I like to cut out a piece of magnetic sheet to stick inside the lid. This allows me to keep things like razor blades(up to x4) paper clips, sim tools, needles from sitting loose in the tin. It also adds some weight to the lid. 11:01

I really loved this vid. Felt nostalgic for your early years! I actually will be picking up some of those tins and putting some mini kits together. Love your channel!
I carry a Micra down in my knife pocket and I think it gets used more than my knife. I almost never need tiny pliers but I often need scissors, a pry bar, a Phillips driver, and tweezers.
replacing the micra with a nextool mini flagship or a victorinox is a no-brainer for me. It works well and you get the good tools that you need and like.
I like this updated Altoids can kit! I still have mine in my car from the last time you made a video about it and I actually used mine just the other day. Definite game changer 😎
The Tac-N-Tweeze are an essential part of my edc ever since I found them. They come in handy all the time at work for splinters and are almost unnoticeable in the pocket
@@brandonlowe3299 I've been using lathes and milling machines for 20 years now and I've always used my knife, but sure it's horses for courses, nice to have something dedicated
The MQR V3 Urban Carvers magnet may be better, but it just reminded me of another that would fit in there, besides the usual suspects. Although they now seem perpetually out of stock when I happen to think to look, I bought a package of Ring shaped Neodymium Magnets at Home Depot. They stick so well they are hard to pry off. So I attached a small loop of Spectra or Dyneema line/cord to them, which is made possible by the aforementioned ring shape. This makes them easy to pull off to use. They would fit flat on the lid, and the ring also makes them easy to attach to a retrieval line.
Some nice products in there. A Swisscard fits nicely into an Altoids tin, so there's your pen, scissors, tweezers all in one plus a multitool (of sorts - I wouldn't want to use it for any serious work), magnifier and toothpick. And if you get the nailcare version you get decent file instead of the blade, which you'd probably not use anyway.
As people with 5 knives and 3 lights and 2 multitools and all this crap on us at all times it's not like I can judge an offshoot I think is silly 😂 more content is more content, exited to see you beat up some more knives that video was cool
Great for general survival I agree. I think this was urban edc.. probably no need for fish hook and char cloth ? I use these in my spanker outdoor pouch. Good to add a couple of nails and some braided wire ? 👍
Your content is awesome, Taylor. I've been watching and into edc since covid started. It's been like 4 years! Damn. Keep up the videos like you always have. It's all fun. Thanks man.
Nice kit, there are more tools out there these days than one can imagine, the internet access to information and manufactured items that one would likely never have heard about before has changed the world. If it wasn't in a magazine add when I was young you never heard about it, hard to grasp for younger people.
Nice video Taylor!!! Thanks for putting this together!!! The one thing I have not seen before is the Mini Ratchet Wrench - 711L. I've needed one for a while I'm going online and buying one THANKS!!!
I have a leather style PS in one of my kits, but the Victorinox classic is smaller has better scissors and a tooth pick and pair of tweezers so wouldn’t that be a better option? Great clip love the ideas and tools you suggest
I have an issue with the Micra in any edc kit. Before I go into that, though, thanks for putting out some great content. I always get at least a couple ideas about great products, or streamlining my edc from your videos. I have to say, though, the Micra is a bad tool. The scissors are flimsy on both of mine. Leatherman also recently raised the price from ~$35 (iirc) to $50. A much better tool, and this is just off the top of my head, I'm sure there are many other, maybe better, options, is a Victorinox Classic SD Alox. I'd have to go dig a Micra out to compare size, but I'm 99% certain the SAK is smaller, and has much better scissors, plus a very similar tool set.
A suitable replacement for the micra is the sog power pint its a really good set of pliers with decent tools on it plus it can be used as a 1/4 bit driver
Put a SwissCard Lite and a Victorinox Midnight Manager USB in there to replace some of the stuff, takes a lot less space and better quality scissors, builtin emergency lighting, blade, nailfile, etc., will do better on a lot of the problems with the micra. Having it in my EDC saved me a lot of times. Can store important documents on the USB (dobule sided USB-A and USB-C) drive too, mine is a bootable emergency workstation!
It sounds like all you’re using from the micra is scissors, if that’s the case maybe the replacement scissors from the Swiss card would be better for you? You can hold them closed with an o ring, bit of straw or shrink wrap.
The actual rich kids like Jon Gadget carry stuff like tinder and fishing hooks in their urban EDC... In comparison this one has a piece of disposable nail file instead of a customized Victorinox. I have been doing lots of impromptu maintenance (furniture, desktop computers, videogames, random household machinery) and the expensive things like the Wiha bits and the 711 ratchet shave off a lot of time from the work. I have used lockpicks to open padlocks whose key was trashed, without much fuss, more than once in the past months (the neighbors would have a fit if they saw me cutting the padlocks with a bolt cutter) and I actually wish to learn more about them, cringe makers not withstanding. I do miss, in his kit, some USB cables and adapters - possibly an charger and external battery too - , I use those at least once a week.

cool kit man.. juste isn't it stupid to have a handcuff key in your kit ? i mean if your handcuffed by a cop, by a domina, by a kidnaper then you probalby won't be able to get that key...
Plier based multitools are worthless. A 111mm or 130mm SAK and a dedicated plier(I prefer a tiny set of vicegrips) are the way to go. If you wanna carry a plier based too in addition, that actually makes sense, but not as the primary.
