10:17 I'd call his 2017 championship 2nd place as controversial, speeding in pit lane while not speeding in pit lane, CL not trying to slow down after a rub against the wall.
Dick use to own a petrol station in Brisbane many many years ago my grandfather was a serious Ford owner and of the blue oval he always only bought his fuel ⛽ there does anyone else agree with me best djr car will always be THE TWO XC. COUPES 🇦🇺🇦🇺🏁🏁🏁🏁 cheers Stephen from QLD 🤠🐨🦘✌️
Before watching this, I reckon three of the top five (in no particular order) will be: Dick Johnson John Bowe Scott McLaughlin James Courtney will probably be there as well seeing as he's the only other driver to have won the title for them. After watching this, called it! Though admittedly they were rather low hanging fruit. My list would be similar to yours, I think, along with the honourable mentions, though I'd have a hard time choosing between Davison, Coulthard and Radisich for 5th. I'm a little surprised you didn't mention Anton de Pasquale. He does have 8 wins for the team but I suppose consistency is his main issue, with his 6th, 4th and 8th in the championship in his three seasons so far. DJR have certainly had some really solid drivers over the years. While Davison and McLaughlin are my favourites, from watching older races on RUclips I really like Radisich. The #17 is iconic, and no disrespect to Steven Johnson, he was usually solid, but it's pretty clear that in the era of the AU Falcon the #18 DJR car was the more consistent threat to the likes of HRT. John Bowe's championship results while at DJR though, wow. Comparable only to Lowndes, Whincup and van Gisbergen at Triple Eight for sheer consistency over such a time period I reckon.
Anton was a hard one as he was supposed to be replacing McLaughlin and as you said, just hasn't been consistent enough And JB's championship positions surprised me too, I remember him always being in the fight, but being that strong year after year was an achievement
Hey Dave finally picked the right team ! Nice video probably would have put Dick first and had the rat in for Davo but I can understand the reasons why either way you can't ague against each. What a freak scott mclaughlin was ! I agree if he had stayed svg wouldn't have had it so easy, but at least we have someone else to cheer on in indycar, watch him go this year, could be the year! How about doing fpr! See ya DJR phil
I did WAU (HRT) a while ago now, ruclips.net/video/RziIMy5w5MQ/видео.htmlsi=XDLQ_sWrBmYvkZuV I think Tickford is a good one as they have now had quite a few drivers through the doors
Next one should be Triple eight racing great drivers for them the top 3 drivers no brainer who they are but which order put them into My order would be 1 Craig Lowndes, 2 Jamie Whincup, 3 Shane van Gisbergen
Shoulld have had four in a row if it wasn't for Craig running interference in the final round at Newcastle and supercars wanting to show Penskie whos boss. Dave can you do Grove racing top five next lol. Think you were on the money with DJR, but I would replace Will with Fab's.
is this a joke ??? running interference last time i looked motorsports is about constructing a move to get past the guy in front of you, not just getting behind him and him pulling over for you... What an absolute ridiculous comment
The 5th spot was hard, and seeing Anton and Will's results has probably highlighted that Coulthard was doing a good job, just that McLaughlin was on some other planet
10:17 I'd call his 2017 championship 2nd place as controversial, speeding in pit lane while not speeding in pit lane, CL not trying to slow down after a rub against the wall.
Wasn't a good day to be a McLaughlin fan that one.....
Next love to see Perkins Engineering next
Do we include the Kelly + Grove years, or just pure Perkins?
@@SupercarsTorque Just Perkins
@@MrTBA The first two are easy, the other three could be interesting
Great video, love the look back.
Thanks @vlockley
I’d love a video about all of the drama behind the scenes at DJR in 2010. Be super interesting.
I'd love to do it, but there would be a lot of speculation and he said/she said type of reporting
i reckon only the flies on the walls know the true stroy,
I like all model cars of tickford dave
I'll have to get some more out!
Great coverage of a great team. I would like to have Radisich in the top five instead of Courtney, but he didn't win a championship and Courtney did.
Courtney's results were a lot stronger

The XC's are a bit before my time. I've also been fond of the 1994 EB Bathurst Winner

Tickford
I've had a lot of votes for them
would have put radisich 5th but other than spot on
Yeah 5th was a hard one to pick
How did Dean Fiore not make the list :)
Ah that year of convenience where a 1 car team is somehow running 4 cars.......
How much room gonna fit all of the model cars on the shelf
I changed the setup in here over Christmas and now I can display 3x the amount of models!
I personally would swap out Davison for Radisich!
The 5th one was a hard pick
Nah, WD is a lock for the top 5
Where's Max Wilson?
Pretty sure he's in Brazil 😀

Is it weird that I only remember John Bowe for when he got curbstomped by Greg Murphy at the Bathurst shootout in 2003?
I remember when JB posted that time and thinking this'll be hard to beat......

The issue with T8 is that they've only had 7 drivers. Feeney gets 4th and then its Radisich, Ellery or Canto...
@@SupercarsTorque Didn't Max Wilson drive for them?
@@dominicbarden4436 Sorry it was Wilson, not Canto there year 1
Stuff the Ford teams, and the car they drove in on.
Ambrose didn't get a decent chance to return with lack of testing and second car might have allowed him to return to form with less pressure...
I'm sure if he'd stuck at it, he would have got there
Was a pity Courtney didn't stay at DJR to defend his championship but he seemed to pick teams headed for a decline...
