No one ever noticed what Trinidad said to De La Hoya at the end, when they embraced... Trinidad: "I know we're both Champions, but my career has not been easy. My career has not been easy, I've had many stumbles. It was hard...hard. I swear to you, it was. Buena pelea (good fight!)."
Regardless of the outcome, ODLH was a classy fighter and gave props where it was due even if he felt he won. Not too many fighters have the same class nowadays. They don't make them like they used to.

@@peterloks53 At the end of it all, scoring fights is inexact and the truth is that more often than not, there's more than one way to look at certain things. This fight was not all that easy to score as many seem to think. There were some rounds there in the beginning that were a lot closer than many want to admit. Oscar did appear to get the better of Tito in alot of rounds but too often he was on the defensive and didn't land enough HURTFUL punches. Tito on the other hand wasn't always landing but when he did land, his punches carried a thud and to Oscar's credit he took them well, but he was never willing to take the risks he needed to ENSURE he was winning the rounds. Down the stretch, I think he simply started to tire and struggle with Trinidad's pace and tried to win the fight by simply not getting hurt, and on the night it wasn't enough. Do not get me wrong, I can see an argument for a De La Hoya win. But, I can also see that it's possible and LIKELY that the judges were probably watching Trinidad's constant pressure and harder punches, especially down the stretch when Oscar became overly defensive and chose self preservation over anything else. The only thing that I am really steadfast on is that I think it was a close fight. Very close. I personally scored it a draw years ago when I watched it because I felt neither guy really did enough, but I can see an argument for a Trinidad win too.

Completely agree. I'm not sure how Tito won this fight. The bigger and cleaner punches came from Oscar even while "running." I'm not a huge Oscar fan but he put on a clinic.
I saw that fight and many times after. It was close. but at best I had it a draw. That ring was huge and that was disgusting performance by De la Hoya, but to be as fair as I can. I had it a draw.
De La Hoya needed to fight al little more, after all it's a fight. You can't just think that because you won the majority of the first 7 rounds that you won the fight and that you can just dance and not throw good punches and avoid fighting. He paid the price for his bad judgement. He fought very well the first 7 rounds but then like the bunny he went to sleep and Trinidad like the turtle kept working and won the fight in the end.
Look at Floyd. He has a ton of fights where he uses crazy D, klitchko and even more so Lennox would set back use their massive reach and skilled jabs 90% of the fight, Byrd would dodge the entire fight smacking you, Roy Jones used to run around the ring the entire fight in and out popping his opp driving em nuts and finally Manny Paciuao in a lot of fights would run in circles in and out popping in waves. Im just saying so many ways. N in oscars defense the announcer even said things were being said that he couldn’t out box felix. Any how sorry so much i got going on the fighters.
@@everettjohnson8776 you're right about defense in boxing and i think de la Hoya was a better boxer than Tito ever was. Problem with boxing is that you never know how judges will score the fight. They could've easily give it to de la Hoya that night and I would have thought that was fair.
This fight must kill Oscar to watch. He completely outclassed Tito for 9 rounds, and then ran for the last 3 rounds. That being said Oscar clearly won the fight. He landed 100 more punches for Christs sake

I've seen the fight so many times and I say : Oscar gave Tito a boxing lesson . I got Oscar winning a unanimous decision by at least 3 points , on my score card.
There's a long standing tradition among boxing judges in major bouts to disproportionately punish boxers who coast at the end and/or reward boxers who finish strongly... regardless of what occurred earlier. What actually happens is that if one boxer clearly wins a round, they will mark it on their scorecard for them as expected. However, with close rounds, they will put a little dot on the card for the boxer who they think had a slight edge, or perhaps leave it blank if it was dead even. They do this in order to leave themselves the option to come back later and change it if they wish to... or in other words to "punish" a poor finish or "reward" a strong finish. It's kind've an open secret among judges.

