“I don’t want to deal with that guy cuz he doesn’t provide for me”=MONEY
“I have to work cuz I don’t want to be with the abusive guy I FINALLY was able to get away from”=MONEY
“I will stay with this guy cuz he provides things I need even though I am not physically attracted to him.”=MONEY
“I never learned how to be, and act around a man cuz I don’t grow up seeing one in the home, so I’ll run like a butterfly from flower to flower cuz I’m unsettled inside, since my mom was a single mom and figured she had to do it alone and never taught me how to be a woman cuz no one taught her” =MONEY
This is no mystery it’s just that we like to point the finger at other things and ignore the cliche “The LOVE OF MONEY… is the root of all evil” Say that’s has nothing to do with anything and I’d say we just had a pandemic and were “forced” to do things cuz we REFUSE TO LOVE OURSELVES and put money above EVERYTHING……

I don't think the idea of cost is limited to financial in this case. Being burnt out by hookup cultures has less to do with money than it does the experience with the many personalities, lust, dynamics, blurred responsibilities/expectations. All of these things after a bunch of seasons tend to keep many folks far away from the hope of ever getting married.
