Bro i'm so torn rn. I'm in the exact same position where i'd way rather play the full stable release, but i just had one of those super sudden urges to grind valheim again. I don't really wanna start a new world rn, and my other world is already mistlands status so i really wanna do all the ashlands content. I might just have to cave and play public test for this one lol.
@@BeezerGutlr I saw a video showing that the update could potentially drop relatively soon so i think i'm just gonna insist on waiting now. Even if it's still weeks to a month, i think i'd rather just find a different game to sink into till then. Even with creating backups i just don't trust playing on an unstable test version of the game. Getting a game breaking bug or corruption could still mean reverting a ton of progress depending on how far back the backup was. I have to push my patience because now im getting recommended ashlands videos on yt lol.

When Hildirs request hit PTB I played on that and I never had an Issue with the PTB, but it still took them two months to release that update. This update contrary to Hildirs request, added an entire biome, new boss, weapons etc. They did say they were going to release this update in the first half of 2024 and we still got most of June to go. I don't think it's going to come out during May and if it does I don't think that will be a good idea since there is still a bunch of balance issues and a few bugs on the PTB version and I don't see them fixing all of them before the live update drops. They could also drop live and then continue to balance and bug fix after it goes live, but I think it would be best if they let it bake just a little longer.

If you were going to play PTB now is better than earlier. The spawns were off the charts when it dropped.
