This is, without doubt, the most thorough, well shot, well lit video that I've seen about putting in a spacer lift kit. My Supreme kit came today (2"+1 1/2") and I will have this video handy during the install. Letting me know what tools I'd need was great. Actually showing the steps from side to side was excellent (most just say, "Do the same on the other side"). I have subscribed. Thanks for the good work.
Well 6 1/2 hrs later with jacks and a jack stand it all went well together. Only had an issue with a poorly threaded castle nut on the lower steering knuckle.
With all of these vids I was able to do a leveling kit on my truck, did a 2.5” front with diff drop and a 1” block on rear. Didn’t want to stress the suspension too much 3” too much on front. Thanks for these great vids!
Jason Dexter 1” block rear, 2.5” spacer front. Tires are 265/75/16 on stock Toyota rims man. But I actually removed the spacer and got beilsteins 5100 on front and got beilsteins 5160s rear, I just left the 1” block. The rides a lot smoother now, paid less than 800 for shocks just took it to get an alignment so around $900 out the door. I recommend this set up man.
what tire size is the 33? can you please give me the exact tire size 🙏🏻 , i have the same lift but i want to install 33s and i want to go with what you said fit well with minimum rubbing please thank you
Did mine today and used this video every step of the way so thank you very much! Very simple step by step, only thing I would say and this may just be in my experience, facing difficulty getting my tirerod out and refusing to beat it with a hammer I was able to still do everything with it being in place so in the end just one less extra step! Other than that thanks again!
Hi I have a 2016 Tacoma and I put a 3inch leveling kit in the front of my truck and but a bigger tires 285/70/17. Now my problem is that my tire in the front hit my upper arm when I do a sharp turn. Should I add wheel Spacers or lift up the back a little ?
i just put a 2" on the front of my taco, and it is now higher in the front and i just ordered 1" blocks for the rear. its not a full on TN tilt by any means, but i can notice it. i measured the wheel to fender, and there is now 7.5 clearance in the front and only 6.5 in the rear. so, a true level (using blocks, new coil-overs behave a little different) for gen 3 tacos is 1 inch lower lift block to the rear than whatever you put on the front. if you look at the before/after in this vid, you can see that the front is a bit higher on this kit as well.
Question for ya, I put my lift on about two weeks ago 3” f 2”r, I’ve noticed that my leaf springs have become rather straight instead of having the curvature to it, is this normal? Is this something I should be concerned about? Perhaps drop to an 1” spacer in the rear?
Sorry to bother you but I am about to install the same lift 3’f and 2’r, did you solve the problem and also did you have to replace the brake lines at front and rear ?
Seems good, i’m getting my Tacoma later this year, and I am looking a levelling kit just because of the aesthetics of it in all honesty, and I intend to to use it as my daily, just gotta make sure to get a wheel size that does not rub is all
Hi there Joe I've a 20 Tacoma 4x4 and thinking about installing a lift kit from ready lift SKU 69-5112 which is 3F' 1R' How difficult is to install the kit ? Overall do you think that I need to buy the loan plate spacer for the driver side please let me know thanks
I did a similar set up3in lift spacers Front w/2.75 bilstein 5100 total5.75 front lift. My upper control arm hits coil spring. Do I need to replace upper control arm or go with a different set up?
Sounds about right to be! You can always get in touch with Supreme Suspension directly if you want to double check, but strut spacers normally never are the same height as the lift given (if that makes sense). The spacer itself in combination with the rest of your front end suspension will give the truck lift, not just the spacer itself like what you'd see on solid-axle applications. -Zach
Yes, but don't get crazy. If you hear any loud pops or bangs make sure you inspect things before getting back on the road. Specifically look to see if the lower shock mount in the front is bent (most common, but not common at all).
What are your thoughts on the Pro Comp Nitro 3” front leveling kit, 1” rear? 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport 4X4? This is what the installer for Toyota is recommending here with 285/70/17 33’s Nitto RidgeGrapplers on 17inch Matte black D694 Fuel Coverts -12 offset? Thoughts anyone please help. Quoted at $3,100.00 cash includes alignment, warrantied, wheel speed sensor calibration, diff drop, and adaptive cruise control calibration.
