Personally though, I really don't hear the "grunge" in the Ocean Grove discography, & more relatively this song in particular. These guys are definitely the forerunners in bringing back the old school Nu Metal sound; heavy influences that you can clearly tell they grew up on. This song in particular sounds like an amalgamation of Sugar Ray, Chevelle, and Reveille. All three bands did their respective pieces for the nu metal culture. Nu metal IS often considered a derivation/continuation of what grunge started, so in that sense-you aren't wrong. But, they are still two completely different worlds, for sure.

It's funny Britpop was made as a reaction against the rise of American grunge music. Then nu-metal was the big genre that came along. This band managed to combine all 3 into their sound
Why aren't these guys more popular?! They fucking rock. Love nu metal, glad they are bringing it back. Now, if this we're an 80's inspired band, shit, it'd be on the radio playing non-stop. Late 90s/early 00s just doesn't seem to be as popular among the majority, a lot people seem to still be hung on the 80's (I'm just not a fan of the 80s, in my area's radio there are just 80's music and brand new music, nothing in between which fucking sucks. The biggest reason why I switched to SiriusXM and never looked back). Can't wait until a late 90s/early 00s revival comes, which I have high hopes for in this decade. \m/ \m/ Been seeing a lot of old nu metal bands playing 20th Anniversary Tours of they're most popular records. Bad. Ass. :D
