With your worries about Green, they have great effects but most of their cards have high summon/cast cost!
I feel like its def a decent balance. On top of that their swift keyword has to use cores from their reserve to summon and cant be taken from creatures on the board already like if you were to summon on your main phase

    • @thebreed254
      @thebreed254 11 месяцев назад

well they play on the Core Boost mechanic, where your constantly gaining core with each action, so the high cost balances out
the swift however can be dangerous because of this, as you pick up enough core you can swarm the field, and with them having burst monsters and braves too, you find the right dude and you can summon a brave spirit in one move

I wasn't expecting you to cover BSS. I thought the game looked cool and bought the starter decks to see how I'd like it. So far I do, but I have a few questions.
First is, what brand of card sleeves works best for these cards? I've tried looking around, and Ultimate Guard Katana sleeves have been the best I've been able to find.
Secondly, I have never been to a card tournament in my life, and I've only ever been to a single card shop twice before. Is there a good way to figure out what shops support Battle Spirits? I looked before, and found some of the bigger tournaments that are in (I think) Pennsylvania and Oklahoma both of which are over 8 hours away by car. I'm still a beginner so I'd like to find a place that's a bit closer to home to practice.
I'm hoping that this games becomes more common because the closest store running events that I could find is 2 and a half hours away.

Yugioh has been my main card game for years and while I dont see that changing anytime soon I have been branching out to other card games, primarily Digimon and Grand Archive. Digimon is freaking amazing imo and I love it to death. Grand Archive has only just come out recently but its been going pretty strong and its second set comes out next month. I've also given Pokemon a try but mostly just collect the cards and play online, which reminds me that Shadowverse is coming out with a physical version of the card game which looks interesting. Buuut I feel like the game is a little held back by how fragmented yet specific the effects are. The game is a bit hellbent on cards that only make sense in very specific decks or combinations. Makes Deckbuilding feel a bit like you get pushed down certain directions that don't allow too much creativity. Which on the other hand might help balance the game. Oh well.

They usually are pretty affordable as most of the value is in the fancy versions of cards, plus you can tell the rarity of the cards by how they are foiled.

I got into this game coming from MTG since I was quite sick of wizards and what I have found is the best designed game so far.
    Few comments:
With just one set, the metagame has a huge diversity of different decks.
Mana/energy/resources system is excellent, unlike MTG it avoids randomization without taking cards from your hand as DBS does.
Flash phase and windows are perfectly defined and easy to use thanks the lack of "pile" conception.
Thought the game somehow reminds to MTG, you need a completely different mind set both to play and deck building.
That comment about MTG and women had to be a troll looking for attention. Don´t feed the troll.
The side deck comment seems for me a minor issue. Perheaps a 12 cards would allow you to have playsets, but even MTG has an odd number as 15.
Bandai games are ussually cheaper than competitors. Lets hope reprints help this game to continue like this in the future. Right now the prices are very sensible to changes in the demand since the offer is still low.
I just hope the game gets more visibility from bigger TCG channels and become more and more popular.

Great video, I like Yugioh but it does have so many glaring problems that seems Konami will never address. For Master Duel I hate how it's behind the Tcg card pool by a couple months and how the banlist especially the last few feel like Konami avoiding problematic cards just to sell more packs (Like Tearlaments). Board states where you can't do anything without having the out won't change although I wish they maybe ban every flood gate under the sun that would be nice. I don't have a locals I can go to near by to play with people physically but I wouldn't want to drop a few hundreds of dollars on a competitive deck that may or may not get power creeped by the next meta deck coming out in a few months.
Battle Spirits I love the game as a guy who saw the anime on RUclips years ago but was sad it wouldn't get an English release until somewhat recently. I don't have anybody to play and with no official way to play online I printed a couple proxy decks and play against myself which might seem sad to others but I really love card games. I love Kamen Rider and would love to see it come to Battle Spirits saga despite the franchise not really having a big presence in the West. I too hope the game doesn't power creep too hard or cards/decks become ridiculous expensive like other games.

