That's fine if you CAN get out of the way. I've been in situations with two sets of doors that both open into a business. In those cases, it does take some creativity. What about if you are pushing someone in a chair. If you come up to a door that opens in, trying to get it open and push the person at the same time is really awkward, unless you go backwards. Having someone hold the door open and out of the way is great during these times.

Double doors are definitely tricky. For me, if someone opens one side then it enables me to open the other and get through. If someone is pushing me, I push the door open as they push me through it.

If people don't get the hint that there in the way, I tend to get kind of push my through, I hold onto there leg and use it to push my way through, or just go over there feet, hopefully they learn to stay clear, it's done instinctually, but to let them know, wheelchair users need the space

People feel awkward around those in wheelchairs. They think they are being helpful, but sometimes, not. The other day, someone pushed my cousin's chair (without her knowing)while she pushing herself.

LOL... Hilariously funny but SO TRUE. While it is nice to be helped by others opening doors, it is extremely UNHELPFUL if they then become the closed door by standing directly in the space they created by opening said door. D'UH! Common sense isn't actually all that common after all.

Common sense is not that common.
