Whenever Emily uses the scissors I experience what I can only term 'existential dread'. This was another great video! I really liked it.
lmaooo the stakes are HIGH in these unboxing videos!!!
@@emilyharpist You need john carpenter soundtracks playing during the blade selection process.
I know. Box cutters are worse.
lol seriously. A boy scout and a 5 minute tutorial would ease the anxiety of so many haha
I was so nervous. She plays the harp but handles BLADES like THAT?!?!
Remember, always cut towards you. That way, you can use your body to stop the blades from hitting other people.
My dad always said "cut away from your body and toward your buddy!"
funny but this is the correct cutting technique for potatoes and carrots and other veggies. Sure you can cut away from yourself like a toddler, or you can safely stop the blade with your thumb and go fast.
@@oscarlove4394 I don't think people use scissors to cut veggies
It has to be noted that the editing on this video is top tier.
hahah thank you so much!!!!!
I love how sincere all these videos are. Even the funny moments are built on sincerity. It's clear you love music so much that even when you're doing something funny there's a level of love behind it that is just so heartwarming.
The gameboy through the micro kinda sounds like the dreams you had as a kid when your parents told you to switch it off and goto bed but didnt want to lol
Omg you’re so right hahah
Hey Emily Hopkins and Russ! Your stratospheric level of enthusiasm for those electronic art devices made my day! Ride ride ride!
Ride ride ride!!!
That circuitbent farmer says toy is one of if not the funniest instrument I've ever heard
haha I KNOW RIGHT?!? one of my favorites ❤️
I pretended to go to the bathroom to watch this at work just now. So worth it, dont tell my boss 😎
**someone walks past bathroom, hears **8:47** muffled from the other side of the door, plus bathroom reverb**
6:21 Emily's reactions and facial expressions are priceless. This video was a lot of fun!
This started out as a trip to the hospital, turned into a trip on mushrooms. Your videos are a trippy experience
It's amazing how nervous I get by just seeing you with an unopened package. It's basically tradition at this point.
I love how they designed all this stuff, and I probably might just have to buy that gameboy just to play my old games.
Pretty sure anybody that can make 1 thing spell 2 words is a master of the dark arts
Lmfao TRUE
Emily is so adorable...had me truly laughing out loud on this one. And of course first and foremost an excellent musician..
Hahah thank you so much, Matt!!! I really appreciate you and I’m so glad you’re enjoying the channel!! 🥰💖 thanks for being here with us ☺️🎶
@@emilyharpist you're so funny. Really enjoy the silliness you guys add to the show.
Thank you for always being a joy to watch and thank you for turning us onto the light delay. 🙏🏾
Seeing how the light sensors in those pedals worked makes me wonder how a light sensor expression pedal would work.
It would work like the laser one in THIS video - ruclips.net/video/Ae249y2hk1Q/видео.html
They have them. Last time I tried one was probably 20 years ago. They weren't impressive then but almost everything you buy nowadays works great.
'Listen to the Cat' ends up becoming 2022's #1 hit single
Lmaooo dropping soon!!! 👀
It's pretty cool how everything in the Gameboy just keeps working even when changing the clock frequency quite extremely. Except the display that goes a bit wonky when it refreshes too slowly. Have you seen Look Mum No Computer building his Gameboy mega machine synth btw?
The harp with the light delay sounds amazing, I could totally listen to that all day
Wow, this is one of my favourite videos from Emily!!! I love seeing circuit bent stuff and innovative or different ways of using/controlling sound or effecting it. Great stuff all round!!!
These videos are so much fun. Love the range of OK HOUSECAT presents you got.
How utterly fantastic, what a wonderful mind that person has. It's one thing to be clever enough to be able to devise and build those circuits but to make them look as good as they do is entirely at a different level of creativity.
Thanks for sharing these, Emily. As a musician and electronics enthusiast I loved this. They put me in mind of Roy Lichtenstein's work and he's always been one of my favourite artists.
That laser harp sounds dope.
Right?!? I can’t wait to play with it more!
Any time anyone messes with a Farmer Says toy, my brain goes straight to "The Devil says..." and right into Chris Cornel's rhythm part.
Yes my guy. Yes!
Such a good song
These are a lot of fun!! Thanks for sharing!! Great video Emily and Russ!!
Thanks for being here Doug!!
