  • More spring skiing in the Presidentials! Got out for a big day yesterday with @extreme_ryan_delena and had a great time checking out some new lines. We started the day with a skin up the Airline Trail and then ventured over to the top of Great Gully. Fortunately, my crampons that I left on Saturday were still there! After the quick rescue mission we set off for Jefferson Ravine. We got a nice schwack in skiing down Abby’s Way and found the debris from a pretty massive slide that went recently at the base of the ravine. We booted up and skied Jefferson Headwall, then climbed out again to get back over to King Ravine (while fighting some strong winds on the ridge). We had a super fun time skiing the East Gully and then finished the day off with a final lap on Muffin! Had a super sick day on Sunday to skiing Great Gully and Iced Out Gully so keep an eye out for that footage coming soon!

Glad one of our cameras wasn’t running for 48 minutes in a snow pants pocket

Hey I was wondering if you are able to skin up and ski down from the Appalachia trailhead. Did it a few years ago earlier in April and was able to ski all the way back to the trailhead with not decent cover. Besides the water crossings it was nonstop all the way down. Any idea if that’s possible right now?

As of last Tuesday it was skiable for all but the first mile! I’m not too sure how it’s looking now, but it’s probably still skiable down Short Line or Airline for at least half of the trail. The water crossings weren’t bad either when I was up there- most of them you could skin/ski around through the woods
