I absolutely love the implication at the beginning that before even knowing zombies existed, your character's first instinct when waking up with amnesia is to try jack the first car they see

Watches are very important.
I plan on getting this game whenever nzxt decides to let me buy the pc I want.

I get this. But I always wait for the first digital watch. Screw the classic. But, you show me a fancy, shiny, metallic watch? .....gimme.
@@deathminion11 Knowing what time it is becomes very important in that game. So you can use either digital watches or alarm clocks.
Both tell time (duh) and have an alarm that can be turned off (very important as well > an alarm that goes off will make noise and may attract zombies).
Digital watches though also tell you the temperature and the date.
Date is important because it gives you information on what kind of weather to expect depending on the season: dry, sunny, cloudy, rainy, snowy, foggy, etc...
Temperature is important because it can affect your health:
-in cold weather you may catch a cold.
-in hot weather your thirst will increase.
And being able to tell time? Well... let's say you don't really want to find yourself outside when it's dark: because you won't be able to see zombies.

BEGINNERS TIPS: Keep a Water Bottle on you Directly You'll Automatically Drink from it.
Always try to keep some food on you,.
If you Find a TV (and the Powers still on), Turn it to "Life and Living" and watch it for free XP at 6:00 AM (Cooking), Noon (Carpentry) and 6:00 PM (Fishing/Foraging.) It will Broadcast for about 8 days. Turn the Volume at "1", and you can still do things in the room (Like Reading the Skill Books for XP increases).
To Mark on your Map you need a Pen (Regular or Colored) and/or a Pencil, to Erase mistakes you need an Eraser.
The Town he Spawned in is Grapeseed.
Did you know, a box of crayons will act as all colors?
I sorta died internally when he didn't grab the wrist watch off the dead zombie outside the garage door in the beginning of the video
Wake up near a dumpster, try to jack a car but it has no gas. People start making a fus and coming for you, so you break into the garage, beat them down with a snow shovel you just found, curb stomp them until their anger subsides, and steal their clothes. As one does. *subscribed*

I’ve seen visually empty shelves behind counters in small shops and they have cigarettes and other things in the most of the time
doesn't discount the hilarity, but the modding community has identified several mods that cause shelves with things to appesr empty. Redstone or Rock Ridge, I forget which, is having that exact problem right now.
@JimJamTheAdmin Really? I don't think I have those, but thanks for a reminder anyway since other mods might be affecting the visibility of items on shelf and stuff!! :D
I'm getting the feeling that if a zombie apocalypse ever did happen, this would probably how someone would act after the main all hell breaking loose situation happens and how the people still alive would act.
I think that's what PZ is trying to accomplish just being a normal person in a zombie apocalypse not like the MAIN character. They even state "this is how you died" its pretty cool
@@Maska-1sch makes sense, sad thing for me is because I've played alot of l4d, dead rising and dying light, I'm too stubborn and try to NOT die but I end up just doing what the game intended and dying anyways.
@@marcoamazo The most likely chance of a zombie outbreak happening during our lifetime would be if some superior space aliens were entertained by the idea of a zombie apocalypse and then use their superior technology to make it happen on Earth. The chances of a zombie outbreak happening as a result of nature or mistakes of human scientists during our lifetime is almost impossible.
Idk man knowing damn near everything from building a house to making electricity on your own while surrounded with zombies and having the mental energy to read till you pass out sure doesnt sound normal like it or not games will never not have power fantasy its in someway going to be ridiculous i mean you have to be a genius to go deus ex machina in a zombie apocalypse on your own and being a genius isnt normal

😂 first tought walking out the house is too look for a car too loot and steal then proceds to go to the store with the intent to get food with no money see what looks like crackheads so decides to beat ‘em with a shovel and bash they skulls in 😂
Rick was the exact same in TWD when he first awoke in the hospital. He saw the “DONT OPEN DEAD INSIDE” not even knowing about zombies until he’d seen them wandering around the neighborhood where the first survivors lived. And by first survivors, the first ones that he encountered after he woke up surrounded by fading impressions of a dead world 2 months gone.
I love it. I absolutely love it. I can't get enough of this guy. Looking forward to upcoming episodes.