I've never seen a person so skilled with the scissors 🤣🤣🤣 that thing you did when you threw the box and open it while in mid air ninja style wow very cool stuff
Lmfao NO ONE TAUGHT ME HOW TO USE SCISSORS!!!
@@emilyharpist my heart stops for a second every time you grab either a cutter or scissors xdd
She never got cut, her ninja style works. Waiting for a video with only boxes openings with scissors
8:49 OH MAN I wanted to hear the rest of that! This toy is amazing, OK Housecat is STUNNING.
The Ok Game Boy + Microcosm is INSTANT vaporwave.... amazing!!! 😍😍
ill never get sick of random pedals and the harp, what an instrument
I loved all the toys, but my favorite was the last one. With the light sensor it feels like it has so much potential and flexibility to play with!
Been following OKHousecat for a while now. Awesome to see some of these creations used here. I dig them all!
Awesome and super fun video! I'm so glad you guys support these kind of out-there audio products. Cheers!
Those are amazing!!! Such a brilliant expression of musical creativity!
Reminds me of the time when I sheered off the top of my ring finger breaking down a box with a pair of scissors. The pain started in earnest about 12 hours later. Good times!
That drop when the cow says eyyyaaaahhhggggggggg was pretty sick
Lmfao EYAHHHHGGG
Unique and functional artistry from OK HouseCat! I love your enthusiasm! Nice to get the dog in there for the animal noises part. Thanks Emily!
The joy tho.
Thank you for sharing it.
That gameboy part felt like being 9 again, eating way too much pizza and soda, fading into a food coma, playing pokemon Green. Great stuff all around
If I had seen her opening a box BEFORE I had seen her play I probably would not have subbed.
Lmao well no more box operating! I swore it off
That was awesome! So imaginative, trippy and nostalgic. ❤️✨️
I'm relatively new to this channel, this experience but I gotta say this girl has such a great energy around her it's contagious. Glad I happened onto her videos. Stay you ✌️❤️
That's so cool, loved the Gameboy through the Microcosm. I still have to do something with my Cat keyboard I got after your video last year...
With all that has been going on in the world, I really needed this... Thank you soooo much!!!
Thanks Tim!!!
OK Housecat's gadgets and gizmos spark joy. So colorful and nostalgic.
I'd love to hear some of the Gen 1 Pokémon cries processed through one of his Gameboys and the Microcosm (i.e. Mewtwo, Parasect, etc.).
That was absolutely awesome! Love the 3D print out of your names and the cute dog!
Wow those are some crazy, amazingly imaginative devices! The delay sounded really nice. Cool stuff!
Emily, thanks for turning us on to Ok Housecat! Such a genius!
That's a cool bunch of gadgets, Emily! I'll be checking out OK Housecat. Thanks a bunch, lady!!
Thanks Andrew!!
I absolutely adore the aesthetic of these gadgets!
😁 So many fun toys! Great video! 👍
OK they're pretty skilled with that 3D printer... But can they 3D print you an entire (playable) harp? Great video as always, you two. Keep up the positive energy, love to see it.
the 3D printing skills are nuts!!!
@@emilyharpist imagine a full harp frame for that laser harp…actually, I think people have made one.
@@emilyharpist imagine a full harp frame for that laser harp…actually, I think people have made one.
dude these are so fun! The "listen to the cat" part got me good :D
Worth a whole video.
Wow. Last song is gorgeous.
Super fun video! Really cool gadgets and very cool sounds! Thank you!!
Emily has way too much power now, she's unstoppable
This is insane, my respect to OK House Cat!
🤣🤣 I loved it when your dog answered the Farmer toy!!
Hilarious video, and wow the end sounded so good on that delay!!
Fun video, the light delay is so cool! Big theremin vibes. (also that necklace is incredible!!)
Plays harp beautifully, 🎶
Wields scissors ✂️ dangerously!
😂🐈
🤣 D-Light-Full! The whole box! ❤️
Ohhhhhhh my noise brain! This was amazing. I'm also having a conversation with a friend about my son's videos. He's autistic and has a RUclips channel. The discussion is his video on "lots of cats inc.". He digs logos and did one of his own and that's somewhat relevant to the amazingness presented this (for me) evening. Ok housecat is amazingness and of course Russ and Emily are always the highlight of my day....
imagine playing live through a delay with a light sensor and yelling to the sound guy mid set "theres not enough light on my board!"
That camera work on the scissor hand is really great! Helps with the suspense.
