Nice little handy hub for when you’re short of RGB headers.Good review Mike 👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks 👍hopefully it will be useful to a few people struggling to wire everything up
Mike you show some of the coolest thigs for builds I love this one you are showing I love my RGB too! you are so underrated 💕
Glad you like them!
Hi Mike.
Like the videos, interesting and informative, keep up the good work.
I’d like to share with you and YT viewers something I recently discovered with ARGB hubs that may help if experiencing problems with.
I discovered with my PC when connecting such hubs to the computer’s PSU my PC wouldn't start after fitting. After a lot of time checking and testing it turned out it was my motherboard make and design that was the issue.
I’ve tried the hub in your video, and a couple of other makes, and all replicated the same problem of my PC failing to start with a hub connected to the PSU. Disconnected from the PSU no problems, disconnected from the ARGB header on the MB no problems.
Seems that some motherboard makes / designs don’t like having 5v supply going onto the ARGB headers from a cable connected to it. Once I found what the problem was my solution was to use a two pin cable I made up to connect my hub to the ARGB header on my MB, thus removing the 5v supply from MB’s header going to the hub and of course preventing 5v from the hub going to the header.
ARGB hubs powered by a PSU like the one in this video only need to receive ARGB signals from the MB to work and not any power from.
I’d have thought all ARGB powered hubs would have been designed in such a way to prevent voltage flow back to the MB header by incorporating either a dedicated MB socket on the hub or a cable for this purpose, from my experiences and testing this apparently is not the case.
they need the active 5v to provide enough power for the connected LEDs a motherboard header power alone won't be enough and you will burn out the motherboard controller if overloaded
Nice bit of kit for those who what a feck-load of fans but not many fan headers :-) Thanks for the review, Mr Mike and Lady Kath
No problem 👍
This is kind of useless IMO. If you have ARGB you want to address your fans LEDs. not give them all the same signal. That's why we moved away from RGB to get into ARGB. With this kit you are only getting 1 affect on all your fans rather than 1 affect passing through all your fans.
Hi, Mike. Personally, I've come to like six pin ARGB Fan controllers because they only have a single wire for both FAN and ARGB. That makes for neater cable managing.
that is the beauty of our relatively open PC eco system, there is pretty much something for everyone
Great review, Mike! It really would have been nice to have the magnet mount - especially if you are not exactly sure where it will work in your case during the build. Simple device, but extremely useful if you require lots of RGB. I guess you could get a fan hub too (if required). “Cheap and cheerful” as a wise man once said! I hope it doesn’t catch fire?!? 😂
yeah fire is generally a bad thing, especially inside a PC tower :-)
I just got myself a deepcool pwm+argb hub which i recommend as well.
It’s the one I just got.
Just did a build with 5 ARGB fans running off one header. Stress tested it for a long time. No crashes. Aorus B450 Elite V2. I did split the PWM between 2 headers though. LEDs don't draw a lot of power compared to the fan motor. Maybe if you have those ring light ones with a dozen LEDs in it...But those don't really belong in a budget build because they are more expensive. I buy Thermalright ARGB fans. About $15 after tax for 3 and they move more air and are quieter than Lian Li fans that sell for around $70 for three. Expensive stuff is for people who wrongly believe spending more money gets you a better product. You can buy a BMW or Mercedes. Won't be any more reliable than a Camry and will be way less efficient. I drive a Mk IV Jetta (Bora) VR6. It is an objectively better car than an entry level 3 series and was several grand cheaper.
The 1 star rating is because people buy this thinking it is an ARGB controller. Some controllers are hubs but not all hubs are controllers.
it says hub in the title & thumbnail, and i said it was a hub. i explained it wasn't a controller. 1 star is harsh
I bought mine 5 months ago and it's a great piece of kit, I paid £6.50 for mine from Amazon.
that is a great price
It's a good-looking hub. My first reaction was: ASUS made a fan hub! :-) It's a good idea to check the pins. One input on my NZXT hub had all three pins pointing upwards.
the asus logo is such a rip off, not sure how they get away with it really
Hey Mike! I hope you're doing great. I recently came across this interesting product called the '12V 4Pin PWM & 5V 3Pin ARGB with SATA 15Pin Power 2-in-1 Hub 6 Way Sync CPU Cooling Fan Addressable RGB Lighting PCB Splitter for Extended Motherboard Interface'. It seems like a fantastic solution for PWM and synchronize aRGB lighting with fans and cpu cooler I think it would be awesome if you could do a review on it, giving us more insights, showing us how to change lights and demonstrating its performance. Keep up the excellent work, and looking forward to your next video! Cheers!
send a link to it and i'll take a look - EDIT i just had a look, just looks like a most expensive unprotected version of this one
@@mikesunboxing oh is that so, still would be cool to see that version as it uses glue to stick on as installation and how the 2 differ in contrast. But thanks for the reply :)
Tnx Man it Helped me a lot ❤❤
No problem 👍
Interesting idea to add argb to a plain case. My dters mb is msi A320m, which doesnt have argb sadly , so would a mb with argb port be better suited to this device? Thanks for reviewing Mike and Kath 🐈👍
yes this needs a 5v argb signal fed into it and a PWM fan signal. It just replicates the signal to every port on the PCB
@@mikesunboxing is there anyway to get all 9 of my fans to light up if i dont have any argb headers on my mobo?
Perfect for a Xmas tree too 😛
Mike's Review & How to is Worthy of a Support comment. Like & a share 🙂
You're the best!
