All, please let me know if you feel recording in HDR is helping you perceive what I'm talking about. I want to help everyone out as much as possible to understand what the different settings too. SDR just doesn't quite capture it in my opinion. This takes a lot longer to render, but I think it's worth it!
Also, any background hiss you hear will be fixed next video... I run a small fan on my Sony A7IV so I can run 10 bit 4k video. It causes the camera to heat up a lot. This fan negates the overheating and allows me to record for an extremely long time

@@bungalowtomcat1 I tell people the b7 is about 85 to 90% of the Bravia 9's picture quality. The difference is the ultra bright segments in HDR content and games where the Bravia 9 shines through. The Bravia 7 also doesn't have x wide angle so you'll have more fall off at a shallower angle. The Bravia 7 is a great TV for the money.

@@bungalowtomcat1 how much did you get to play with the actual tv settings? For me, the Bravia 9 and Bravia 7 shine best when you can crank them to their peaks. As I said in my original comment, you can get about 85 to 90% of the Bravia 9 picture from the Bravia 7. They share the same processor. The biggest difference will be the x wide angle being absent, blooming control should be better, especially in a dark room, and the brightest brights will definitely favor the Bravia 9. The native contrast of the Bravia 9 is also higher than the b7. That being said, the Bravia 7 is still a phenomenal TV for the price of it. If you mess with the settings of any TVs you can really get a quality image. You're comparing the highest end Sony to a high end Sony tv... So both TVs will be incredible haha

@ thank you for the response. It seems like it’s almost impossible to avoid this issue on modern TVs. If it’s not that it’s stutter/judder. I found the S95D to have it no matter the setting. The tv could be smooth but it didn’t like motion around people’s heads. I’m currently using a G4 55” as it seems to handle these obstacles better but I just came from a much older Sony X900e and haven’t been able to capture its clarity or colours. I debated on upsizing to a 65” G4 but placed an order for the Bravia 9 over the A95L. I have a very bright space. 17th floor, corner unit facing all the mid day and late afternoon sun, the blinds I have don’t cut all the light out and the X900E was impossible to watch during the day if there was a dark scene. The S95D did well but did have a lot of diffused light, the G4 has faired well but I’d have ordered a 65” Bravia 9 as between that and a G4 seem to be the best all arounders depending on your setting. I like that I won’t have to worry about burn in… I hope I made the right choice as the return window for the LG G4 is closing quick.

Thank you for a great video and your enthusiasm; good to see someone this happy about their purchase. I just ordered 77” A95L but Bravia 9 in 75” would save me $1300. Love the oled contrast, that crisp image, but also the versatility of Bravia 9. Another reason for oled is that my chair is at about 30 degree angle 10’ away from the tv, so in your honest opinion, would there be a big loss in colour and more blooming, or is it a lot more evident at higher angles, and would you say the contrast gets to be 80-90% of OLED, or is it a lot more noticeable. I don’t play video games, just movies, regular tv shows and sports. Much appreciate any input.

@@partizanbgd0113 hi! Thanks for the comment 😁 I have stood off angle at about 30 degrees and don't notice a raise in blooming or a dropoff in color personally. You will definitely notice it fall off more the more drastic the angle is. With how big the TV is and the distance you're at, I don't think you'd see much, if any falloff.
I actually think the contrast is in the ballpark of OLED too. I was watching my a90j yesterday just after watching my Bravia 9 and it's not a huge difference in perceivable contrast. What you gain in brightness more than makes up for it in my eyes. I was noticeably more immersed in the content. Also, I was watching the Michigan basketball game and some of the NFL games today and the motion is clean and smooth. In sdr the colors are vibrant and lifelike. You will not need to push the brightness to be happy with the tv

At that size, mini LED is a wise choice as I believe new content will continue to come out in higher nits and Bravia 9 somewhat future proofs you, and OLEDS “should” continue to evolve and drop in price.
