"Donnie Romero - a pastor who gained national attention after his views on the Pulse nightclub shooting inspired a protest from LGBTQ advocates - has resigned. In a video posted to RUclips, Romero says that he had sinned by paying for sex, gambling and using drugs.
Romero - formerly the pastor of Stedfast Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas - publicly voiced support for the Pulse nightclub gunman, who opened fire inside the popular LGBTQ nightclub in Orlando and killed 49 people. A June 2016 Dallas Morning News report says Romero's words sparked a protest.
'These 50 sodomites are all perverts and pedophiles, they're the scum of the Earth and the Earth is a better place now and I'll take it a step further,' Romero said in a sermon published online, the publication reports. 'I'll pray to God like I did this morning, and I will again tonight, that God will finish the job that that man started,' Romero said."

So the Police and Politicians don't care. So the cops and politicians won't do anything! They even side with the creepy homophobic people. And the police and politicians even partake in the homophobia, or encourage it. They also don't even like Black & brown people in those southern states. And I have even heard of some restaurants and businesses in those areas, refusing black customers.

Over the years, there have been so many news stories about staunchly conservative, anti-LGBTQ Republican politicians and other public figures getting "caught" soliciting sex with other men, etc. Just a month or so ago, there was a story about a local politician somewhere in the south (Tennessee maybe?) who got caught leaving flirtatious comments on the social media posts of a very young man (I think maybe age 18). The politician was a middle-aged man married to a woman, with kids.

To me, the most telling aspect of this story is that even after saying vile, bigoted, hateful words after the Pulse massacre, he continued to have a job as a pastor until now. Proving that the overwhelmingly vast majority of people who call themselves christian use that religion to justify their hatred of anyone they disapprove of, and feel holier-than-thou while doing so. Cuz, there’s no greater hate than “christian love”.

Back in the 90's I had a gay roommate and we worked in a restaurant together and I cannot tell you how many times a couple of couples would come in and he would state how the men are queerer then a three dollar bill because he would see the men in gay bars. The women were clueless.

Sad that many older gays, like me, feel we can't afford to trust any christians. Having seen how hateful many can be, it just isn't worth my personal safety. My default is to run away as fast as I can. Somehow I don't think Jesus would be glad to hear that.
As a fellow senior gay man, I never once have doubted that all of the world's religion are manmade. I don't need religion to be moral, to love and to be kind to others. I learned this from my parent who were not religious whatsoever. I was not raised with religion and only Christians and other religions have interfered and abused me in this life.