@@drewmoreno2804 I’ve been watching boxing for over 35 years, so I do know about boxing. First of all, it was very obvious that the commentators were bias. So someone who knows about boxing doesn’t let that influence them. You can’t win a fight by running all the time, it doesn’t matter how stylish you look at doing it. He was throwing punches but he was hardly connecting anything. Tito wasn’t connecting much either but he was the aggressor and you win points by that. Secondly, once Tito started connecting solidly in the 9th Oscar started running even more for the rest of the fight. Up to that point (9th) it could’ve been anybody’s fight. But those last 4 rounds that Tito won very decisively gave him the notch. So stop saying you know about boxing when it’s clear you don’t and stop saying you’re puertorican because you ain’t. You just saying that so people would start saying “Oh you see even a puertorican is admitting that Oscar won” so stop that bullshit. You’re most likely Mexican. As far as Tito not giving Oscar the rematch that’s bullshit. Tito always wanted the rematch which would’ve pocketed even more millions to his account.
ROY JONES WAS SO ACCURATE WITH MANY OF HIS FIGHT PREDICTIONS IT WAS SCARY! MORE THAN I THINK ANY OTHER FIGHT COMMENTATOR. MUCH LOVE ALWAYS TO ROY JONES FOR BEING ONE OF THE FIGHTERS EVER & GREATEST ENTERTAINERS EVER IN THE RING!
AND SO WHAT - whether he slipped; slided; backpaddled or ran!! It's called TACTICS/precaution... To bad he trusted the outcome. Because after all.., he DÍD WIN on points - was unscrupulously robbed - and Trinidad became lucky!!
Well we found out why Oscar ran over the next two years. Tito went on to KO David Reid, Fernando Vargas and William Joppy all champions and a weight division or two heavier. DLH ran because his strategy was to box and it was working for the first 9 rounds. It is very hard to be on the outside - moving and box for the whole fight, but vs a world class opponent and one of the greats of all time - it is bound to be a mistake. When you are tired you just have to sit down and have a rest on the ropes and ply your trade there or hold him. No one can run and circle for the whole fight its just not humanly possible. If you see SRL vs Hagler, he gets tired then holds and sometimes exchanges and sometimes lays on the ropes. In this bout there were no exchanges. It was straight DLH moving and boxing - where he possibly tired himself out.
Trinidad got tooken to school in this fight De La Hoya just didn't finish aggressive enough for the judges but that's what Oscar gets for letting off the gas ⛽
In this fight , Oscar throwing far more and landing far more should get the win . But hey , it's not like this is the first or last time the winner turns out losing . That's boxing .....
Ray was DAM lucky he didn't get knocked out by Marvin !!! He waited years to consider a rematch with Marvin !!! Which most people feel Hagler won the fight !! Many have wondered why Ray didn't run like that against Norris. Ray was a good fighter but not a Marvellous Marvin Hagler !!! Hagler was very Special !!!
@@richardalexander4300Ray Leonard was rusty and came out of his three year retirement to fight Hagler, he was rustier and out of prime compared to Hagler.
I thought De la Hoya got jobbed, I had him winning 115/113, he might of gave away the last 2/3 rounds, but won most of the earlier rounds, even the punch stats proved De la Hoya landed more punches in every round, I can't understand how they had Leonard who did more running and holding against Hagler the decision, but had De la Hoya losing for doing the same thing, but to better effect.
Whole fight Oscar was running away NOT fighting like typical Oscar. WHY cause he knew Tito's power was dangerous so he didn't want to face him pound for pound. This shouldve been a great match, instead it was boring. Honesty, I think the judges said "Yes Oscar got more punches but we aren't about to give a W to to someone who just adopted a coward style of punch n' run". Tito won because Oscar bored everyone.
@@russellleblanc1539 I don't agree, for someone who was meant to be running he sure hit Trinidad with quite a quite a few multi punch combos, he fought a smart fight, why play into Trinidad's hands? People need to appreciate the art of Boxing, Whittaker, Nunn, Mayweather were some of the best defensive fighters of their eras and achieved great things, the art of Boxing is to hit and not get hit, not about getting your brain pounded in, if that's the case hardly any fighter would be normal after their careers, yes there were 3 rounds I thought Oscar was too negative but even Ray Charles could clearly c he won the fight, Oscar had exciting fights with Vargas, Mosley, Quartey, to name a few, most of his fights were exciting, so I think you're being harsh in saying he ran throughout the fight, Leonard ran more during his fight with Hagler and landed a flurry of pitty pat punches but was deemed to of beaten Hagler, Oscar did a much more convincing job on Tito, but people credit Leonard and discredit Oscar for putting on a more convincing display, even Hopkins who was the naturally bigger man didn't stand and trade with Tito, would u?
@@user-ls7bw9rp6k listen Whittaker Mayweather and others play dodge and defense very well.. what they do is skilled boxing just like Oscar has shown in most of his fights. But in THIS fight that was not defensive skills. He was RUNNING AWAY. Look at how 1. He's so far back away not even giving his opponent a chance to get in. Every time Tito throws a punch Oscar literally jumps backwards not letting Tito even have a chance to fight. 2. You want defensive skill stand toe to toe, dodge left and right, weave.. but again he was a good 3 to 4 feet back constantly jumping backwards anytime Tito makes a move. That's not strategy, it was cowardly and boring. 3. I've seen so much better from Oscar. He could play defense and still wow the crowd. Instead he said "If this guy lands his punches on me I'm done. I'll just run, run, run, jab, run, run, run, jab". He legit had the first half of the fight but by the second half he felt a few punches and noticed the power was too much. Didn't want to give him any opportunity. Again I get defense but you still need to stand and fight. This was a cowardly second half and NOT the Oscar were used to. No damn way they were giving Tito his first L to someone that would've never had a chance with him in a fight. Giving him an L cus his opponent ran away? Hell no.. Tito came to fight, Oscar came to run. So he could go run back home with an L. I'm telling you this was not skill, and Oscar HAS SKILL. This was straight up fear and relying on the judges to give you a W on technicalities. Just rewatch the second half volume all the way up. Listen to the crowd who mostly had Oscars back at the beginning of the fight being Oscar was on his home turf. By the second half he was getting booo'd out the building. Each time he leaped backwards or to the sides to avoid any movements of Tito the booos followed. Yes you're a fighter but you're also an entertainer and This was NOT an entertaining fight. At the end Tito climbs the ropes to cheers and support. Oscar gets lifted up on to ones shoulders and raises his arms to a crowd of boooos even louder than Tito's cheers. Even Oscars own fans who that night still loved and supported him needed him to know that style is unacceptable. These are cherished professional records on the line, you gotta show up and fight buddy. Otherwise don't show up because you cannot expect Tito to LITERALLY chase you all night just to get a punch in. If I were Tito I would've just stopped moving, stood still in one spot dramatically so Oscar could see the obvious lack of movement put my arms up and mouthed so the cameras could lip read "You gonna fight? Or run tonight? C'mon this is ridiculous". I'm almost certain the boos + the taunt would at least gotten the Old Oscar out to fight to avoid being called cowardly. Listen to the fans. Listen to the professional comminators saying "I got Oscar technically winning but this... well this was not a fight nor the Oscar I know" ... "He's relying on the judges to give him a technicality win in points". I am someone who loves a good defensive fight like Wittickure who'd stand right there toe to toe this you weaving and dodging so beautifully. But again this was RUNINNG AWAY. Leonard cannot be compare with this mess. He'd run but STILL remain in punch range staying in the action zone. The is a difference between dodging and weaving in the zone and literally leaving the fight everytime the fight started. How are you literally gonna bounce everytime Tito even sneezes. There's a reason Oscar didn't win because his attempts of have this defensive strategy looked less of a strat and more of a scared run away.
@@russellleblanc1539 No 1 I haven't got time to go through such a long comment, no disrespect, No 2, as much as I admire gd defensive fighters, I found some of Whittaker's performances more negative than Oscar's performance that night, Boxing is about winning the way one choses to, I'm sure if u were faced with the prospect of Trinidad coming at u, u wouldn't stand and trade with him? It's ok for people who've never stepped in a ring to be demanding blood all the time, to me Oscar entertained more than he turned fans off throughout his career and that deserves respect.
I think what takes into account here is the crowd is largely in favor of de la hoya and when you watch it without sound it helps judge it better. De la hoya did amazing in the middle rounds but wasn't dominating trinidad and trimidad took it in the later rounds. De la hoya was the cash cow so to say it was rigged against him doesnt make sense. Trinidad won a close fight imo. I can't see it going de la hoyas way but I can see a draw and majority decision trinidad sounds like the right way it should have been judged. The crowd didnt react to a lot of punches landed by trinidad and when de la hoya did a combi the crowd went crazy even if only 1 lunch landed ehile trinidad was giving constant pressure and landing punches consistently. If you think de la hoya won then watch it without sound and look at it as two boxers you dont know. Trinidad takes it every time. Sorry if you dont want to hear it but no way de la hoya won this fight.