so this is actually the 2nd time its tryed to enter the states, it flopped at first but with everyone being open to new games now it might suceced this time
it also has an anime, similar to how yugioh does it, and introduces every new cardtype and playstyle each season
it does it way better too, with it havin a simple set up each season
One main character per color, One Playstyle/Deck per main, one Key card, and set of support for new skill per each main, new support playstyyles and keys for each new character
as for spells, they differ from time to time, old ones becomes staples and staying throughout the series, Ice Wall for instance was a card played for 3/4 seasons before Burst Wall was invented, and since Burst Wall was supposed to be a upgraded version of it, it took its places when used
i love it though cuz they never leave a old cardtype behind, once it becomes part of the game its there forever
they even do legacy battles from time to time and show off how they stack up to the new now, though since they want them to lose, they never play it the same way as the old series so its not 100% accurate
the anime is awesome and does does a good way of telling us how to do things, even though they only use 4-5 cards as monsters for each person, it never gets repeppitve as the summon order is always different making for different actions and plays each match
if your gonna watch(which i hope you do) i suggest this order, as its the proper order for the show
    Gekiha Dan
    Brave
    Heroes
    Sword Eyes
    Burning Soul
    Ultimate
    Double Drive
now all of them are in full on youtube thier not hard to find
everyone but Double Drive has been put up here, and you actually have to hunt for to watch
but anyway, This game will succeced either way so get ready for the world of Battle Spirits is on its way

@Cvit it really is. It has a bit of a powercreep problem, but it is closer to what you describe for BSS than yugioh. It's also pretty cheap and newcomer friendly and has a huge variety of decks. It has sime problems with attribute mixability and the way some matchups are lopsided, but it's overall great fun. Hope you can get into it as well.

As someone who sells catds on tcg player, I don't look at sets or games that have high value cards at all. I look at stuff that sells consistently and people actually play the game. You don't want to look at one time big purchases you wanna find something that people will consistently want and give them it for a fair price. That's why I hope this games works out and is at least as successful as digimon, if it gets even that much of an audience or player base it would be great. I'm also gonna be picking up a box soon of the most recent set to play around with and see how the game plays, cause I think thegame looks really fun and i mean, I play and sell digimon, so maybe this one will go into my regular games to play...i hope so at least...it has a lot of promise

thats the whites, they play on the "defence is to win" strat, by having a bunch of skills and powerups when waiting you ware the opponet down by creating a Unbreakable wall or by stoppin your opponet from defending all together
butbthen there are the the Blues wich are just as cool as they are all Golems, they play simply on(believe it or not) a mill strategy
yes thats right, theres an ENTIRE COLOR based on MILL, i dnt know if they do anymore but they used to do "Assult"(with skill being of the same name) tactics and repeatedly attack over and over again.......but i guess sice they still milled for this ability they probably stopped this
still quite the balanced color and never goes too hard on the mill......unless the big ones come out, milling DOUBLE DIGIT numbers

    Love the Bandai CCG content
Sadly i don't think your concerns about regional promos being expensive will ever be sated. If something is generic or meta it WILL have demand. Simple as. That said people that play One Piece or Digimon dont care about locals promos because they are just worthless alt art reprints. At least in Battle Spirits and Dragon Ball the cards get people to come to events. But i don't think in DBS they've been THAT expensive since a SS3 Gogeta card was in the triple digits during lockdown. Nowadays the most a promo will run for is like 20-30 bucks for non Winner variants and that's only when it just comes out. After a while value dies down when they are more readily distributed. That said the DBS game is in a very good state competitively and I would gladly encourage people yo pick it up especially with the online client. That all said I can easily see Bandai dropping the ball on BSS so don't hold your breath. It already feels like they are spreading themselves too thin. That said it all rides on the Dragon Ball online client later this year taking off if Bandai has faith to apply it to their other games.

ok well the first part about the one card costing a ton doesn't apply to master duel so that's fine, I would maybe play battle spirits saga if it had a video game version too since physical always has to be bought and also can't play it without other people around that also play it without resorting to webcam stuff

    • @Cvit
      @Cvit  11 месяцев назад

Have you tried making branded on master duel that deck is all URs? The hell you talking about decks not costing a lot. You either hit a brick wall with crafting dust and need to grind for gems or spend money

    • @TheKnightOfBuquicious
      @TheKnightOfBuquicious 11 месяцев назад

@@Cvit No, first of all branded is one of the few more "expensive" decks that are the exception to most of them but even with "all" being URs you can still absolutely make it as f2p if you focus on it and didn't do stupid stuff with your gems and there is no real grind since it's 3 daily missions which you can complete pretty quickly for the most part, in like a few duels. Events give a decent amount of gems and it takes a week of dailies to get a tenfold, so as an f2p you get over 8k gems in a month normally. It's only a problem if you're impatient and want them all immediately, in which case yeah, pay like you do in physical. But with physical you *have* to pay either for packs or singles, the difference here is that you don't have to pay if you're patient and properly manage your gems and crafting points.
Another point is if you decide to make it when you first start, you get like over 20k gems from all the first time missions and solo stuff so it's unlikely you can't make at least the core. Same for like Heroes which are another unusually expensive decks, tho ig it's to bait all the hero fanboys

    - low entry wall price wise
    - less match turn off and constant disruption
