Hi, hope you can help me out! "a company is launching a new product to a new target group" The company wants to know how the segment is buying and there thoughts on the product. Therefor the company chooses to go with a multi-method approach and wants to do both a questionair and a focus group where they can present the product to the target group, will this be a case study or maby a narrative enquiry strategy? or maybe something else?

Hello, I have a question and hope you can reply, I use interview for my dissertation. So the interview belongs to archival research?

    • @saadshakil5466

      No, its doesn't
Archival research uses documents in archives or official records.

Hello there! I've a question if you can answer it please do reply. I need to make a survey by visiting the shops and finding out various brands (and their prices) available of a particular product in the market. As said in the video, a survey will be a quantitative research. So will I need to use any software (For e.g SPSS) since it is a quantitative research???

Tilak Soni hello. yes, the research will be quantitative. That doesnt imply though that you will need spss, R or something such complicated. You will be good to go with Excel (or google sheets on google drive). The reason for this is that if you are a bachelor or master student a simple DESCRIPTIVE statistics will be enough for you such as creating distribution graphs, calculatings means and so on. Those more complicate softwares include tools such as statistical modelling which will not be mecessary for you. Robert

To answer this question you need to also take into account other parts of your research. (1) how long do you have in terms of collecting data (2) what is the nature of the research (descriptive, explanatory, exploratory, predictive or prescriptive). So if you have a short period of time and intend to just describe your findings, then a survey will be ideal.
On the other hand, if you have a long period of time and your research is explanatory or exploratory, you might want to use one of the qualitative approaches (case study or narrative inquiry).
Should you realize you are have more time and want to create a positive change (assuming the narrative of impact is included on this) in a society, action research or grounded approach will be ideal. Post that, an ethnographic study will be better if you want to assess impact of for example culture or language as these are not concepts that are measurable but depend on society interactions which take a while to unfold.