But, King knew that Trinidad was gonna lose that rematch. I think De La Hoya and Trinidad even got together for a dinner or some shit, in which De La Hoya tried to talk Trinidad into a rematch. I just made a comment scoring each round with a a description of my reasoning for each round.... I came to the EXACT score as the judges and if you look you can see that I could've gotten ANY of the three scores, but I could not have gotten Oscar winning.
@@upplsuckimcool16 Well then you're an idiot. De La Hoya won 7 of the first 8 rounds. There were no 10-8 rounds. So 7 beats 5. Should've been 115-113 DLH.
Even though de la hoya ran in the last 4 rounds, I'd say 3 of those he was still landing hard right hands on tito & he was ready to be taken out, i honestly don't understand what the judges actually saw i love tito but deep down he knows he lost this one
You're wrong, I scored this in a comment round by round and came up with the EXACT score the judges did. round 2 was a draw, so was round 1 but I gave it to Felix because of his pressure... Oscar gave away the last 3 rounds, and lost 2 others by trying to steal it at the very end. There were some rounds where he ran away taking huge shots then trying to steal it at the very end. And you have to be very cautious about that. If you are getting beat for the first 2.5 minutes of a round, then win the last 30 seconds.. you have to win REALLY REALLY big in that last 30 seconds to in the round, and he just didn't.
@@frankmata1812 But Oscar wanted to cheat Tito in the amount of money for the rematch even not answering Tito's question when he asked him if he was worth 10 million that itself was disrespectful so he's dad had him move up in weight to win and get a better deal and became a champion in that division..!
You guys need to understand that when a fighter coast like De La Hoya for the last 4 rounds don't get rematches. Check your history before throwing your opinions on others. Damn shame Oscar did this. The only real blemish on his career.

