I will do a lightfast test with these for sure 😊 It's just the start, I plan to be able to use this mix to make some great home made alcohol ink from various ingredients, I will keep you all updated with any tests and experiments 😊😊
Yes, have put some outside to test, will update in a future vid 😊 It was more for the experiment as will be trying lots of things with future experiments, I'm certain I will find a very good lightfast ingredient soon 😊😊
Have you considered using a paste food color? The color is much more concentrated. Here in the USA, we also have gel food color available, and I believe those colors are also highly concentrated.
Yay Daniel! Congratulations on 50K!!! Its so exciting to have watched how far you've come from just being friends on Facebook and sharing your work out there to starting your own channel and where you are now!!! I'm so happy for you!! ❤❤✌
I really liked the translucency of these and the softer colors. Would I make my own inks like this? No, it’s too much bother to have questionable quality. I truly enjoyed the experiment and the effects it produced.
You may try using a gel food coloring, as there's less water in those.. But the acetone and alcohol may just compensate for that water very well. Another thought would be to put some into a cup, letting it dry up, and THEN adding your acetone and alcohol.
Wowsers Daniel I love the way your brain works. Congratulations on 50 thousand subscribers. You absolutely deserve this 🎉🎉 So looking forward to seeing if there is any fading. It would be absolutely awesome if they don't. Thank you so kindly for sharing your wonderful talent and videos with us all. You absolutely Rock!! Take great care and I hope you are enjoying your summer there with your family.
50k subscribers, huge congratulations Daniel! This is so cool, I bought food coloring for several faux potions I made, and I have a lot of leftovers 😂. Will be fun to play around with. 😊
Great test, I also tried with liquid food colouring a few months ago, quickly realised that wasn't going to work. But the addition of acetone is interesting 🧐...am I going to bother? Nah probably not, I prefer vibrant colours over pastel. You got some good results! x
Sorry I missed you. No notification. I’ve now looked at my subscriptions and there you are! This sounds exciting. Congratulations on 50k!🎉 it’s only just started Daniel! 😊👍 The last one was my favourite. I know the word game changer seems ‘ old hat’ but putting UV pieces that don’t seem to set in water then under the UV light is magic! Takes away that tackyness. Thanks Daniel .👍☺️🇬🇧
Congratulations on 50k! That's awesome! Aside from the little specks, I think those look pretty cool. I really love those last four that you showed! Those colors are beautiful! Your experiments are always very interesting. I can't wait to see what you do next!
It's great that you keep experimenting, sir Daniel. I also got some food coloring in the beginning of resin art journey, but used it only once and that too the color vanished after some days.even though it wad not exposed to direct sunlight😂.But your experimenting helps people like me a lot.Thank you🙏
@@daniel..cooper It was around 9/10 months ago I tried, kept it in my cupboard, and took it out after 2 months I guess, all the colors had vanished😅.That time I was just starting learning resin art.I am still a learner only and I was searching for cheaper color options so I tried using those colors Proper resin pigments only work even after a long time 😃
I have tried different things, with food coloring, not happy with the liquid but the food coloring in paste or thick form😂 is highly pigmented, vibrant colors
Congratulations on 50k! Great experiments. I wonder about Ritz clothing dyes. I think they have a dry version that would have no water. You probably already thought of it, but if not, maybe. They did turn out nice.
The colors I find to be pretty. My question would be as to whether or not the colors will fade. I think that I will stay with the LET’S RESIN alcohol inks for now ❤ I look forward to seeing what you find about how these food color inks stay true to their color and for how long!
Thanks Deb, running that test now 😊 This was just a start as to where I will be working to create an easy ink we can all make with best light fastness, ideal for those who can't get our alcohol inks 🥰
@@debbrady497 understandable, I have to make sure something is 100% safe and good to use before I can give it as a must try technique, I will crack something soon 😊😊
Specks or not, I think those came out brilliant! I am curious about how safe it is to be mixing acetone and alcohol, how do you know they won’t mix badly or give off toxic fumes?
Colored marker have a Cotton like center which soaks up the ink. Buy cheaper markers, remove the centers and place in alcohol. Adjust the amount of alcohol to change the intensity.
I think the specs are sediment of the food coloring. How old was the food coloring? I had some luck with the food coloring paste in coloring resin (Wilton). I mixed it with alcohol only. I've not tried any of your techniques with the sinker white. My paste was very old and most of them were pretty dried up. I got frustrated and threw them away. Now I wish I hadn't, just for the curiosity factor. LOL! Thanks so much for your experiments. I actually like the pastel ones. They are soft and pretty.
Thanks 😊 These are quite old now, maybe that's the issue. With hard pastes, try standing the bottles in hot water, sometimes the binder loosens again making them usable 😊
No effects from experiments so far, only a little surface dimples in #154, the I think the alcohol helps the water evaporate more than the acetone does but the acetone definitely helps break up the water content into smaller surface blobs.
I will do a lightfast test with these for sure 😊 It's just the start, I plan to be able to use this mix to make some great home made alcohol ink from various ingredients, I will keep you all updated with any tests and experiments 😊😊
I’ll be watching for it!😊
So will I! 👍☺️
Congratulations... I wonder how the gel food coloring would work.. Thank you for all the experiments you do
The last large oval was really pretty.
The pastel colors are really pretty. I, too, worry about the color fading. Only time will tell!
Yes, have put some outside to test, will update in a future vid 😊 It was more for the experiment as will be trying lots of things with future experiments, I'm certain I will find a very good lightfast ingredient soon 😊😊
I know food colorings vary in their bases. Some are oil based and some are water based, according to my research. Great experiments❤
Thanks Pam 😊 could be an oil maybe?
and some are alcohol based... so ready made alcohol inks
Have you considered using a paste food color? The color is much more concentrated. Here in the USA, we also have gel food color available, and I believe those colors are also highly concentrated.
I will definitely try soon 😊😊
Love the way you experiment and show the results. The pieces look great even with the specks.
All in all it is working pretty good! I always look forward to your new videos and experiments!😊
I just love these experiments so much they are fascinating. You are the Potions Master of the resin world Daniel ❤
Thank you so much 😀

