I'm not one to comment on RUclips videos, but this deserves it. This is not a review, Jon & Brian, this is a masterpiece. I need not mention the technical aspects - borrowing the idea from the first half of the video - but I must weigh in on the experience. I've watched countless Vision Pro reviews, and they all felt sterile, lifeless, cold. An amalgamation of numbers, specifications, an analytical look into what is, really, an art piece. This, on the contrary, felt alive, vivid, so quintessentially human. Unintended or not, I wholeheartedly believe this video's message transcends the visual and auditory, serving as a metaphor for what experiencing the Vision Pro feels like. An absolute joy to watch and feel. Great job, guys.
How does Jon read from a script so effortlessly that it feels like he's not, and instead feels like he's speaking from the heart?! Truly a talent.

Very sorry for your loss. If you have iPhone shot video of your son, or even selfies he took himself, it would be very interesting to view them with Vision Pro if just in 2D. If there is audio with the video, it may be very possible for it to literally come alive for you.
In time, I believe Apple or other software developers will be able to use Apple AI and computational spatial videography to possibly upscale 2D video into a quasi-3D spatial video that looks almost like reality, enough that older videography and home photography could be enhanced greatly by Vision Pro, not fake but filling in the depth and views. Your mind can do the rest.
I hope these technologies come into being so that you can relive memories of your son with your family.
They are never really gone if they are still in your heart and mind. I hope you find peace one day. ❤️

I've said for a while now that Jon Prosser is fast becoming a philosopher of tech. This review is the first one I've seen that seriously tries to understand the *concept* of the Apple Vision Pro, not just the thing or the tech of it.

Exactly. It's great to see someone who "gets it." Apple doesn't make "devices," they make experiences-via-devices. Which other companies do too. But they either don't market it as well or - most importantly - don't implement it as well.

Apple knows they *are* the mainstream and focuses almost exclusively on that, which is very understandably annoying for tech people but it’s an entirely different way of doing things that most people in the tech sphere tend to not realise
I thought this video was yet another review about the Vision Pro, I was proven wrong.
You created something completely new, another generation of reviews.
Not only that, the video quality was a game changer, not only because of the resolution but also the framing you used in this video. I had never seen this ratio in a RUclips video, ever.
It perfectly fits in my iPhone screen.
And that’s just half of it. The storytelling on this is incredible. You captured all my attention and focus though out the whole video. And that plot twist really caught me off guard. For a moment I thought you hated the Apple Vision Pro but when you left aside the technical part I felt represented with your views. As you said, most tech reviewers just cover the technical aspects rather than the experience of using it but you nailed it!

I rarely comment on RUclips, never really do. But I really felt the need to say something after watching this. I don't think you quit realize how important your review Is. I've lost excited for Apple products for a long time, and after seeing the first reviews online I thought it was impressive but it did not get me excited again. I stopped watching your videos a while back after I felt they were becoming too immature and crass. You’ve just won me back. This is one of the best videos I’ve watched in a while, period. Why don’t you stand on stage and present the Vision Pro?
Why do I now, more than ever, have the need to buy a Vision Pro?

Finally somebody was able to put into words how I felt as a non-technical consumer when I first tried the device. This is the future! Thank you for seeing it pass the reviewer’s lenses (no pun intended). I agree that Apple has work to do and I could not be happier to imagine what is next! 😊
What a great review. Very well done. I went to the Apple Store to demo the AVPro and was completely blown away. It felt like I was going to fall off of a mountain. I felt like I was flying. I felt like I was exactly where the demo took me and I could touch whatever or whomever was in front of me. The spatial photos were visceral. I would never want take them off while at home and definitely would never watch a movie, play a video game, or watch a sporting event on a television again. I’m a filmmaker myself and still go to the theater but I’m sorry, after seeing this I wouldn’t go back. This is the future and eventually everyone will have an iteration of this tech regardless of manufacturer. I can only imagine the coding for this.
I don’t know if you know this John. But your content and videos have been soooooo good for a long time now. It feels like you’re actually looking at these products like a consumer does. Or looking at making a video without it being about thrashing a product for the sake of the clicks.

Seams really odd to say but that actually hit me hard and got me emotional. I recently lost my dad and now wished this came out a few years ago so I could record him in the headset and relive some time with him.