If Oscar would have fought the last couple of rounds he would have been knocked out. After the fight interview Trinidad said he came to win and to fight. Trinidad came to brawl And represent Puerto Rico he knew how important it was for him to win When Oscar fought an old Macho Camacho he wasn’t running around he was chasing Camacho around The ring like he was possessed, but he knew he would get knocked out by Tito
BS if Oscar went after him around 8 or 9 he probably would have stopped him. Oscar win that fight easily. Quartey was a much harder fight for Oscar than Tito was.
1 second ago Yeah ok ...all of a sudden he wanted to show the world ...his version of fighting like Floyd Mayweather lol, His excuse for not fighting the fight everyone came to see. Trinidad chased him around for 12 rounds the last three was a joke. He difinetly would have been knocked out ...IF ...he would have fought the fight. Chavez would have never gone out like that. There was three judges ..a lot of people saying ODLA won in the comments but you all wish he didn’t run and the judges scored it on point Felix won
@@spirituallyhigh2954 Trinidad wasn’t really chasing him though. He got bloodied and buckled more than once. Trinidad was walking towards him slowly all night while getting smacked in the face every time he pressed to hard and he wasn’t landing anything for 9 rounds. Oscar wasn’t holding like Floyd he was circling and boxing. If Trinidad wanted to win so bad why didn’t he do jack shit for 9 rounds? I’ll tell ya why Because if he would have pressed the fight he would have been beaten to the punch and knocked out by Oscar and he knew it. He only started swinging and mostly missing I might add, in the last three rounds when Oscar started moving away and not punching. It was a robbery and only a fanboy would say the fight was even close. Oscar won it 9-3 or 8-4. You shouldn’t have to KO someone or win every round of a fight to get a decision. That’s just making excuses for incompetence. Trinidad didn’t do shit for 9 rounds so he didn’t earn the decision.
Dela Hoya had to run around because he knew he would get knocked out Lol... the last three rounds he couldn’t throw anymore punches from doing all that running. I can’t remember those two being separated during the fight... Hoya didn’t want to be no where near him....lol....so he “boxed” He didn’t do that with Fargas when he fought him... let’s keep it real... team Hoya’s plan was to do the May-weather or go home getting knocked out...look at the 9th round Hoya caught a sample of what was to come. ..that made him run even more lol the crowd told the story you heard more cheers than boos Like I said Chavez would have NEVER went out like that. Especially when it was a rivalry
@@spirituallyhigh2954 No Trinidad had to stand there like a punching bag and get slapped around all night because if he really tried to do anything he would have gotten knocked out lol Trinidad was exposed as one dimensional that night. He did box and move with Vargas as well but he got him late. He boxed with Quartey as well she gave him a much richer fight than the limited Trinidad. Chavez would have never gotten in the ring with Trinidad. Oscar was listening to his corner who told him to box. Hopkins took the game plan and did the same thing to Trinidad and so did wright and so did jones. lol