I love how these turned out...the colours and designs are unique and almost looks like outerspace
Awesome on the 50K. Congrats. Love how you experiment. It is amazing and inspirational. ❤ your channel.

Congratulations on 50K well done, interesting test. I really appreciate your experimentations ❤
Thanks Maddie 😊
I love using food coloring in my resin as a colorant. This experiment is brilliant !!! 👍😻👍
Thanks so much 😊
Thank you for all your experiments. We all appreciate your creativity.
Lovely outcome..they are really pretty shades❤
I’m so happy for you getting to 50k. 🎉Nice experiment. Looking forward to see how colorfast they will be.

Awesome tips, I did think about evaporation, I will try soon 😊😊😊
Congratulations!! You are awesome 😎 and your laugh makes me smile.

Congrats on 50K🎉. I really like how they all turned out, the little specs don’t bother me at all!
Interestingly test I really looking forward to seeing how this goes forward
I love your experiments! Congratulations on 50K 🎉🎊🎇🎆
Keep up the experimenting. Its always fun to see the results and your ideas on tweeking them. Congrats again Daniel!

Thank you Daniel. I do enjoy each video you bring to us.
I use food coloring all the time. Acrylic paint works as well
Look foward to more experiments with this. Congrats again on the 50k! 🎉😊

Congrats on 50k. 🎉🎉😊
Hlo dainel it's really good to experiment with colour ❤
I have used markers to make alcohol ink you just soak the inside in alcohol it works really well
My only issue with this is the wasted plastic after, maybe it could be hidden inside resin layers so it's not wasted? I will experiment.

Thanks Bob, I did think about clothing dyes, a dry version would be best if fully soluble 😊😊
What would happen if you used food coloring paste? Thank you for all your experiments and good ideas!
Daniel love your channel, can you try using food colouring powders and see if they could be alcohol inks😊
I will try soon 😊
I love them as the are ❤
I believe food coloring also comes in a paste and powder form. They might give a different results.
Another great experiment ❤
Thanks!
Wow, thank younso much Myla 🥰🥰
Congrats on 50k
Thank you so much 😀
I would love to see if powder food colouring would work mixed with the alcohol !
I will try soon 😊😊

I wonder if the water in the food coloring helped cause the specks?
I love this. As to fading all alcohol inks do it would be nice if these don’t.
Awesome content. Can alcohol types of ink made with sanitizer that has a 70%alcohol base. Thank you❤❤
I haven't tried, sorry 😔
So as good colourings mostly contain water does the acetone evaporate the water or just allows it to mix. If not does it effect the resin in any way
No effects from experiments so far, only a little surface dimples in #154, the I think the alcohol helps the water evaporate more than the acetone does but the acetone definitely helps break up the water content into smaller surface blobs.
Great video. Are these waterproof.
Où peut-on trouver ces colorants Daniel ? Merci
Cool. I suspect these colors will fade fast
Definitely doing a lightfast test 😊😊
Is white the only color that is available as a sinker? Newbie here.
I made my own colors in #140 😊
Would an oil based food colour work? I use it when colouring chocolate because the water on the liquid reacts with the chocolate.
Possibly, I have an update on these over the weekend, the results were not good 😂
@@daniel..cooper oh no🙈. Well we live and learn, wouldn't life be boring if we achieved perfect results every time.
Can you make alcohol ink from resin pigment ink? If so can you do a tutorial please ans thank you!
❤
Have you tried using candle dye yet?
Not yet 😊😊
👍👍😊
🥰🥰🥰 thanks Claire 😊
Have you tried this with 100% acetone?
Not yet, it should work, just don't spill any, it can eat away at most surfaces.
😊
why didnt you just get alcohol based food colouring?
👍☺️👍☺️👍
All in all it is working pretty good! I always look forward to your new videos and experiments!😊