Funny though, no one has ever said the Quest experience was ever that emotionally engaging, thought provoking, or felt like reality. VR gaming, sure, light productivity, possible. Cheaper, for sure, in all senses of the word. And now, META will record and gather data on your Quest usage, including what YOU look at and where you go in your VR world, “anonymized” of course. You really trust Meta with that?

I’ve had the AVP for a month. There are things I like, things I love, and things I can’t wait to improve. I’ve watched basically every review that exists. This review is the most fair, objective one that exists, and the comparison to the others is not even close. This is why I love the device where it is right now. Thank you for articulating this so well!

@@sineadiloveyou I use it for entertainment, but I would say 75% or more of my use is for work. I work remotely and it's really helpful to have the option to spread my work out in space so I can see a lot at once.

I can type faster on PC, watch TV with my family and make video calls without looking like a mortuary specimen. It's an overpriced, overhyped gadget and so it shall remain. Coming back to check on this three weeks later, and people are wholeheartedly sleeping on this video. This deserves WAY more acknowledgment. The most well-versed review of Vision Pro out there.

This is probably the only tech review I've ever seen that has made me feel something, and I've watched a LOT of tech reviews
FPT is in the state of natural progression where this channel brings authenticity, warmth, compassion and most importantly subjectivity to each topic.
What a great video.
While FPT is growing as a channel they are in that sweet spot of being conversational instead of robotic and institutionalized like other channels *cough* MKBHD.

I appreciate you taking time to put out high quality, well produced, and intellectual videos like this. It’s refreshing and in stark contrast to the high volume shallow stuff that some other RUclipsrs spit out just to have content. Your videos are always amusing, but i definitely appreciate the serious Jon putting together some masterpieces like this. This was amazing. I consider myself a "techie" of sorts but you are SPOT ON about reviewers forgetting that for the everyday person, it's the experience that matter. They don't care how many gigawatts something can produce or how many pixels a screen can reproduce. Their only concern is: "Does the thing work?". I guess at the end of the day, Steve Jobs was right. "It just works".

I watched the first half of this on my iPhone and the second half in my Vision Pro. It was like I was traveling into the future within the span of this video.
As a person who has owned every VR/XR headset ever made since 1995 I must say that this is the most amazing device I've ever experienced.

This was exceptional, I literally turned off the TV and came to my computer to subscribe. This was flawless.
That was an amazing video. I was wondering where you were going with it early on but stuck with it and am glad I watched it to the end. After the Vision Pro demo in the store I felt a lot like a did when I used the first 128K Mac. I knew this device was going to be the future even though the original was crazy high-priced and very very limited / very rough around the edges. (9” B/W screen, 128K RAM, 1 400K floppy and no other storage, limited networking, etc, etc). When the first “home computers” were introduced I also saw the possible future, but couldn’t even begin to explain to my wife what I’d use it for. I came up with (an embarrassingly poor response of) “it can keep track of recipes”. I like how you describe the Vision Pro as a “Time Machine” and Vision OS as the killer app. That’s exactly what Mac OS 1.0 and IOS 1.0 were with their accompanying first generation hardware.
I work at an Apple Premium Reseller in Norway and got to test Vision pro a few weeks back. This video explains the experience so well. I was truly jawdroppingly amazed at first. Then my tech brain hit and stuff seemed wonky. But after some time I let my self go, and the magic truly hit again! Surreal experience!

I stop laughing about new Apple products. A few years later it ends up in my house and I can't believe how much I like it. I really "hated" on almost everything they released and I always end up loving the product at the end. I am probably the most ambivalent, kinda hater and "fan in hindsight". But the Apple Vision is silly, overpriced and I have no clue what to really use it for in my personal life. There I said it, I will edit this comment in 5 years.

You need a little vision to see where this is going.
This isn't a review, it's an ad. And I mean that in the worst possible way. It's manipulative (like ads), It tells me what to feel and think (like ads), it's cherry picking trivial things and make em seem life changing (like ads). And worst of all, it tells me to disregard it's obvious shortcomings that have serious impact on the user experience.
The amount of production quality in this video is outstanding, this is an amazing well produced review.
I'm an old fart and have watched hundreds if not thousands of reviews. But this is easily the best I have ever seen. You have great talent Jon and should be snapped up by a TV production company, in fact I'm going to forward this to my friend in the business now!