Looking back, Oscar is probably the most unlucky legends when it comes to decision; considering they could give all the decisions to Floyd Mayweather Jr, running from this opponents NOT only in the last 3 rounds but for the whole 12 rounds, in most of his fights..
Maybe. One could argue that he was fortunate to win decisions against Whitaker and Quartey before this. Nonetheless, in his prime, he fought just about everyone a fan would have wanted to see him fight. He is a legend because of it, regardless of the results.
Wow lovely fight!! Im a big fan of this guys both of them! Prime de la hoya prime Trinidad! "I have to admit I was a bit tired," De La Hoya told HBO a few years later. "I've never boxed like that in my life, my legs were shaking. I thought I had the fight in the bag after nine rounds, so I'm going to cruise the last three rounds. That's what my corner told me too, so I said, 'OK, let's do it.'" Oscar knew is was going to get knocked out a ran cowardly, Trinidad wins by decision
Really? Both went on to have success. Trinidad unified at 154 lbs and ended coming short against Hopkins. De La Hoya moved up to 154 lbs and beat Vargas before losing to Mosley (controversial) and Hopkins. But neither guy really took real punishment in this fight.
De la Hoya won this fight and got robbed. However the judges returned the favor many years later when they gave De la Hoya the decision over Felix Sturm
Robbery!! Oscar won every round, and boxed beautifully! The judges never give boxers credit. Chasing is not scoring! Look at the concubox.. Oscar landed more punches.. straight robbery!!!😐🤬
Oscar and Felix landed almost exactly the same amount of power punches. And oscar ran away most of the end of the fight. Oscar was the better boxer, but he blew it... straight gave it away. I made a comment going round by round and came to the EXACT scor as the judges, and if you see the description of each round you can see that I could've had any of the three scores the judges gave and there was no way I could've have Oscar winning.