3-1 will be level front to back 3-2 will still have a small rake to it 2 inch will be level to the back without adding anything to the rear so its still will be level just not as high as the other two otions
I've seen a few videos of people using red lock tight on some of the strut bolts, is it recommended or does it not play a big factor in those nuts ever coming loose?
Ride quality won't change dramatically, but do expect things to stiffen up slightly due to the changed geometry angles. No torque wrench was pictured in this install but it is recommended that all major components are torqued back down to spec. Thanks for watching!
Yes, the shock and spring in particular simply because you are compressing them more. You likely won't notice it for years, but it definitely increases the wear factor.
This lift kit is made specifically for 2005-2020 Tacomas, I'd recommend looking into a kit made for your specific truck to ensure proper fitment. -Zach
I installed a Supreme Suspensions 3/2 lift on my 2018 Tacoma 2WD Sport last year. I'm running 33" tires on 17 x 9" wheels with a - 12 offset. Rides great, looks great, no rubbing, no scrubbing and no trimming. I'm completely happy with it.
Terrance Tatum I have the same truck and I just bought the same lift, I got a question for you, do you have to replace the brake lines or something else ? Thanks for your help !
You forgot put all torque wrench requirements! When I change struts, all a parts I always have to put all torque wrench were put in factory tight bots.
Jack Carpenter It should fit if the particular 2wd tacoma you are referring to is a pre-runner, but the regular 2wd drive tacoma (5 lug wheel hub) has a completely different suspension design.
IFS strut spacers are a little different compared to traditional coil spring spacers. The height of the spacer itself is never going to match the advertised lift height like you're saying. But the spacer itself *gives the lift height to the vehicles* with the help of the other suspension components. This will lift your truck 3" just fine. 😁 -Zach
You roughly adding 1.75ish inch on top the strut that at the mid point of the LCA so that 1.75ish inch at the mid point of the LCA moves the end approximately 3in.
Great video, but it looks terrible. It already looks like the back is lower than the front, so I imagine it’ll be dragging @$$ every time it leaves a stoplight. You have to have some rake, ppl. Even if you don’t ever use the bed you’re suppose to use (ya know, since it’s a truck).
Brian Carpenter I have a 2/1 and it sits perfectly. Still has some factory rake, but it’s not as severe. I load my truck regularly and it never really drops below level. I can’t recall the brands I used, but it’s a 2” suspension lift in the front and 1” block at the back. The whole thing cost me $400 to have installed, including mounting and balancing the new Method wheels and Toyo ATII Open Country tires.
With how the front suspension is set up on these trucks, the spacer itself is not going to equal the height it provides. I would double check all of the part numbers on the box you received to make sure it is the right kit, and if everything matches you're good to go! -Zach
I’m confused, the guy in the video keeps talking about a strut assembly, but I don’t see one😏 As a strut is an integral component of a suspension, meaning it is a part that integrates all working parts of a suspension into one. A strut is a part that combines the duties of an upper control arm, a steering knuckle, a coil, and shock into one assembled part. A coilover does not do that, a coilover only performs the duties of a coil and shock. And a coilover has been what has been used in Tacoma’s since they were first introduced to the market in the mid 90’s. As with most other present day IFS light duty trucks, they utilize a coil over, rather than a strut to spring and shock dampen. A strut is a component that is more commonly found in cars, and crossover SUV’s. Sorry for the book, anyway, besides that tidbit of misinformation, the video was very informative.
The video was very informative but that repetitive background bleeping noise forced me to go out the back and strangle next doors ginger cat. ....they got 3 more.... in case you use that music in the next video.

Awesome video
I have heard of people needing after market upper control arms and possible alignments done after lifting. Is this common with this type of upgrade?
With all of these vids I was able to do a leveling kit on my truck, did a 2.5” front with diff drop and a 1” block on rear. Didn’t want to stress the suspension too much 3” too much on front. Thanks for these great vids!

What kit did you use and what size tire's and wheels are you running. I looking for the same set up as you have.
Jason Dexter 1” block rear, 2.5” spacer front. Tires are 265/75/16 on stock Toyota rims man. @Jordan James no I replaced front shocks with adjustable I got a 2.75” lift front
You kept saying transfer case, didn't you mean differential drop spacers?

