Heart - Barracuda has a classic classic-rock galloping riff that will be forever stuck in my ear. If you just listen to the guitar it's metal. Don't pay attention to me, I'm old.
@@Lola_Santoroto say it’s more metal is the least metal thing for you to do. Trying to one up people and say on thing is better is annoying to say the least. It’s all good and it’s all metal, stop gate keeping and dividing people. People like you ruin it for new comers and make us all look bad
@@XxnatrocksxX I'm not a guitarist so I'mma take your word for it. But hell the riffs sound like a horse galloping. I mean it should probably make the list off of that alone.😅
@@XxnatrocksxXsaaaaaayyy, what? “The horsemen are drawing nearer……..Or choose your fate and die, oh , yeah!” Chunk-a-chunk-a-chunk-a-chunk-a chunk-a-chunk-a-chunk. That’s about as gallop as it gets. Have you ever ridden a horse? Have you ever seen a horse gallop, or run briskly? Have you ever seen a horse? Have you ever heard a horse’s hooves (the feet thingies) while it’s galloping? You could superimpose that sound in place of that Metallica riff, almost literally.
@@andrewhigdon8346 I play guitar my guy. A gallop is repeated triplets. The closest thing to a gallop on the four horsemen is the verses. And even then the triplets are broken apart by a strum.
I've never heard that Kreator song, and it is sick as hell! But I am also realizing that it contains no perfect 5th, that is the B notes (well, A note because of the detuning), making it technically in Locrian mode! Super rare, even in metal believe it or not!
I got to say I love the way this video is being presented. Lots of good info and the info changes quickly. Great for the way my mind works. Don’t get bored.
One of my favourite gallop moments is Pulling at Threads by Dark Fortress. It comes after the 2nd chorus. t's a sweet moment, I especially love the half-time drums underneath, very tasteful.

Just listen to meshuggah and remeber - they are the one who made 7-8 string guitars popular and cool. They needed these "zeros", thats why they was going down in pitch throughout their long career...
Disposal Hereos was the one I used to develop my stamina as a young GenX in the early 90s, I wish I could still play it all the way through, today not a chance !!
Love the pickguard on your guitar. Not crazy about how close the pickups are together. I'm used to picking over an empty space between a pair of humbuckers. I try picking over a pickup and i end up stabbing and slashing it. Guess my technique is wrong.
Great playing man! I really dig your axe. I slowed the video down to 0.75 on 'Fucking Hostile' because I realized I've been playing that fast intro/verse part wrong this whole time. I wanted to see the proper picking technique for that part and I was able to figure it out. Then I realized how cool that part sounds at 0.75 playback speed. Check it out, you'll see what I mean! 😎
Like for including Dio! And also for Metallica in their NWOBHM phase. If you do another one, add some speed/power bands like Helloween, Gamma Ray and Running Wild. They have some super fast riffs.
Hey, thumbs up for part 2 👍👇
Murmaider 1 and 2
Funeral Hymn by Exodus
Disposable heroes is just so iconic. sounds so big so intricate
try play it when you drinking;)
0 00 0 00: exists
Metal guitarists: finally, some good fckin food
Battery and Disposable Heroes are absolutely crushing gallop riffs.
MOP is a masterpiece. Kill'em all and Ride the lightning are so impressive. 81, 83, 86 : 3 iconic trash metal LP's !

That song is absolutely iconic
Amen! They didn't pick it because it's Heart. But, it's beefier, more metal than about half the songs on this video.
Barracuda is absolutely considered an early metal song, same way we can retroactively see metal in Led Zeppelin 1. it's a very reasonable claim
@@Lola_Santoro 😐

Dime bag riffs are always so fun to play
She Wolf is an underrated tune from Megadeth!
The first time I've heard that song, it was live. Became one of my favorite songs.
The version on the rude awaking album and DVD is awesome.
How I learned.
For me it is number one
The riff:
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
ICED EARTH riffs are a killer to master!
And of course had to finish with BLEED.
No Four Horsemen, huh? Thought that woulda made the list easily.
its not a song with gallops

You choose really the best gallop riffs! Very good! Great skill! Up the IRON’s! 🤘🤘🤘
Backbone such a masterpiece. You got the end of space time by Gojira which is insane too
Iced Earth - The Coming Curse is my favourite for gallop riffs 🤘
Which version is better though, the original or Rippers version on vocals?
Hell yeah, Jon Schaffer is Master of galloping
SYL's "Detox" is pretty much all gallop, and it is beautiful
DT is my hero
Thumbs up for December flower. Such an amazing song.
The guitar solo is one of my favourites ❤
So glad Mass Hypnosis was included. My favorite Sepultura song!
Personally I like inner self.
the frayed ends of sanity pre solo riff also sounds sick ass hell 🤘
Can we get some more speed practice routines? I do your alternate picking one daily, it would be nice to get one for legato or fast rythm parts.