De La Hoya got robbed in this fight and as well as the second Shane Mosley fight. If Floyd Mayweather had these judges throughout his career he would have never won half his fights.
117-112, Oscar De La Hoya DLH: 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 Tito: *4, 10, 12 Even: 2 Rounds 1 & 2 were close, but if I were to give the edge to anyone, it would be the Golden Boy. Round 3 was a clear-cut round for De La Hoya. Round 4 is basically the whole fight: Oscar bounces Tito's head like a toy with his jab, while Tito's aggression enables him to land a power shot here. The problem for Tito is that Oscar lands his own power shots as well. And those jabs aren't pitty-pat punches. They're making Tito's nose bleed throughout the night. Oscar landed a bunch of more punches, but I felt bad for Tito and gave him this round. Rounds 5-7 are clearly Oscar's. No way Tito wins these. Tito gets in power shots here and there, but see my comment on round 4 and you see why De La Hoya is dominating this fight. Round 8 was close. Like with round 4, you have some power punches by Tito that makes you want to give him the round. (He is coming forward after all.) But De La Hoya's constant barrage of jabs and his power shots are just too much, in my opinion. Round 9 is Oscar's best round of the night. Total domination. Rounds 10 is Tito. Oscar just isnt' punching/landing enough. Round 11 doesn't have Oscar doing much, but neither is Tito. And De La Hoya lands some good shots here. I was surprised to find myself giving it to the Golden Boy. Round 12 is Tito's best round: 3 good right hands, but it's too little and too late. Judge Logist had it 115-114 for Tito. He gave round 9 to Tito and round 12 to Oscar. Utterly laughable. He also gave Tito three of the first four rounds to Tito. (One of them a draw but all the same.) Ridiculous. Judge Roth had it 115-113 for Tito. He gave rounds 9 and 12 to Tito. At least he got one of those right. He also gave three of the first four rounds to Tito. In fact, the only round both gave to Oscar was round 3 in the first four: Basically, unless Oscar DOMINATED the action, he wasn't winning a round on the judge's scorecards. Why is this? Well, Judge Logist probably had some funny business going on there. I mean, how do you give Oscar round 12 unless you want to make it appear close after messing up the previous 11 rounds? Judge Roth, on the other hand, at least gave Oscar credit for his dominance in the middle rounds, giving rounds 5-8 to the Golden Boy. But, then, old Jerry Roth gave round 9--OSCAR'S BEST ROUND!!!-to Tito. Why? Well, had old Jerry given Oscar round 9, then that would've given the Golden Boy 6 rounds, making Tito unlikely to get anything more than a draw. Judge Hamada was the only judge to have a somewhat decent scorecard, giving Oscar rounds 1 and 3, 5-7, and 9 (Oscar's best round). But how can you not give Oscar round 8? Yeah, Tito landed good shots (it was one of his better rounds in a terrible performance), but De La Hoya had it competitive the whole round before landing vicious powershots towards the end. (It wasn't like Tito was dominating. He was just doing better than terrible.) The very suspicious scorecard by Logist (worst one by far), the refusal by Roth to give Oscar his best round (Logist did the same), and the total CLINIC Oscar put on through nine rounds: robbery or not, the judges got it wrong. Oscar won this fight. Just plodding forward and landing occassional power shots doesn't win you a boxing match when you're getting totally outclassed via jabs and power shots yourself. Good news for Oscar is that most fans consider this a robbery and I've noticed that Tito's star has dimmed a lot since he retired, while Oscar's has risen. Side note: De La Hoya thoroughoutly beat Quartey and legitimately won the Whitaker fight. He was the best welterweight of this millennium so far. Not as good as Leonard, Hearns, Duran, Benitez, etc., but one of the elite of the elite.
114-114 DRAW. De La Hoya blew it by giving away the last few rounds. No way Trinidad won it though. I would be fine with a De La Hoya slight win but I had it even.
I had it exactly the same as you but opposite. I had it basically even but in no way did Oscar win. I actually scored it round by round without knowing the outcome and watching a few rounds twice and even muted sometimes to make sure. The problem was that Oscar would be losing a round until bout 20 seconds left then come back and try stealing it. You have to do A LOT to win a round by only winning 20 seconds of it . And that's why I gave a few more rounds to Felix. My comment should be near the top I really put a lot of effort into it and I got the EXACT score the judges did, and put reasons behind my scoring on each round, and you an see by those reasons that I could've gotten ANY of the 3 judges scores, but in no way could I have gotten Oscar winning. My final score was 115-114 Felix.
As a fighter for so long de la Hoya corner should've known judges don't put up w/ that nonsense judges loves the aggressor fighter especially when they're aclean and professional BOXER likeTrinidad
De verdad tito Trinidad fué y es Grande en el boxeo Dios lo bendiga siempre . Un talento Puertorriqueño!
Regardless of the outcome, ODLH was a classy fighter and gave props where it was due even if he felt he won. Not too many fighters have the same class nowadays. They don't make them like they used to.

Roy Jones pre-fight analysis was spot on
That fucking running away the last few rounds cost De La Hoya the fight... damn pathetic.
Let's go ahead and ignore the whopping he gave him all the other rounds.
Agreed.

Among Tito fans, this was more about Oscar losing than Trinidad actually winning. There is no way anyone thought Felix won decisively.
Completely agree. I'm not sure how Tito won this fight. The bigger and cleaner punches came from Oscar even while "running." I'm not a huge Oscar fan but he put on a clinic.
I thought there was some really close rounds. The one way he could is based on Jerry Roths scorecard, with Tito winning rounds 1, 2, 4,

The 90s version of Ray Leonard vs Marvin HAGLER. The only difference is Oscar abandoned his game plan. Ray Leonard never abandoned his.