Yonatan Diaz wheel spacers should do the trick.
What offset?
Is there any need to torque the nuts and bolts to spec? Or is it ok to just let the impact driver to go crazy?
Great video. I’m new to all this, what is the purpose of the transfer drop and do you have to do it with a 2” leveling kit?
That’s what I wanna know
I can only put the 3 ”leveling kit in front because I don't want to change anything in the back. Thank you for your answer.
Your front will be 1.25" higher than the back if you do this. If you want to simple level it out, everyone uses a 2" lift in the front.
will this fit trd sport?
Surprised they don't provide some type of tapered spacer so it seats better between the transfer case arms and the frame
Does this work for the 2wd?
They have one for 2wd
I got 2” blocks with my 3” strut spacers will it be level? Or will the rear be higher?
Gigabyte1024 it will have a tiny bit of front rake but barely noticeable, with 3/1 the truck looks slightly nose up from certain angles
i just put a 2" on the front of my taco, and it is now higher in the front and i just ordered 1" blocks for the rear. its not a full on TN tilt by any means, but i can notice it. i measured the wheel to fender, and there is now 7.5 clearance in the front and only 6.5 in the rear. so, a true level (using blocks, new coil-overs behave a little different) for gen 3 tacos is 1 inch lower lift block to the rear than whatever you put on the front. if you look at the before/after in this vid, you can see that the front is a bit higher on this kit as well.
Any issues later down the line with these mods? I have a 19 pro voodoo blue and wanted to run 32s
Are you adding a bump stop extension as well ?

Sorry to bother you but I am about to install the same lift 3’f and 2’r, did you solve the problem and also did you have to replace the brake lines at front and rear ?
What does the front spacer measure out to be? And also do you know the measurements from center of hub to bottom of the fender?
Seems good, i’m getting my Tacoma later this year, and I am looking a levelling kit just because of the aesthetics of it in all honesty, and I intend to to use it as my daily, just gotta make sure to get a wheel size that does not rub is all
I would watch doing the spacer lift..seen the springs on the coil overs fail ..spacer lifts r cheap if u want to do it that way.
Fail on new trucks?
I got the same kit but I would like to know why it squeaks??
Did you find out?
Nice thorough explanation, thanks!
Thanks for watching! -Zach
Hi there Joe I've a 20 Tacoma 4x4 and thinking about installing a lift kit from ready lift SKU 69-5112 which is 3F' 1R'
How difficult is to install the kit ?
Overall do you think that I need to buy the loan plate spacer for the driver side please let me know thanks
Doing this mod on Friday, I hope everything goes smoothly.
Good luck on the install, Sean! We appreciate you watching! -Zach
Everything went well. I'd suggest hitting all bolts and nuts with PB blaster as soon as you get the wheels off.
I did a similar set up3in lift spacers Front w/2.75 bilstein 5100 total5.75 front lift. My upper control arm hits coil spring. Do I need to replace upper control arm or go with a different set up?
Will this work with the TRD pro Fox suspension?
Just bought this 3 in Supreme leveling kit it's measuring the inch-and-a-half is that the right what's the thickness on a 3-inch?
Sounds about right to be! You can always get in touch with Supreme Suspension directly if you want to double check, but strut spacers normally never are the same height as the lift given (if that makes sense). The spacer itself in combination with the rest of your front end suspension will give the truck lift, not just the spacer itself like what you'd see on solid-axle applications. -Zach
Yes that's correct. The level of lift is roughly double the thickness of the spacer.
Is it safe to go off roading with these things on?
Yes, but don't get crazy. If you hear any loud pops or bangs make sure you inspect things before getting back on the road. Specifically look to see if the lower shock mount in the front is bent (most common, but not common at all).
Are those wheels new painted ones? have a 13 with chrome wheels want black
youre supposed to actually change your UCA's at this lift height.
New upper control arms would be ideal, as would a differential spacer and (if you have the OR model) the spacers for the skid plate.
What are your thoughts on the Pro Comp Nitro 3” front leveling kit, 1” rear? 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport 4X4? This is what the installer for Toyota is recommending here with 285/70/17

10 out of 10!!! Great install video.
