@@madmax1631 it really is. The new s class looks slightly tacky and the interior build quality isn’t even as good as the 2020 7 series. The new 7 series is just something else. But the pricing is ridiculous, my dad fell in love with it but in the UK the S500 equivalent costs about £95,000 more than his 2021 S500 which was 79k brand new with options since he didn’t mind the waiting list
What a beautiful car your the reason I bought an m140i from your early videos what a great decision it was I absolutely fell in love with it. Shame I had to sell it due to running costs in our tough times. Thank you for your work.
I reckon 1049 miles. I like the idea of this challenge Joe, could almost be an hommage to the Jag XJ in Top Gear’s Basel to Blackpool race, will be interesting to see how you get on
I recon that that beautiful 7 series can do about 980 miles on a full tank. I really like how you have merged the challenge with a giveaway, it's a great idea!!
Excited to hear you're doing the challenge again, Joe. The last video was ace so looking forward to this more 'exotic' attempt! My guess is 967 miles. Looking forward to seeing the video
937 miles would be my guess. Love these comfortable 30d's they really fly under the radar. M Sports are the go-to spec in the UK but the SEs and Luxurys are so comfortable.
1012 miles ? I ran a 2017 730d M Sport from new for 3 years and it surprises many people when I say it's easily the best car I've ever owned, amongst a plethora of M Cars, Range Rovers, a good few 911's (current 992 owner) and even a Bentley, plus a few more MB's and some other stuff I can't think of right now. They're special things, hugely over engineered and you can feel the attention to detail that went into developing the car. Most people seem to think it's just the same as a 3 series but bigger when nothing could be further from the truth. Don't let the ubiquitous styling fool you.
Great video, really enjoyed it, sort of thing that appeals to me. Over the years I have set myself all sorts of challenges. I have a bmw 530e and I’m well over 100 mpg.
979 Miles. I’m daily driving a 2012 530d X-drive Touring. This 6 cylinders Diesel engine is really great. My challenge: trying to reach 400’000 km with this car. Actual mileage 337’000 km. Cheers from the Swiss Alps.
hmm.. Ill go for 992 Miles (1596,47km) because I love Porsche's new generation of cars!! Great video Joe!! Keep them coming, you make such great content!! :)
Joe, am thinking about changing my X3M Comp, all black with 9k miles on it and is nearly 3 years old for either a new M4 Comp convertible new or a Land Rover Discovery Metropolitan new, or maybe a Jag F-Pace SVR new. What are your thoughts? Had an E46 M3 Convertible and loved it 17 years ago, and oddly changed that for a 730d. Irony…
Stunning car Joe and a fantastic real world spec which I'm surprised is not more popular, I can't understand the trend for massive rims with very low profile tyres on UK roads. I reckon this car could do 812 miles to a full tank of fuel! Cheers Buddy.
Me arse is adaptive air suspension (gassy, I'm old). Watched M2 bob up & down my pothill-filled street, yo comprendo. Ironic to hear E again, BMW got so much grief for Eta 528e.
Love you to break the 1000 mile mark on a tank but realistically I'd expect somewhere around 968 mile mark. That's unless you're starting from the top of the Alps and coasting all the way down! 😄 All the best.
Being a 2016 730d owner, I think 823 miles is achievable to one tank! Good luck Joe - you should definitely keep the 7 after the challenge. What can you get better for 26k!?
1239 miles total committed to efficient driving style which from your experience as a chauffeur should be a good stance but I'd like to More over anyway hope it is success overall
Lovely car, thinking of getting one for my Manchester-Andorra commute. My guess is 1011 miles. Have a nice trip and look forward to seeing the result! 🙂
I'm gonna go with 877! I realize the engines are different but I have a 2017 530i here in the States and could have easily knocked out close to between 700-750 miles on a recent trip if I pushed it and had further to go. I presume the tank in the 7 series is a bit larger thus garnering even more mileage.
Have enjoyed your video's for a long time. That's a lovely 7 series and I hope you enjoy your trip. I would hazard a guess that you could get 999 miles by being careful, using eco and no air con. Be careful. Stay safe.
Lovely car that in a nice specification, big fan. I would guess but Joe you already owe me a ‘prize’ for correctly guessing the mileage on your M2 video (? I think it was) a couple of years ago!! 😁
Hey Joe, great idea. So excited to see this video. With the efficient engine and these tires, I would reckon you may be able to squeeze out 1108 miles of this beautiful piece of engineering 👍. Good luck and wishing you great fun.
My 2021 730d with MHT on 20" will see around 53mpg on a run (not in eco pro) giving a range of just over 900 miles, your lighter 730d on 18" and eco tyres in eco pro mode should probably be good for around 1050 miles
On my 2017 G11 730d, I replaced my run flat Goodyear 20" for non run flat Pilot sport 4s and i love it! it is so comfortable, like you have with 18" on run flat. However, my 2001 e65 745i is still much more comfortable, quieter, and the seat ventilation really does it's job (in g11 it sucks)
I think you will get to 1073 miles I’ve done 790 on my F30 330D absolute gem of an engine these cars have. Arguably one of the best diesels to be made 😁.
Hi Joe! Can you please talk about the 2 optionals that i think make a great difference in the 7 series? executive drive pro integral active steering thanks!
Just traded my 2017 335d xdrive in for a 2016 730d xdrive G11, hopefully I've made a good choice, done a few hundred miles and completely different feel
I’d imagine you could do 1032 miles in that lovely 7 series. I’m still more of an S class fan myself, but this 7 is a great daily driver spec!