I wasn’t aware Halpern died. That’s terrible
As always Dela Hoya lost a major championship fight. Despite losing every big fight Oscar made a huge amount of money.
Eh he arguably got robbed against Felix and Shane Mosley rematch. He won against Quartey, Whitaker, and Chavez which were all big fights at the time
Oscar was robbed. And this fight was a legacy fight for him
I think what takes into account here is the crowd is largely in favor of de la hoya and when you watch it without sound it helps judge it better.

Jab and run didnt work out for him even in his home town. The fight wasn't fixed. De La Hoya listened to his corner, and ran the last 3 rounds. Still should have won the fight, if he won the first 5-6 rounds, and then maybe every other round, minus the last 2-3 rounds in which he coasted.

But, King knew that Trinidad was gonna lose that rematch. I think De La Hoya and Trinidad even got together for a dinner or some shit, in which De La Hoya tried to talk Trinidad into a rematch. My Respect for Oscar De La Hoya
No doubt, true class. Regardless of his personal issues or what not…
1st things 1st.. Oscar De La Hoya did NOT show up for this fight. We all were used to seeing Oscar stand his ground defend while waiting for openings. Instead we got this new cowardly punch and run style from Oscar. Fact here is Oscar was warned about how devastating just one left from Tito can be and to avoid it at all cost. I honestly did not think he would take that advice so much that he would literaly run away the who fight.
2nd this fight shouldve been entertaining, instead it was so boring. It was Oscar running while Tito chasing him. It doesn't matter how many more punches Oscar landed, Nobody is about to hand a W to someone with a cowardly run away style of fighting. ESPECIALLY so if the opponent has ZERO losses. You gonna hand this kid his first loss to someone who wouldn't even stand and fight? Forget it, give Oscar the L and tell him to next time show up to fight.

De la Hoya was so robbed. He did give trinidad a boxing lesson.
I still don't know how Trinidad won this fight
I just made a comment scoring each round with a a description of my reasoning for each round.... I came to the EXACT score as the judges and if you look you can see that I could've gotten ANY of the three scores, but I could not have gotten Oscar winning.
@@upplsuckimcool16 Well then you're an idiot. De La Hoya won 7 of the first 8 rounds. There were no 10-8 rounds. So 7 beats 5. Should've been 115-113 DLH.

@Very Macho Man pero tu sabes lo que es un compubox 2 personas apretando botones donde ellos creen que dio un golpe Oscar del round 5 en adelante no hiso nada solo correr y por round conecto muy poco
De La Hoya even landed more punches and snuck in some good ones even in that 12th round...I think Tito landed maybe 4 that entire round?
ALWAYS BROUGHT OUR BEST 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
But puertorico is number#1 🇵🇷
That. Why boricua win over a mexican on boxin. And. ⚾ too. 🏆
México always has good boxer , what happened to Puerto Rico now days??
Que viva Puerto Rico .legend feliz Tito Trinidad proud to be puertorican you know
De La Hoya got robbed in this fight and as well as the second Shane Mosley fight. If Floyd Mayweather had these judges throughout his career he would have never won half his fights.
114-114 is not a tobbery..even HBO had it like that and De La Hoya was HBO's fighter...
Ke dua petinju benar benar paling sortif tontonan yang sangat indah 💪
Great entrance and win for Tito ! Se creeian q ganaban corriendo😁 2 more rounds and we go home 🤣
117-112, Oscar De La Hoya
DLH: 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11
Tito: *4, 10, 12
Even: 2
Rounds 1 & 2 were close, but if I were to give the edge to anyone, it would be the Golden Boy.
He was just doing better than terrible.)
The very suspicious scorecard by Logist (worst one by far), the refusal by Roth to give Oscar his best round (Logist did the same), and the total CLINIC Oscar put on through nine rounds: robbery or not, the judges got it wrong.
My final score was 115-114 Felix.
upplsuckimcool16 show ur round by round like I did pls
Frank Lopez 8-2?! Wow
As a fighter for so long de la Hoya corner should've known judges don't put up w/ that nonsense judges loves the aggressor fighter especially when they're aclean and professional BOXER likeTrinidad
@@stevenpagan335 yeah. Like I said, he blew it