Thank you good stuff
Glad you enjoyed it
Hey you're a really good creator, answering all the questions everybody has or just conversing a bit. Really nice of you
Would 5 meter led strips work with this? If they are connected through cables? I want to put LED strips on my celing, but I'd have to take long cables from the mb to the led strips
the power output on each port might not be enough for powering that many leds, check the rated input of the strip and compare against the ports on the hub, it might work but i would think that would be too many leds and may need a booster or separate power source
@@mikesunboxing Thank you for answering! I think that's true, I might just put the led strips on my table and behind my speakers
Thanks again!
You are the best thank you , when my motherboard support aura sync does this allow it to work normally for changing colours ( because i will add more fans using this hub ) ? Thanks again
Yes it will
@@mikesunboxing thanks alot bro 🙏🏻
Recommendation for one that does effects? The mystic effects aren't great, lightening for example only allows white flash not different colours. (dragon software)
Signal RGB is really good and offers a lot of customisation
👍Done any vids??@@mikesunboxingEDIT got it👌
what you mistaken is that this item is not POWERED ARGB hub, its just splitter. You can connect 128 leds maximum in total. i found that the hard way, i connected 2 strips of 128 leds and it started to flicker and strips exploded as well as argb port on motherboard z790 is fried. so sata power is for powering the fans, not rgb. So i found out that this hub works the same as rgb splitter cable. so it was useless for me.
interesting, what were your leds rated at? those don't sound like PC leds
@@mikesunboxing hi. I'm using ws2812b 5v 3pin led strips. I can connect two strips with 120 leds maximum, and it gets dimmer. Considering 120 leds draw 36W makes sense. If i would like to connect 3x 2m strips with 60leds/m it would draw 108W. I learned the hard way 😂
@@mikesunboxing i came here because I was searching for argb powered hub, not powered fan hub with rgb splitter. That's what it is.
@@JamaaLKellbassSo actually the sata connector doesn't do anything? Is all the power taken from the ARGB port?
And what happened to the other components, were only your ARGB port and the LEDs damaged?
Hi Mike, would it work to plug in just the argb cable from an aio water block to the hub since a motherboard I'm looking at is pretty perfect for me apart from only having 1 argb header (Gigabyte B650m gaming x ax)
yes
thanks bro
thanks for watching
Do u recommended it? Or just go with trusted brand like cooler master and thermalright?
Yes it does a great job but at a lower cost
I think I'm more interested in that controller thing you got there functioning as a motherboard. I have one question though, is it PWM + ARGB + Controller?
the controller was the gamemax argb hub it is okay the PWM on it is a bit hit or miss
@@mikesunboxing so that's gonna give me PWM + ARGB + ARGB signal? My motherboard has no ARGB header and it'd be great if I could skip having to buy a controller separately just to get the ARGB signal
Hi Mike. What if I have't any aRGB input on my motherboard, but now I need two. How to connect this hub?
one of the these might be a better option
Hello! Hope you are doing great. I want to know if I use this argb hub, could I control with armour create?
Yes you can use armoury crate, the splitter or hub will replicate the signal from the motherboard header to all the devices connected to the hub
Does ARGB Hub ROG support the MSI Center application for Mystic Light?
Yes it does
I have gigabyte b550m and im new with all these rgb stuff. I'd like to know if i connected all my fans on this device, can i change the color of leds via rgb fusion?
yes you can
Hello friend my english not so good but is this good but this hun can control the speed fans and argb light ?
only the lights not the fan speeds
Hey, Mike! I would really like for you to review XIGMATEK STARLINK ULTRA ARGB
don't think anyone in the UK stocks Xiggmatek, but i will bit them on the list of things to look out for
@@mikesunboxing Hope you find them, Mike. I love your reviews and thoroughness. Keep up the good work, sir
Can i connect this device to the DeepCool RGB Convertor? I have 12V 4pin slot instead of 5V 3pin on my mobo
you can but it will just make your ARGB devices RGB
This has the sata power as well drain the power from a-rgb header...if you want only sata powerd I probably cut the 5v pin that came from motherboard so it is only powerd by sata
will the lights still work if you cut that wire?
interesting.... i think rgb is not powered by sata. sata power is only for the fans. what a bummer
Hi I’m just wondering does this work on signalRGB ?
yes it will work with the motherboard headers in signal rgb
Dose this work if my motherboard dosent have aura sync or any other led controlling?
no it is a splitter or hub so it needs a controller to feed it the signal
Hi, if I plugged my aio into it would it work?
If the aio uses 3pin 5 volt addressable RGB yes it will
I use Thermaltake FP -10 Commander Port Hub for PWM Fans , 10 Ports, 4pins, SATA Power Input, Only £12.98
i will check it out
Hello i have a non argb motherboard how can i change the argb on my cpu cooler?
you will need some form of controller, we did a video on the gamemax and coolmoon ones, worth watching
can u help me i put the fans in they spin but dont recive any RGB anytips to help

No longer available on AMZ US or AMZ UK, did find on eBay US from China Seller :(
UK is available and cheaper just checked it
How many amps it holds?
i think it is listed in the product description section, i can't recall from the top of my head sorry
does this need to be plugged into a motherboard
Yes and a power supply
@@mikesunboxing how would i use this if i dont have a rgb heafer on my motherboard
are there any controllers that are only connected via power supply?@@mikesunboxing
Reset tuşuna bağlanıyor mu

I guess your video was a hit. They jacked the price up to $22 US.
try on ali express usually about £5 or look for a similar model there are a few around
Useless, money wasted. I don't have 3 pin connecter to the motherboard. What's the point if you already have power sata from psu. I have to buy another cable.
the connection should come with the hub
