Awesome! So they didn't drop the old school techniques, but improved them so much that they made us think it was all CG. Last trilogy's haters should see this.
12 years since Revenge of the Sith came out and I've only just realized that I've seen Bruce Spence in something else before. He used to be in an Australian sci-fi series called Halfway Across the Galaxy and Turn Left, which was based on a novel of the same title. It only ran for 28 episodes during 1991-92.
The truth is, with movies in general, people just assume too often that everything is done with CGI. Back in the old days, since we didn't have it, people had no idea how they did things unless they understood filmmaking, but now because it exits, people always immediately assume it had to have been done with CGI, which is kind of unfair to modern movies. I guess you can say computers destroyed the very concept of "movie magic".
She is jedi-master Shaak Ti, who is a Togruta, same as Ahsoka, so probably^^ But we will see Ahsoka in The Mandalorian soon, so then we'll know how she looks :)
Here, when all these amasing animatronics and masks are shown almost individually, I appreciate the effort put into them; they are believable, life-like. But on film, they blend with blurred green-screen backgrounds and look fake-ish. Why, oh why would George want to make all the interiors against a green screen.
Yeah, I know it would be more consistent, but on the other hand, they would all look fake like they turned out to be. I think they should make real armors, from metal, and then CG the background clones and make them look consistent. Although it might cosr
ZoldierrZzz Dunno if I was being too picky or somewhat, but I kinda think they look fake and cartoonish - their armors are goddamn clean and reflexive even if they had just been through a sandstorm or explosions (well, actually this happens to live actors too when acting against a blue screen). While I agree that some shots, they can CG the clones (Yoda chopping their head, massive ground battles, etc.) But other close up shots when it's not action packed, they should do it with real armor - especially that scene you mentioned when they pasted Temuera's head on the body. It fooled me as a kid, but when I grown up and know how to catch CGI, I went like "What the fuq" when I saw that.
Because it showed up on my "recommended" list of videos and I was curious. I can see by your name you are a fan of the prequels. I'm guessing you weren't alive yet back in the late 70's. You are of the prequel apologist crowd.
Michael L. It's still unnecessary to talk shit about the Star Wars movies on a channel dedicated TO those movies. It's like going on a The Hunger Games channel and saying the movie is bad. You'll get a lot of hate comments from the fans.
Michael L. I was alive in the late 70's. I was in fact 16 when I first saw Star Wars at my local cinema, and I like the prequels. So that's where your "You like the PT cos you weren't alive in the late 70's to see the original Star Wars first." theory falls a little flat. :) Granted they don't hold as special a place in my heart and mind as the OT does, but they are still part of the Star Wars saga and I do enjoy watching them. I like all things Star Wars, so much so that I am a Star Wars costumer with The Rebel Legion UK. MTFBWY.
Marc Starkiller It also falls flat because I like both the OT and PT. Both of them are awesome. Michael needs to realize just because my name references PT, doesn't mean I like only that.
Take a look inside the Creature Shop to see how Utapauns, Neimoidians and countless other Star Wars species were created!
yeah, that is cool
me too
Really?
Awesome! So they didn't drop the old school techniques, but improved them so much that they made us think it was all CG. Last trilogy's haters should see this.
Everyone that hated the Prequels, just don't get it. If they had better ideas, I wish they made the movies!
Lots of love was put into this movies. I love them OT and PT'
The best film in the prequels, superb film.
I love this! Actual costumes, makeups and animatronics; they make the movie seem so much more organic and real which is a plus.
Great behind the scenes feature from the Star Wars Prequel films. See PT haters not everything in the PT films is CGI'ed all over the place.
Ha, so that's why the Neimoidians all wear big hats - to hide the animatronic bits.

1:28 George Lucas is amazing, the way helped the artist, as an artist himself, was something truly spectacular.

I love how he said the prequel puppets are more sophisticated then the original trilogy puppets. Score one for the prequels
I have this on DVD
Way cool!!!!
7:02 - What a live-action ahsoka would look like in a movie.
She is jedi-master Shaak Ti, who is a Togruta, same as Ahsoka, so probably^^ But we will see Ahsoka in The Mandalorian soon, so then we'll know how she looks :)
Australian accents, actually. It was filmed at Fox Studios Australia.
1:48!! good fur Lucas!
@themcdougalbugle You're right. It was mostly blue screen.

What about Dexter Jettster?
Where's his costume?
Oh.

Now say anything bad about George Lucas and the StarWars movies XD
Or force unleashed 3..
So why can't they make real Clone Armors for the actors to wear but can make these amazing masks, but then CG the clones? Why George?

I whole heartily agree, sir.
Galen Marek i agree the clones looks like crap. and the Company was lazy there was manythings they could have done to make it anything BUT CGI
Dukes Videos Even The Clone Wars Clones looked better
Finally, a comments section on a Star Wars video with no sequel trilogy hate. I can now die in peace.
Cool and make new games. Plzzzzzz dor ps3

and we WANT IT TO BE MILKEDD HAHAAHAH
S U P E R VERY GOOD !! 8/1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 !!!
First to watch
Such a shame that they ruin this stuff with tons of cgi...
They barely used any green screen on the prequels.
Make Battlefront 3 you damn fools. It's a cash cow waiting to be milked.
isnt both brainless compared to knights of the old republic?. There must be a knights of the old republic 3.
Did you miss the part where EVERYTHING BEHIND THEM WAS GREEN SCREEN!? Haha
Battlefront 3? Battlefront 3??? I SAY REPUBLIC COMMANDO 2 not some random brainless multiplayer game
Cause they are not american(pure) or english lol.
Let me answer the title of the video.... CGI
+Xx_iMatthew_xX Wrong.
Kevin Owens Show Ignorant OT suckboi
So much talent wasted on such terrible movies.
If you hated the movies, why are you even watching this video?
Because it showed up on my "recommended" list of videos and I was curious. I can see by your name you are a fan of the prequels. I'm guessing you weren't alive yet back in the late 70's. You are of the prequel apologist crowd.
