As someone who grew up as evangelical Christian all the way through his childhood, I can say that being an atheist and accepting my irreligion is a breath of fresh air, a lot like the kid in the video when he escapes. It's a beautiful music video, really, there's depth there.

As someone who grew up as an atheist all the way through his childhood, I can say that being an Christian and accepting my religion is a breath of fresh air, a lot like the priest in the video when he kills the communist. It's a beautiful music video, really, there's depth there.

Yep Nickel Earred Nick is right they are with Rise now. And I always try to be positive towards new and upcoming bands a lot of people look over the ones who arent the more known ones like Crown the Empire or Of Mice & Men, Memphis May Fire and so on. People are calling them generic but it's hard to be completely original in the metalcore genre, there are so many bands in the scene but so far I've only seen good things of these guys hope to see more.

the clean singer is friggin awesome, along with the instrumentation that backs him up. The seemless transitions between dark and heavy to bright rock sound is cool.

i remember listening to this song when it first came out and how it made me feel sad with how eerie it sounded. i think about this song a lot and i always come back to this video and the feeling never changes from the first time. that's why this song is so good!

This band gives me kind of a Plot In You vibe, definitely not the lyrics or the cleans, but the song structure and the riffs of the song.
I feel like the video wants me to take it seriously but its very difficult when you're constantly distracted by the singer walking around, hand gesturing and looking like he's trying to seduce me like he's the most amazing thing in the world.
I can understand why people say this is generic since there's two vocalists, and sung choruses, but it's not THAT generic, and I think if I listen to this band a bit more then I'll really like them and get into them. I thought Silent Planet was generic at first listen but I think they're amazing now. Plus I bet these guys are great live.
Joe Pontiac How is the fact of having two vocalists generic, as if the next month's hate trend will be bands that only have one vocalist? That's really silly. Not you, but everyone. It's like saying, "if you don't have a pianist or violinist in your band, you're generic", like band members and positions do not make a band generic xD, lyrics and perhaps appearance does.
these guys are actually fantastic live. Ive seen them live about 9 times hear in australia, and gig they did was full of energy. I even seen them twice when the guitarist was in a wheelchair, and they still kicked ass

It shows in their music and if you ever get the chance to see them in the flesh, DO IT! It's worth it and you won't be disappointed (:

Its easy to show hate on a person who believes but i say that i know you are loved no matter what by him and me. he wants you to look towards him
I dont believe in a god, i believe in some sort of higher force that watches over us. A god is a figurehead of a organized religion, something made to give people false hope, something i dont agree with. Hell, if you think of it, religion is the leading cause of wars. You can believe whatever you want but this is what i believe.
Hey guys, this is a pretty solid song overall for the genre! I'm a follower of Christ, and understand your message. Sometimes people take it waaaaaay to far, and the video is over exaggerating to make that point. I admire the passion!

STS are not signed to Rise, they're signed to UNFD. I remember when these guys dropped their first self-titled EP back in December of 2011. I'm super stoked to see them make such awesome progress because they deserve it. :)

Hey Guys. I asked the band about the meaning behind the lyrics and long story short, it's not a hate song on Christians. If you go to their Facebook page and scroll back to the 17th of November, there's a post about the meaning of the song as well as a short explanation of their relationship with religion. I recommend you guys check it out because the song is actually a lot deeper than you may think on first glance. And as a Christian I actually agree with what it's trying to say :)

Guys I hate when atheists come on christian music and bash it. This band has every right to sing about whatever they want, just as Christians bands do. I don't support but also don't condemn it either. Stop bashing each other's bands and move on.
This is not a hate comment, but music genres are always changing to new forms due to the saturation that happens within the many bands. I love metalcore and always will. This would've been crazy in 2011, but this has been heard way too many times to be considered new and unique. I mean its not terrible...I am just concerned for bands trying to get big when they repeat the exact same structure over and over.
See I would agree with you but this isn't a generic or popular sound in Australia (where sts are from). For us its a bit more fresh. We have a very polluted scene here full of Djent based bands that use Northlane as inspiration. All in all it is a solid track and i think the boys deserve every bit of recognition they are receiving.

What's funny is Australia's djent planetcore is now huge in the US as I am a huge fan of Northlane (if they ever make a new album due to loss of Adrian), In Hearts Wake, Dream on Dreamer etc! Haha love it all. STS is good, but I've heard this exact tone and structure way too many times. They would be very big if this was released a few years back.
Mike DD I agree man with that. Ive known the boys personally for a few years and have seen them progress. This is just a natural progression for the boys since their conception as a group. It may not be original but it isn't a forced sound or something to fit in with current fads especially here in Aus.
I think if they got the recognition they have now in the past they would be massive, but the guys are playing what they love.
The planetcore genre is massive here, but so is the nu-metal beatdown sound that is becoming fairly large.

OMG!!! If you increase the speed to 1.25 the song sounds pretty awesome. Not saying that it doesn't sound good at normal speed.