Man... you are sooo close to 100K subs!! You’ve come so far... it’s awesome to see someone so deserving of good things actually achieve success. You’re great at what you do...
Love the performance at the end ❤
I loove "the cow says ..," clip's track omg
Such cool and creative stuff! When I saw the laser harp I had to think of Jean Michel Jarre and his full-size instrument, as seen on the live in Houston/Lyon gigs.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣That Farmer Says toy has me busting a gut!!! 🤣🤣🤣I had the actual string pulled toy of that one.
Oh man, I laughed harder watching this than I have in a long time. In a good way! These weird electronic things are fun as hell! I recently got a reverb pedal, the first pedal that takes me into territory even approaching what y'all do, and it sure is fun! Learning a lot just from the sounds you folks get. Thanks!
Ok, after all of the outcry about Emily's inability to open a box, I think that she was trolling us with the box cutter. I gotta say though, that I really enjoy your enthusiasm after opening the package(s). You get the coolest toys! And I really enjoyed the music you put out with the light delay. Thanks a lot for another great video, Emily and Russ! Keep it up.
The piece at the end with the pedal was amazing...
dude all of your outfits are amazing, you're a goofyass ray of sunshine and your playing is simply the tops
that scarab beetle pendant thing fucking rules too
Conclusion: don't ever let technically and musically aware people get bored, or they'll create some ABSOLUTELY RADICAL inventions.
I think Emily's reaction is the same as just about everyone- What is this? And wow. And ooo, that's cool...
Greetings from the UK 👍🏻🇬🇧
My god, that delay pedal is amazing. I wanna see how it interacts with stage lighting!
I love this. I did an art installation on a few circuit bent devices back in 2005. I imagine it's hard to find speak n spells and casio sk4's nowadays. I still have a yamaha analog synth in my closet. This makes me want to open it up. I especially like OK Cats use of CdS cells.
Emily there hasn't been a single video on this my new favorite channel that doesnt make me smile and that I dont find fascinating. very well done content. congrats.
One of my favorite videos you’ve made!
Your videos are such a blast to watch. I love your channel! and I can't wait to hear some overblown coyote howls on my next camping trip!
I’m a big fan of the game boy and the endless possibilities with pedals and classic game boy music
That final song, especially with all the creepy note-bending, reminded me of the game Earthbound.
Love this Vid that much! Especially when you realize the 3-D-neon-green-lettering-art-trophie of both of you (Emily Russ) at 01:01. And part of circuit bent machine "Farmer Says" (with cameo appearance of Kevin) on 07:35 is absolutely great 'n cuteee!!!
Ok Housecat is a genius.
Either that or he is an alternate 80's future time-traveller.
That farmer toy is geninsane...
OJ Housecat is like 60s acid.
Well, as always, this Is ABSOLUTELY like no other "music" presentation on the interwebs.... Thankyouthankyouthankyou....
You, young lady, are what we oldsters(68) called a "pip"
More, please????
Listen to the CAT!!!! Amazing stuff.
Wow! These inventions are inspiring!
sounds cool
Dude, sweet. The gba pedal !
Russ, you've really gotta stop giving Emily sharp implements. I'm terrified for her fingers.
Wow Jean Michel Jarre in 90' played laser harp in Paris.
You're playing it in home and charge phone simultaneously xD
Groovy!
woah, loved it.
That was a blast!
Great stuff
I THOUGHT YOUR FINGER WAS IN THE SCISSOR AND THEN YOU CLOSED IT OMG EMILY
This is a lovely bouquet of gadgets and doodads. The world always needs more Game Boy, and that particular one is bonkers (and also partially a Switch??).
The built-in sawng brings me so much joy. You know what brings me more joy? Doom chicken.
Looking forward to Emily Hopkins ft. Migos "Listen to the Cat (Skkkrat)".
That new Jordan Peele movie with the horse farm? Soundtrack done. Completed.
Light Delay is actually such a gorgeous sounding effect and pleasingly compact, plus has good warbles. OK Housecat is one cool cat.
I deem this episode
OK
OK HOUSECAT WOW!!!!! What crazy gadgets you have.
Cool AF to the max!!!
Thanks Ed!!!!
Emily you just upped your game for music and musical or musicians now where she takes the music journey now it’s beautiful
Ok Housecat is the best! Very cool!
I have no children, but now I feel like I have experienced the joy of watching a Christmas morning present opening session.
This is fun. Great video!
Thanks Eric!!!
That light sensor delay pedal is so cool!