I never ever saw a review as perfect as this ever. I´m impressed how you have the confidence to put such a title on that video and then deliver in every minute of it. Also you opened a great perspective on how to see products in the future. Everything gets compared these days, everyone just shows graphs and specs, but what a product does to you and with you will define if we should buy it or not. Awesome work Jon, really awesome work!

An outstanding review! And the presenter is right! This IS the only review that anyone thinking of buying an Apple Vision Pro needs to watch. It convinced me that the AVP is possibly one of the most misunderstood tech products in history. Many people are dwelling on the negative aspects of the headset and are overlooking the amazing nature of it.
I genuinely loved this review, the emotions expressed completely took me by surprise (and yes moved me). Without a shadow of a doubt, the best review of a product I’ve ever seen.

I just bought a quest 3 and will receive it in 2 days - and this will be my first experience with VR after those VR glasses you'd put your phone in - but damn, this video made feel like I can't wait until I can buy and test out a AVP. Truly, one of the best reviews I've ever seen.
This is probably the best tech review I’ve watched.
I pick my new one up on May 15th….. AVP will change the life of anyone who gets one. Media will change to incorporate the AVP or something similar. It’s crazy amazing. Just love it. Can’t wait for mine to be delivered.
This is such a great perspective of the Vision Pro. So many people are reviewing this new product and saying that they're "bored" after a couple of days because there isn't much to do on it yet or that the product is a "flop" because it can't do everything they imagined yet. That's not the point of the device - the Vision Pro was released as a tool for people to see the potential and be able to develop of all the ways we could use tech in the future and how our traditional sense of digital technology can change forever. You did such an awesome job explaining this, and hopefully people can realize that this current version is an incredible preview of how technology might look in the future.

You know I agree with you 100% I have had many Macbook Pro's over the years and I just upgraded from the M1 Pro to the M3 Pro Macbook Pro and I found myself caught up in just setting it up and transferring my stuff from my back up and I never realised I got so caught up in the process. I completely forgot to experience it. I even found myself not being excited to open the new mac etc You have summed it up flawlessly!! One day I am sure I shall get the Apple Vision Pro in my own time. Great review! I mean really really great!

When I saw the video, I thought the title was a bit of an overstatement, but…. I agree
Spot on review. The ups and down in the first days and week of using the AVP are captured perfectly.
In those days, I also struggled to find a justification for this expensively piece if hardware. At that price tag there are so many more "practical" things one could buy. And as someone who has gone through two home VR setups, played with the Microsoft HoloLens for work and just generally week informed on the space the technical components you brought up mirror my initial concerns.
For me, the turning point was when i got the pc mirroring working perfectly and then tuned in the environments to my liking that everything clicked. I totally tuned out the fact that i was wearing the AVP and was emersed in my work. It was like i found my own happy place and didn't want to leave. Having coffee while doing my desk job to the vista of the mountains with all of the natural sounds is indescribable. The screen clarity, the spatual sounds, it tricked my brain into believing.
I find myself drawn to it, thinking about it, just wanting to be emersed in my happy place to work, to play games, to watch RUclips.
Having a family with two kids, it is rare to have a moment of peace and alone-ness. Now, once the dust settles, i can retreat to my happy place and just breathe.
Honestly seeing such a serious and well done video from you is a breath of fresh air and you should be very proud of the work you put into this video. This, right here, is a thing of beauty.

Watching your videos are really captivating, intellectual, and informational from a less common perspective. I read a comment below from NerdHaunt and I have to repeat it. -- "This isn't just the best Vision Pro review, it's one of THE best tech reviews, period."
I saw the title say "Literally the ONLY Apple Vision Pro video you need"... I have read similar titles on different products. Sometimes I have gained a valuable perspective from the video and sometimes I have not.
However, not to make this comment too long -- For me, aside from an Apple Vision Pro tutorial video , this is literally the ONLY Apple Vision Pro video I needed to see and the last one that will influence me on this first gen. model.

I like Jon. I get his sense of humor and I enjoy hearing his perspective on tech. But after watching this video, my respect for him is on a whole new level, and I look forward to experiencing vision plus sometime in the future.

Probaly the only review I’ve seen so far that’s Actualy captured the excitement and feeling of hope that I originally felt hearing about the Vision Pro and even trying out my first Vr experinace on a quest
