    Really good information.
    I have tinnitus in both ears I have lost hearing in the higher pitch for which I have hearing aids . The aids do help a little.
    I've tried using normal earphones but Ithey make my tinnitus worse.
    I think it's what you said
    the ear phones condense the sound in the ear in an unnatural
    way. I may try the
    Bone conduction phones as I do a lot of
    Barbershop singing .
    We use teacher tracks so these earphones
    might be helpful.

    I've been using Aftershokz for a couple of years - they're great. The sound may not be quite as good as the other Bluetooth earbuds I've had but everything else is better. Typically, I put them on in the morning and take them off at night, whether they are playing or not. The battery life is amazing.

      They are not hearing aids but when they are connected via Bluetooth, you may be able to hear phone calls better since they are streaming and providing input directly to the cochlea.

    This is an old video, so I doubt you will ever see this question, but just in case: I have tinnitus, as well as old eardrums that get tired pretty quickly. For many years I enjoyed creating music using my computer, but my tinnitus and the sensitivity of my ears made that too uncomfortable for it. So I stopped. I can't listen to music very long, especially through headphones, without the ringing getting loud and my ears beginning to ache. I'm 76 years old as of today. When I was 21 I was in a couple of explosions in Vietnam that damaged my hearing for a while, perforated my right eardrum. My hearing came back for the most part. But at different times in my life I have had tinnitus. Considering the different way that bone conduction headphones provide hearing, would they be something I could use successfully and begin my music production hobby again? Would their method of providing sound directly to the cochlea circumvent my problems with listening to music?

    • @treblehealth
      @treblehealth  16 дней назад

      We are sorry to hear that you've had to stop creating music due to your tinnitus and sound sensitivity. While bone conduction headphones are a great option, you may experience the same outcomes. We would be happy to help guide you in overcoming your hyperacusis and habituating to your tinnitus. • @treblehealth
      @treblehealth  4 месяца назад

      No, Aftershokz headphones are not designed to provide amplification for hearing loss. They are primarily headphones for listening to audio and are not substitutes for hearing aids. For amplification options tailored to your specific hearing loss and preferences, I recommend visiting your local audiologist.

    I have had Tinnitus for years, no one has ever addressed it even though I have let my health care providers know about it many times...I had no idea there was any kind of treatment, or help available. Thank you for helping people like me by reviewing things that can help...Next time I see my Doctor I am going to ask again what they can do to help me with tinnitus, I think maybe they don't understand how much this bothers me because I really don't fuss or complain, I just mention what is going on with me.

    I have 50% hearing loss in my left ear and 20% in the right ear. I also hate have hearing aids in in my ears for several reasons. My Aftershokz headset is awesome and it goes everywhere with me. If I could find a high quality bone conductive headset, which also had adjustable microphones that picked up ambient sounds like the television, etc., my hearing aids would become past tense. Walkers make such a set, but the sound quality is poor from what I've seen on reviews. Do you know of such a device that you could review or recommend?

    I'm going into week 3 of mystery tinnitus. What a nightmare. I don't have time to wallow and am motivated to figure out how to have high quality of life. I think I need to find a way to mask throughout the day (Raycons not working while I teach or try to have family conversations!)

    • @ShaferHart
      @ShaferHart 2 месяца назад

      CAREFUL. Masking it is a double edged sword that could end up worsening the underlying tinnitus. You have to be careful because some of those "masking" devices are approved to treat tinnitus but they're still producing sound right into your ear potentially making the underlying condition WORSE--they're a scam as far as I'm concerned. I'm lucky that my tinnitus is basically white noise that gets lost in other sounds for most of the day (during quiet times I can tell it's there but only if I focus on it, if I don't think about it it "disappears") but I can tell you that if I use any kind of earphones or headphones for a sustained period of time IT GETS WORSE. This is a degenerative condition, can hardly get any better if it's "set in", so I've been avoiding earphones and headphones for years now in order to not substantially worsen my quality of life by worsening the tinnitus. I just remembered that bone conduction headphones exist and thought that maybe they could "bypass" the area that is affected by tinnitus and I could start using headphones again but no, at the end of the day the sound is still interpreted in the same place and affects the same area. Maybe it's not as bad but it still must have an impact. Be safe.

      Both are safe options. It is a matter of preference, some people do not like having devices inside or on their ears. If you are one of these people, the Aftershokz are a good option. They also have the ability to leave your ear canal open so your brain can obtain more sound stimulation and get "distracted" from the tinnitus, leading to habituation.
