I was fortunate enough to be a student of Vlad’s when he was in NY/NJ. For all you Texans reading this and considering training with Vlad, stop thinking and go take a class. The environment in any martial arts school always starts with the instructor and Vlad makes it a priority to foster a positive atmosphere to help his students grow. Whether you’re a seasoned grappler or have never been on a mat before, Vlad is the instructor for you.

Vlad is a friend, and a mentor. One of the best coaches out there.
As shown here, Vlad's got some of the best uchi mata setups/variations that work across multiple grappling rulesets.

    I been learning from
Vlad ever since the first moment I shook his hand. He is such a rare combination of knowledge, experience, passion, and humility that is hard to find in such high level instruction. Since that handshake, he has become an extended part of the family. My brother who inspires me from afar while I look forward to our next date on the mats. Seize every opportunity you get to step on the mats with Vlad. You will become a better grappler and person, and I can assure you won’t ever regret it. ❤

Awesome video! Brings back fond memories of when I trained with Vlad years ago. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of gi and no-gi grappling and is a true master of the stand-up and ground aspects. Beyond that, he’s always training himself and never misses a chance to work personally with all of his students, regardless of rank, in order to help them develop their skills. If you get a chance to train with him, don’t pass it up!