Thanks for watching, Rez! -Zach
Why 3/1 vs 3/2 or just 2 inch in front
3-1 will be level front to back
3-2 will still have a small rake to it
2 inch will be level to the back without adding anything to the rear so its still will be level just not as high as the other two otions
Will this kit fit the TRD off-road?
Yes.
I've seen a few videos of people using red lock tight on some of the strut bolts, is it recommended or does it not play a big factor in those nuts ever coming loose?
I would use it just to be safe since them nuts do come loose. better safe than sorry
Any vibrations from the 1 inch lift blocks? Degree shims needed?
They haver a certain direction. They might be staggered.
You want to get tapered blocks. The shorter end of the block goes towards the front of the truck.
What rims?
What if you have king coil overs?
I have a 2019 4x4 tundra crewmax I want to do the same setup what you recommend?
Same kit, but for your truck year and model.
If I do 2inch spacer upfront and a 2 inch block rear will that keep my factory rake
Yep.
What’s the Tacoma completely stocked before you put it on or you had struts or something that you already had to put up there ??
It was stock. Those are factory shocks and springs on it.
Gr8 instructions on the installation 👍
How is the ride quality? The prices on this kit is nice, but want to make sure it's good quality. Also, you didn't need a torque wrench?
Ride quality won't change dramatically, but do expect things to stiffen up slightly due to the changed geometry angles. No torque wrench was pictured in this install but it is recommended that all major components are torqued back down to spec. Thanks for watching!
When you say that 31” tires fit this lift, is that 265/70R16 or 265/75R16?
Just type those dimensions into google and it’ll tell you
Does this add any wear to specific parts?
Yes, the shock and spring in particular simply because you are compressing them more. You likely won't notice it for years, but it definitely increases the wear factor.
cost?
About $165
Is there a front transfer case on a 2 weel drive
anyone know why you can't run them on a 2wd tacoma?
You can but the differential drop wouldn't be necessary on a 2wd.
@@user-xc2tk8wz2v thanks for the reply, I ended up running this lift kit and didn’t use the diff drop like you said 👍
I will need to alingment the wheels???
Any time you modify your suspension, we always recommend you have an alignment done. Thanks for watching! - Zach
Would this work on a Colorado?
This lift kit is made specifically for 2005-2020 Tacomas, I'd recommend looking into a kit made for your specific truck to ensure proper fitment. -Zach
Extreme Terrain Toyota what lift/level would you recommend for a Colorado similar to this one
Can I put this exact lift on my 2WD 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport?
I installed a Supreme Suspensions 3/2 lift on my 2018 Tacoma 2WD Sport last year. I'm running 33" tires on 17 x 9" wheels with a - 12 offset. Rides great, looks great, no rubbing, no scrubbing and no trimming. I'm completely happy with it.
Terrance Tatum did you need the transfer case spacers?
Terrance Tatum I have the same truck and I just bought the same lift, I got a question for you, do you have to replace the brake lines or something else ? Thanks for your help !
Yes.
You forgot put all torque wrench requirements! When I change struts, all a parts I always have to put all torque wrench were put in factory tight bots.
I was wondering about that...
Hes using an ugga-dugga gun. 15 ugga-duggas is the industry standard setting.
I like your job man
Thanks for watching! -Zach
Does anyone know why this won’t fit on a 2wd??
Jack Carpenter It should fit if the particular 2wd tacoma you are referring to is a pre-runner, but the regular 2wd drive tacoma (5 lug wheel hub) has a completely different suspension design.
It will but the 2WD does not need the diff drop spacers that's why this video (and kit) is supposed to be for 4WD only
What about a kit that keeps the rake?
Now you have vibration's like crazy! You have to shim the rear end!! Take drive line angle measurements before!!!
So, what's the fix?
@@garydp9760 its a simple shim.
There are kits with tapered rear lift blocks that solve this.
How is it a 3" in the front, those spacers definitely aren't 3"

Nothing is better then a bodylift you mess with suspension have alignement tire wear problems with driveline issues..
and . . . ?
Do I need the transfer case spacers with 2wd?
No you do not, you don't have a transfer case in a 2WD