Dude my wrist hurts just watching you play 😂 Great selection and execution !
great list, my favorite gallop riff is the main riff of teras - sylosis
Thumbs up for December Flower, an underrated gem, off a fantastic album.
💯
Great work. I choose a half of the riffs to train my right hand and my weak rythmic feeling.
I got to say I love the way this video is being presented. Lots of good info and the info changes quickly. Great for the way my mind works. Don’t get bored.
I love these videos! I use these riffs when I'm practicing guitar, great work as always!
So pleased you put Sepultura in there 😊 I’ve always been in love with ‘To The Wall’ from Schizophrenia. It’s raw AF 👊🏻
Love these man. So many greats in there!
One hell of a playlist! 🤘
Trivium "To The Rats" & Cavalera Conspiracy "Sanctuary", Fear Factory "Slave labor". Cheers from Spokane valley Washington! 🤘🏻🇺🇲
I can listen to this all day long!
D.R.I. "Acid Rain" and Riot "Kings Are Falling" are two that live forever rent free in my head 🤘
Sonda Meshuggah tam oturmuş hocam emeklerinize sağlık :)
Some love for Fear Factory... Thank you !

The gojira riff was incredible!! I had not very much of respect for that band. But that riff blow me away
Also:
Behemoth-Conquer All
The Black Dahlia Murder -What A Horrible Night To Have A Curse?
Lamb Of God-11th Hour
Devin Townsend Project-March Of The Poozers
Trivium-Rain
Very Good! I would definetly add "Aftermath" by Strapping Young Lad. The bridge riff is EPIC!!!
i have recovered my ibanez from the attic after i saw this video! Thanks for that!
Great video, all god tier riffs. Meshuggah never left the 0 but still sounded the coolest!
I think a cool concept for another video would breakdowns.

I should have known you'd done one already and checked. Thanks@@ibrahimbirdal
Some of my all time favorites.
Honorable mention: Saw by Orbit Culture
It's very rare thing for me look down at those buttons and say out loud "How am I not subscribed to this?"
Listen mate ... Don't get too excited, but you're pretty fucking good at guitar 💪💯
I love a good gallop. Excellent list\playthrough, brother!
What about a top of Tremolo picking riff it would permit to bring some blackmetal stuff (and death also)
Oh I'd love that, add speed metal for tremolo to compare and contrast, like Venom or Running Wild.
Good list! One more I love is the open E riff on Ashes in Your Mouth.
Man I love holy wars, such a cool song
A couple of my favorites:
Fates Warning - Without a Trace
Overkill - Feel the Fire
Exodus - Parasite
Great work put into this. Excellent!
i recommend by your command by devin townsend, the last riff is only gallops, and they are very coll. i recommend the whole song, i find it too good
gonna have to add Void - First In, Last Out to this. those dudes are great
Meshuggah tabs are literally 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Edit: Guys I never said I don't like it smh

And yet its the hardest song on the list to play
Statutory ape before the solo is the best gallop ive heard imo

Iced earth have some amazing galloping in loads of their songs...
Sodom - Magic Dragon outro riff really fits
Disposal Hereos was the one I used to develop my stamina as a young GenX in the early 90s, I wish I could still play it all the way through, today not a chance !!
I love that you apologise for wanting to play 😬🤘❤
Invocator-through the flesh to the soul is a great one
Eye of the beholder also has an amazing gallop riff 🤘
No early Trivium riffs is a war crime
Sleepwalker or bottom feeder by parkway drive are my favourite gallop songs
Oh yes thank you so mutch dude! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Holy Diver isn't a gallop but the rest of this is excellent. FuKn Hostile isn't a gallop either. Thank you!
Awesome!!!! This kicks so serious a$$ Good work!! \m/ \m/
Doing a galloping riffs video without teras by sylosis' massive outro sequence feels like a premeditated crime, all otherwise great vid!!
Finally someone's mentioning iced earth
You could quite literally have every single Iron Maiden and Iced Earth song ever written on here.
Megadeth Devil's Island is the clearest example
Bro! You kick ass!!!
Not enough ICED EARTH. 🤘🏼
Wow! Now ice that elbow, bro!
I keep forgetting how much impact so many Gojira riffs have had on me, especially backbone !
Amigo, excelente e impecable toque, un abrazo grande y saludos desde Colombia, Sur América.
Shedding skin is a tasty af riff wish I could hear it again for the first time
Great idea for a video.
Bleed 🙏

Great selections, I woulda put some Slough Feg in though 😊
Heart - Barracuda , Led Zeppelin - Achilles last stand (the drums)
love to see Iced Earth on here \m/
Came hoping for Meshuggah, and was not disappointed \m/
December Flower deserved a like.
Lamb of God "The Faded Line" has a sick gallop
Muchas Gracias !!!! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Muchas porfaVor seeee senior 🤠
The Trooper was all you needed here...
I knew The Trooper would be here. I feel so cultured.

"Yes. I also enjoy the classical composers. Harris, Murray, Smith."
Bro, that was awesome, actually you have a really good sound, specially the cabs, would you please share with me the cabs you use ?
Havok ‘From the Cradle to the Grave’
Would fit nicely on this list.
for those who like there deathcore, Annotations Of An Autopsy's "Cryogenica" is a brutal picking song that I use to practice.
Tool's "Jambi" is a great example.
infant annihilator - the kingdom sitteth lonely beneath thine hollow haven is the best gallops song I ever heard
Good job👊Play something more extreme metal with that Esp axe, i would like to hear its crispy, razor sharp, tight chug👌
Very nice selection❤
Heathen - Hypnotized has one of the best gallop riffs ever
sick video dude
Pure evil by Iced Earth, Lobotomy by Sepultura, all great riffs too
