While Xavier Salomon’s presentation was excellent as usual, the black kitten in the background almost stole the show! More agile than the Grand Conde and cuter than the duc d’Aumale, fully deserves a dish of crème Chantilly… Kidding aside, thank you for another great presentation!

So funny. I didn’t even see it; I had to rewind the video, but once I saw the kitten it couldn’t be unseen.

Chantilly is great but that little black cat in the background is the real work of art.
    Just genius.

An excellent presentation on somewhere I confess I I know little about. Thank you so much. Also an excellent presentation on the joy of a kitten having a great time. Altogether perfect!

I love art history and I've really been enjoying these lectures with the unflapable Mr. Salomon. Mr. Salomon, you are a pro. And, so is your tiny cat.

This presentation, in my view, is the best so far. I love visiting British manor houses to see the art. This is an example of a place to visit in France, which I find valuable. The Frick is making an amazing contribution to understanding art history. Thank you. 🇨🇦

I absolutely love the tiny black kitten!! I watched the lecture once for the content and the second time for kitten. I think we all gasped when kitten decided to play in the plant and the whole thing swayed !! Honestly, Dr. Salomon your lectures just get better and better. I loved the tie in with porcelain at the Frick plus the trip to the gardens. I can't wait until you have the opportunity to travel again!!

Excellent presentation. I agree that the cat should have his own channel, but the whole thing is beautifully written and presented. When I was at school there was a high-quality reproduction of Les Tres Riches Heures du Duc du Berry published. I bought it but subsequently parted with it. How I regret that! I didn't know if was in Chantilly.

Chantilly looks so charming. I can't believe I did not know about this gem the 2 times I visited Paris in my younger years! If i ever return to France, I plan on visiting this collection. Also- love the no reaction from Xavier with something falling in the background! As always, a very interesting presentation. Thank you Mr. Salomon!

Excellent presentation. Thank you to Xavier Salomon. The one thing he forgot to mention is the Great Stables. A masterpiece of 18th-century architecture, the Great Stables were built by the architect Jean Aubert for Louis-Henri de Bourbon, the 7th prince of Condé. They are a veritable horses' palace turned into a museum for the horse and used also for equestrian shows throughout the year, devoted to the art of Haute-école horse training which has been contributing to Chantilly's international renown for more than 30 years.

Thank you for this wonderful tour with historical insights as well as the glimpse of your wee kit doing what small cats do (everything and anything they want!). I appreciate hearing about the art in context of its collectors and time period and have always enjoyed looking at books aboutThe Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry so I was interested in hearing that it's shown normally in facsimile.

One of my favorite French chateaux is Chateau de Chambord, which even has a da Vinci connection. And of course for a cocktail with a curator, there's a chambord kir royale. But no great collection of art.

the kitten is a darling little creature to be sure! what is wonderful about the modern tech is that these glorious artistic achievements can be readily replicated today using photographic reproduction and laser carving/shaping/printing. everyone knows that sure, but would it not be a kind of great thrill to have a room like the 'monkey' room w/ those cheerful and bright portrayals of fun? one could get the gist of this room (scaled down a bit, of course) for not too much $$.
