I love how this scene visibly shows the point where Philip chooses to turn towards Elizabeth instead of stomping away. In that kiss he helped communicate why he was being snippy - he missed her. Falling in love is easy, but this is such a sweet demonstration of how to stay in love.
Actually he felt insecure. Elizabeth and Porchy have always been close. Too close for Philip. This was not just i missed you. This was I'm still your husband, not him.
@@joshuaplotkin8826 Yeah, that's true, there's a bit of possessiveness mixed in with it. But he was already expressing that jealousy and frustration verbally - underneath it all was basically "Hey, I love you, I missed you, and remember me? I'm the guy you married!" :) And then he takes a moment to empathize with her about something he knew probably caused her tense/snippy mood which turns the whole thing around. Such a sweet scene.
@@ARIADNALIBRE not the best of grammar. But I have been married 28 years. There are plenty of snippy and cool moments. I kiss my wife’s hand and hug her. That normally softens her up. That's what I appreciate of these series. Nowadays is hard to enjoy a nice show without it being filled with cringy sex scenes. The lack of them in this show is most likely out of respect for the royalty, but to me, small hints of intimacy like these are more enjoyable than a full soft p*rn scene that goes on forever. I hated that episode of s2 when Tony is doing the do with the asian girl, I don't even know where THAT scene came from but it was uncalled for.
I enjoyed him as Captain Jack Randall in Outlander, although he is the most disgusting character in any series I’ve watched. Tobias embodies his roles and really brings them to life.
I love how they portray there relationship. They don’t have sex scenes which I’m so glad about but the affection they have for another is on another level, the odd touch and kiss here and there just makes it work so weel
I was gunna say Olivia kinda looked shook idk if they retook it after he originally kissed her cuz they liked it and made her them realize but it seems this was the actually first shot cuz Olive dose kinda look like wtf .
Adam no. He openly flirted with women in front of his wife and have told her at times some women were more attractive than her. Even in reality, he flirts with Penny Branbourne.
That's because he knows that he's exactly the type of man the queen should have married. But she was in love with Phillip from the first time she met him as a schoolgirl.
For me, this is one of the most moving scenes in the whole show. It shows the deeper love that grows with time, with effort, and which so many have forgotten exists- on account of the belief that nothing could surpass the initial passion that arises in the first flames between a man and a woman. I love this.
I think he gained a lot of maturity. I don't know how accurate the portrayal of the young Philip was, but at least on the show, from the clips I've seen, he often seemed petty/spiteful and immature.
I love this moment in the end: Philip smile and giddy Elizabeth. With all ups and downs in their marriage, there is still love and devotion between them. For 73 years. And I love it!
During this period of time, they had many ups and down like on the verge of divorce and get separated, but she being the Queen she never let it happen whatever the prize it might have payed .. To present the monarchs marriage successful. It was tough but she did managed to achieve it.
Literally makes you tear up, there relationship through all of the shit, they have both endured in the position they are in... There relationship is the rock that has held everything together in the royal family.. You can see the unwavering genuine love that is there
this scene made me tear up a bit lol, I don't know why, i just like to see them happy. and makes me think about growing old with my partner, seeing how their marriage has gone through a lot and still have love within.
Great 💋! Sometimes, a couple doesn't need to say a lot to convey their needs or desires. It's done with a glance, a kiss, a hug. This scene perfectly exemplified that. Kudos to Olivia and Toby!
I love how the feeling of love you can feel in these scenes between the two of them, even when they are disagreeing. There is still this mutual love and respect. These actors are amazing!!!
Tobias is such a great actor he made me cry when he was talking to her mom, when he accepted that he had lost his faith and during his visit to Aberfan 💔
Well, people who sit in glass houses shouldn't throw with stones! ... Does that sound about right, your royal highness?! 😉 Anyhow, he does make up his mind immediately in this scene!

Giddy Elizabeth and Phillip's cheeky smile is something I'll never get over. That move was sooo Olivia. This scene had me weak in the knees.
She never kisses him first. It's hard to believe that the Queen is so reserved in private life.
They say she's very reserved. It's almost a form of shyness to me. I bet behind she opens up when they're alone.
She probably just took off all clothes and thats a sign for him to get moving..
The queen looks like a shy person and its accurate act that way if you are shy and the partner its extrovert
@@piloncillo09 correct. I am shy. My fiance is very extroverted. It's a good balance.