Smoker is one of the _worst traits_ in the game... I don't understand why everyone thinks it's free points.
It's essentially "Permanent massive maul on crit chance and accuracy, but you have the chance to be average for 5 minutes with a rare drop".
Isometric view is like when a bad scary movie wont turn the camera to show you what the character is seeing. This is the game version of that

Man that first building would make a great base if you take out the stairs and use ropes to get up and down use the "office" area as a storage room full of shelves it has a kitchen you would have to get a bed, tv and radio but it has a roof for the generator, water barrels and gardening

I'll never understand why people take the "disassemble furniture" route rather than just cutting down trees for planks. it's guaranteed and the trees grow back.
In a game of limited resources it just makes sense to mainly use the renewable stuff first, and on a server that might have resource respawn it's even more important, since loot only spawns in the pregenerated furniture! It's common courtesy to not disassemble anything!
But you also need nails and the furniture gives nails right ?
@@TinyCloud90 Nails also spawn on shelves. you get a LOT more that way. Besides, this is just about leveling the skill. sawing logs gives XP all the way up.
@@VME-Brad you are not wrong, my problem is that my axe always breaks and I have tons of hammers rn, so it’s easier to disassemble, but I’m not playing on a multiplayer server w other people so it doesn’t matter xD but ur not wrong

I'd go collect all the VHS tapes I could and open a blockbuster rentals for players to come rent a both and a VHS tape or two.

I play on a multiplayer server that is consistently at 15+ people and peaks around 30, they keep the sleep turned on, and we don't all have to sleep at the same time, but the time doesn't speed up while sleeping just like while reading
Immediately hooked. I was initially looking for someone playing this game to use as background noise while I worked, but instead, I found a great playthrough and interesting story that I couldn't pull my attention away from. I HAVE to know where's Rosie! Great job!

Trust me you simply need to get the hang of it, I used to think the same and now I'm obsessed with playing it too. Once you get into mods, into the mechanics of the game and you start getting good at it. It gets so fun

In project zomboid ive learned that the longer you aim with your gun at a zombie the accuracy increases.
Man litterally I remember searching up one time "Games where you can get bitten by zombies and turn into one" when I was a little younger and it came up like a mod for dayz and some trash looking games and then project zomboid. I thought project zomboid sounded cool so I went on the steam page and then I just understood nothing cus of the perspective you play with in PZ. I have no experience playing games with that like 3rd person view where its like sims honestly, and I thought it was litterally just one of those trashy zombie games that just a few ppl played and then just stopped even caring about it existing but only 3 days ago, I searched up Project zomboid on youtube and watched this video and I realized, this is legit such a good game. And now im sitting here watching this series while learning Project Zomboid. I never thought I would play project zomboid but it is so freaking awesome. The details, I love it. And the fact that you can get bitten here and actually turn when you die, is amazing itself cus I dont know any other zombie games that has that feauture. My favorite zombie game is SCUM and it is a really really good game with a lot of cool details and realism but I just really wanted to play a good game with a "get bitten and turn" feauture and I found this masterpiece of a game. Loving it so far. It is really hard for me to get used to the controls but I know I will get used to them after some time. I love the shoving and stomping on the zombies man so satisfying.
This is such a good series to hear/watch when doing work. I like it.
you're missing alot of loot containers by scrolling, just like here 10:17 - you didnt check two boxes, only empy shelves and one box. Just click at the containers

At the place where you spawn i build base, put gates on both sides and later connected it to gas station and walled it off, its best base if you want something new

...Um, not quite? Laceration is way worse than a scratch. Scratch is 7% chance of being infected with the zombie virus, whereas laceration is 25%, literally 1 out of 4 chance to die. A laceration means you might want to check if your testament is up to date. :P
Physically I know this, but in game for whatever reason its the least likely to cause infection. Bite is death. Scratch is a maybe.

I may not be a fan of zombies as a concept, but the game is just great in spite of them. :P
I actually bought the game in 2013, had 20hrs, and then didn't play it for 8 years :O a great surprise to find out it was being supported and had come such a long way!

You only really need the sledgehammer for removing staircases and fence. Hammers and katanas are enough to smash in doors and garages. I usually go for the basic toolkit - hammer, saw, screwdriver - and a knive first and add to it later on.

I like to spec into short blunt when i start out, hammers are easy to find and are lightweight i carry two (you never know) plus they are multi purpose and using blunt weapons on zombies dont damage their clothes

Where you spawned is the god dam best place. Easily defended easily barricaded, huge garage for vehicles, food warehouse to the east, gas and restaurants AND the PMC building loaded with guns all within a cell it’s wild!

Ah, the humble beginnings!
Despite all that you have great talent in editing and narrating, and know about 50-70% of game’s mechanics, so I’m definitely not dropping this play-through!

Addendum:
I really like watching newer-to-the-game people play, since, if you played it since alpha, you have kind of survived for years already, knowing all do’s and don’t-s. But newer player gameplay feels like these first couple seasons of Walking Dead. The character is still new to this whole lifestyle and is still adapting to this rough world.
I’m also playing immersively - so destroying cupboards and not cutting trees is because im not treating it like a game where I worry about respawns. But thank you all the same :P I pretty much never play any game in an optimal way, genuinely because its not as fun to me. Sometimes I do forget obvious things though.
Like a lot of people also tell me to turn on outlines for melee attacks. Never gonna do it!
