      First week just watch the tv. As soon as you spawn in, run to tv, turn on, and change the challenge, volume on 1. 6/12/18. First thing kill everything around your house outside, loot a digital watch, Set alarms. Then loot the house next to you. Stock up the food. Then go back home and watch tv for a week. Also watch the 24:00 show too. It kills your boredom.
      Then your next play throughs will be this. Start, watch the first show(if its on). Run directly to a book store with one weapon. Use the starter pack option. Gives ya a half dead hammer and bat and a small bag. Run directly to the book buiilding and loot every book. Then run back home before the 12:00 show. Loot houses next door get watch, etc.
      I also have a real nice trait setup where i learn fast i read fast i dont need to eat or sleep much, i dont get scared much my fitness and strength maxed. I start the game as a melee killer who doesnt sleep or eat much rarely get tired or scared. It works awesome. I take high thirst and a bunch others. Also I didnt really get the game and do well till about 250 hours. Now I play on 4.0 insane pop with max pop on day 1 and common difficulty with no infection death. It's so much fun. I've just finished part 15 and came back here to thank you Otto!
    It's the most complete and useful series I've come across on the subject. Such good explanations and attention to details, that's so helpful. Especially a bunch of little things that you can otherwise learn only by playing the game for a really long time.
    Would love to see more :)

      I do my brother and still die in the first 4-5 hours as soon as Zombies lay eyes on me, combat feels clunky or just takes some using to but the immersion is unreal for a pixelated game =) it's so brutal and beautiful in a twisted way, i'm glad I discovered it. Complex yet it has a logical and intuitive way of doing things. Not even mentioning mods because I can't even do vanilla properly, the learning curve is steep but it locks in easy. Developers are geniuses.

      @@tommerker8063 thanks mate, been playing like crazy since, since i love the game. I have mastered the knowledge of all skill now, cars, combat and building with the exception of farming that i never touched. I think it's time to dive into mods since vanilla seems a bit dull after you get the base going or i might RP/set some challenges somehow like getting to the LV bridge from the other side of the map.
      question: how do you guys keep urselves entertained in solo after securing a base and getting all the meds, guns, food ever wanted?

    So far the only difference with Conspicuous and Inconspicuous is that slow turn look over the shoulder animation happening more often, or less often. So my guess is it makes you less noticable so it has to identify longer before attack. About a half a second, if that of difference.

    One of the problems I'm having (only have SteamDeck and macOS,.. no Windows, don't own a mouse). .is I can't seem to get the arm-swing attack to work for me. (I can only do shove-stomp). I discovered the game about a week ago. Most of the new games I start don't last much more than a few minutes because I just get easily overwhelmed (since all I seem to be able to do is shove and stomp).

    • @OttosTheName
      @OttosTheName  Месяц назад

      Oof yeah that sounds like it would be rough. Fighting more than 3 with just pushing and stomping is nearly impossible, but 2 would also be quite challenging for a new player. I know people do play on the SteamDeck, so I think normal attacking should work, but I'm not sure how to set it up.

    Had the tractor trailer mod on. Went to rhe prison and found a trailer 1287/1689 of weapons and ammo. Cleared the mall. Had four trailers parked outside the mall full or materials. Then, about a week later (in game) I start up my game, and ALL the trailers had vanished.
    Rage quit.

    • @OttosTheName
      @OttosTheName  11 месяцев назад +1

      I do want to make a video about how to mod, how to add mods to existing games, where to get, which I recommend, etc. It's a bit much to type out.
      What I can tell you is the Steam Workshop has almost all mods, it auto-updates and if you go into the main menu of the game you can turn on mods. These mods will automatically be added to any new run you start :D

      It's only temporary. Once your weight is back to normal your character gains the strength.

It seriously tell you : "This is how you died" - by fightning way too much zombies at a time, by going into the house that decide to turn on the alarm, by entering the vehicle that also enabled car alarm, or looting nearby shops without checking the surroundings, or you know..thinking that your car is unstopable beast and absolute end game "weapon" to drive into group/small horde of zombies. :D
    PS : Disable zombie respawning everyone! zombies aren't jesus..they're just..zombies you know, once coming from the grave, return them to the grave, lol.

    • @OttosTheName
      @OttosTheName  10 месяцев назад

      I do try to watch TV where I can if I have the XP boost from skill books. But if I don't have the books there's no point IMO. I think it's like 50 xp per show or so. But the first book gives a 3x multiplier, second one 5x, third 8x. Having to stop fighting/looting, going home, sitting still for a chunk of XP that's not even being multiplied is a big time investment for a small payout if you ask me. I also focused on it a bit less just to get fast progress in this series. If you can get to a school or a book store while the TV is still on and you can read some skillbooks it's great though!
