  • This is the Cesar Diaz Modded '64 Vibroverb Amplifier from Fender. It's a reissue of the classic amplifier that SRV made famous.
    Due to the continued popularity of Stevie Ray Vaughan, in 2001 Fender began collaborating with Cesar Diaz to re-create the modified 1964 blackface Vibroverbs that were used by Vaughan throughout his career. The amp debuted in early 2003.
    Several modifications were made. A toggle switch mounted on the back of the amplifier chassis allows switching between tube (the original) and solid-state rectification; in the latter mode, output is boosted to 50 watts. A second toggle switch allows the player to disable the Normal channel and the Vibrato effect; the preamp gain is increased, and more distortion and sustain is available. This version of the amplifier has a fifteen-inch Eminence speaker and point-to-point wiring

    Just bought the '68 Custom Vibrolux Reverb - SilverFace. Love it! For the money, best amp for low volume control. I live in a condo. Sounds great with my TS-09 Ibanenz tube screamer. Strongly recommend.

    I know it’s hard, but you have to get this amp past 6 on the volume knob to really get the most out of it. Especially with single coils. There is too many demos of black face amps on 3 and pedals to get an OD tone. I think you’re missing out on a lot of charm of a fender amp. Get an attenuator and crank it.

      Jay Valentine I have this amp and I can honestly say I’ve never heard anything this good aside from an original. I never knew my tone could be so good. I got lucky and found a used one for $1,500 usd. I’ll never ever ever sell it hahaha. If he would have cranked it a little you could have heard it really shine. I replaced original speaker with a Weber California and it makes it even better.

    • @deweypug
      @deweypug 9 лет назад +2

      Airbloom Amplifiers It actually does compare very favorably to the original. I think its all in the ear of the beholder... the old ones do have that old paper cone speaker, which are nice... But this 64 reissue had boutique amp makers scrambling to copy it... Flattery speaks volumes.

    • @airbloomamplifiers
      @airbloomamplifiers 9 лет назад +1

      deweypug I give up 52 years of being a serious professional guitar player and reason to have an informed opinion just because you say so? Would you be brave enough to hear the difference? I can easily prove to you what I am talking about. That does not mean you can hear it though does it?

    • @deweypug
      @deweypug 9 лет назад +5

      Airbloom Amplifiers We are discussing the same amplifiers, one a reissue and the original, we obviously are into the same tone - you prefer the vintage model and I like both. My comment was that the two are comparable, not that one is better than the other. I feel the reissue is less prone to failure and with the two mods makes it a more flexible amplifier for me.

      I always thought they sounded “bigger”. Lol. Guess what I mean is listen to an 8, 10, and 12 inch speaker. The smaller seems punchy but as they get bigger the sounds more rounded.
      At least that’s what I hear between laying with my 12 inch compared to my 10 inch speaker.

    not meaning to be the AH here but an original un-modded vibroverb sounds a lot (a ton) better than this. I have heard many amps that nail this demoed tones but none that does what the brown or blackface vibroverb does.

      Ok so Nathan Adkins, any dog can be trained/taught to be aggressive or mean, because they are a dog, they do not have complex emotions and thought processes like humans do. I have seen very aggressive and mean small dogs due to their human not caring enough or showing them enough love. I live with two "pitbulls" also known to the dog community as the staffordshire terrier. Lily, one of them, is the sweetest dogs in the world, if I allowed it, she would lick my face all day, and both of the "pitbulls" I live with cannot stand the sound of gunshots, it scares them to death. All of the mean aggressive dogs I have met or encountered in my life have been that way due to the human interactions they have and what they are taught to be acceptable. To further prove my point look at the dog on the couch in this video, she/he is just chillin next to their human while he plays a very loud amp, looks to me like a great relationship where the dog can feel comfortable and loved enough to sleep through some loud guitar playing haha. Anyways isn't this video supposed to be about This amazing modded amp?
      intheblues thank you for the video
      Great guitar playing by the way, keep it up sounds great man

      pat tuman thats your opinion...some ppl assume pits are dangerous (bc of the overwhelming evidence and bite statistics...google it) but you're certainly free to have whatever opinion you want. i treat them like a higher risk dog, ill never own one or let my kids near one, and anyone else's opinion means zero to me.
