    Keine Ahnung warum, aber die deutschen Designs sind einfach auf einam anderen Level. Den russischen Modellen sieht man ihren Pragmatismus an und den amerikanischen ihre Auslegung auf unkomplizierte Massenfertigung. Bei den deutschen hat man aber den Eindruck, dass es da nicht nur darum ging eine Waffe von A nach B zu transportieren und das Fahrzeug drumherum zu bauen, sondern um jedes Detail. Gerade beim Halftrack und beim Sonderkraftfahrzeug äh... zweihundert... nummer vergerssen... aber da sieht man es einfach. Bei den Amis ein popeliger Laster auf Halbkette und bei den Deutschen könnt man das Design größtenteils heute auf Räder stellen und als Concept-Car ausstellen :D Es war einfach nur Sci-Fi... Wenn man mal die SU-152 hingegen nimmt, sieht man dass es ein riiiiesen Panzer ist der nur dazu dient eine Haubitze rauszutragen. Die Proportionen sehen gruselig aus. Beim STUG fühlt sich das für mich genau andersum an... als hätte man ästhetische Aspekte ins Design einfließen lassen... Ja ich weiß, dass das lediglich ein Aufbau auf die Panzer III bzw. später Panzer IV Wanne war und einfach nur ein flacher Aufbau für die Kanone drauf kam - ABER der sieht nicht einfach hastig zusammengebrettert aus.

      Kenne Sie die Gründe, warum die Deutschen die Kursker Schlacht verloren haben? Die deutschen Panzer waren zu kompliziert und nicht ausgereift. Ich beziehe mich da auf Guderians Memoarien.

      @@MathiasWilfert Die überlieferten Statistiken bescheinigen dem Tiger I die gleiche Ausfallrate aufgrund technischer Mängel wie bei anderen Panzern seiner Zeit. Das Panzermuseum Munster hat das bereits mehrfach berichtet, dass die Übermäßige Ausfallrate der deutschen Panzer teils aus Gerüchten/subjektiven Wahrnehmungen (wie am Beispiel des Tigers) bestehen.

      @@oklino Guderian hat es aber in seinem Buch, ,Erinnerung eines Soldaten, so beschrieben, dass es mehr ausfälle durch Getriebeschäden und fehlende Übung der Panzerbesatzungen gab, als durch Feindeinwirkung. Ausserdem zu wenig und zu Spät.

      @@oklino Das Panzermuseum in Munster sollte man nicht immer für bare Münze nehmen! Ich persönlich halte mich lieber an die Bücher derer, die dabei waren!

    Tiger gets all the glory, but the Panther was the best German tank of WWII in my opinion.

    Yupp Germany really had the most intimidating tanks of ww2.

      ikr..... But Russia and America were just able to out mass-produce them by numbers that were just out of sight.
      True, Germany was able to about make 25,000 Panzerkampfwagen IVs, but Russia and America more than eclipsed that.
      But sure, I agree. The German war machine was a force to be reckoned with.

      The best tank of WWII, the russian T-34, was also started the same exact way. Electric starters weren’t that powerful in those days. Shit, when it was cold, tank crews drained the oil and warmed it by fire…that way it was easier to start.

      @@deplorablelibertarian Yes. I like theirs too. My favorite T-34 is the model 1941 T-34/76 in either the welded or cast turret. That thing's nifty. I also like my own country's Sherman and M-48 Patton. Love the Sherman Firefly also.

      @@deplorablelibertarianI wouldn’t say that the t34 was the best tank of ww2 the best heavy tank was definitely the is2 but the best tank was probably just the classic Sherman it was reliable and could fit many roles

      The German tanks were okay at best. Yes, the Tiger was good, but not much else.
      Yes I do hold this view for most tanks in WW2.
      The only other good tank there was in my eyes were the Sherman's and variants, and maybe the British crusader and Cromwell. Everything else was crap or just okay.
      Though my favourite tank is absolutely the Panzer II. Literally just because it's small and fast.

      @@HrLBolle well the thing is being technically right is often not the way to socialize. Being careful with language when its neccessary s of utmost importance but in cases like this it will be easier for for anybody to understand and refer to it

    When the starter went out in my M-60, they simply hooked me up to another tank and pulled me forward as I pumped the manual fuel pump with built in fuel heater. I guess they don't have anything to do that for them in the museum.

      @@rdallas81 The SU-76 (Samokhodnaya Ustanovka 76) was a Soviet light self-propelled gun. The SU-76 was based on a lengthened version of the T-70 light tank chassis and armed with the ZIS-3 mod. 1942 76-mm divisional field gun. Multi purpose combat role.

    Can't help but feel that the German army would have had more going for it if it had stuck with the Panzer IV, Stugs, and improved 3s perhaps and made trucks out of the money used for the Panther, Tigers, and such. Same with the wonder weapons of the air. So much that might have made many more FWs to battle the bombers. Good thing Adolf loved a good wonder weapon. They are beautiful tanks though.