You're selling it for 4k? I've got about tree fiddy.

More than u can afford pal. B M W 😂😂 I'm sorry
Love your work. So natural and honest. Keep going brother. Keep making the content. BMW massive!
Love big sidewalls. Considering the warmer temperatures and the new supper efficient tyres, I would go for 988 miles.
About 1400km. I did 1000km in a 750d, driving from Amsterdam to Lech in Austria in about 9 hours. Best drivers car ever😉
I reckon 1026 miles!! Happy driving… looking forward to seeing the video
Excited to hear you're doing the challenge again, Joe. The last video was ace so looking forward to this more 'exotic' attempt!
My guess is 967 miles. Looking forward to seeing the video
1087 miles - good luck Joe! Great to see the seven!
Gorgeous car (inside and out), for such a big car it still remains practical! Looking forward to next road trip video to see how far you get 😄
Agreed👍
937 miles would be my guess.
Love these comfortable 30d's they really fly under the radar. M Sports are the go-to spec in the UK but the SEs and Luxurys are so comfortable.
More than my 435dxdrive gran coupe. I reckon 966 miles is achievable. Don't go up any mountains !!
On a full tank 972 miles. Keep up the great content Joe!
Good luck Joe - looking forward to seeing the video. I reckon the car will do 1003.7 miles on a full tank.

My guess is (quite optimistic) 1143mi. It’s gonna be a mega trip, loved the video you did 1,5 years ago in your old new car!
Hi Joe. My bet is that the 730d will do 1037 miles in 1 tank of diesel on a nice day with fair wind. Thanks for your videos. Luis
Eco pro mode all the way then which means next to zero consumption down the hills. I reckon you can achieve 1003 miles. Good luck!
1026 miles. Good luck!
Hey Rishi,
You were the 1st person to guess 1026 miles correctly! Can you drop me an email - joe@joeachilles.com

With Patrick in the car too. I think it will end up with more than last time with the clearer roads. 1002 miles is my guess.
Have fun lads 😎
Hi Joe, my guess is that you drove 951 miles on a full tank. I have a 2016 BMW 740LD MSPORT, loads of power!
Also out of interest which diesel fuel are you using? There is at least in theory difference between them in cetane ratings and how cleanly they burn.
