      You know as well as me and Mayorga that he got hit with a good punch 🥊 and he knew then that he was done for good. So Ricardo decided to put a heck of an excuse about breaking his hand. Mayorga claimed that he broke his thumb. I saw moving the thumb with ease. This was a good entertaining fight but I thought the fight was more close that what the judges had it. I saw it 107-106 after 11 rounds Cotto.
      What a clown 🤡 Ricardo Mayorga turned out to be.

    Mayorga will never be a shot fighter. He had a long layoff from boxing. He will be in every fight until the end because he has a steel chin and he punches very hard. If Mayorga would have ever taken boxing seriously he would be world class because he had the chin, power and HEART to beat any fighter. I respect Mayorga and if I ever had a war to go to I would draft Mayorga because he will give it his all.

    Two gentlemen of the ring, Cotto aged 32 and Mayorga aged 38, fought for twelve rounds before the referee stopped the fight to save poor, cranky Mayorga's face from further damage. Cotto's left never missed Mayorga's face who completely out-boxed - and most of his wild flurries failed to land.

    showtime commentators are way better than hbo. Larry merchants voice puts me to sleep and hbo guys are so biased. showtime gives proper respects to both fighters.

      commentators talk a lot of garbage,,, what make them think Mazorca has a chance to knock Cotto out!! LMAO!😂,, there is no way, i reapeat, no way that was gonna happen!, if Mazorca didn't knocked out Tito, i didn't think he was gonna do it with Cotto,, commentator want so desperately Mazorca to knock Cotto out, that's they're boy, give him a kiss🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

      >You're actually trippin bruh. What are you even talking about? Seriously. Have you ever boxed before? Did you see how many of Mayorga's punches were actually blocked and hit shoulders and were slipped? You for real can't see how these commentators are ONLY giving Mayorga credit because he's throwing back, NOT because of clean punching? Watch some this shit back, Cotto BLOCKS and SLIPS sooo many punches and the commentators are acting like Mayorga's really doing damage

    it doesnt matter whether fighters throw punches from everywhere or doing stupid life risking thing in the ring because you know that boxing is at its best when see some one fighting for their lives without minding the outcome and just going for the kill. i gave these tough guys credit for their hearts and hardwork and mayorga for his craziness.

    He did very well in this fight and looking at this fight again with non bias eyes. I see Cotto still hasnt corrected many of his flaws and I regret he will be exposed come May 5th. Then again styles makes fights and Mayweather wont apply the Mayorga pressure let alone punch output. In the end I will always respect Mayorga and only if he took boxing serious, still the classic moment when he stuck his chin out in other fights and said "hit me" pure entertainment

    Miguel Cotto has one of the best jabs in boxing. Its quick, he springs with it and its stiff/powerful because its actually his led hand. The only others with a better jab and thins point are probably Gennady Golovkin and Andre Ward.

    • @ThaDreamMerchant
      @ThaDreamMerchant 10 лет назад +1

      Agreed. I'd throw Floyd & Canelo up there as well since they both also have very good jabs.
      It's the most criminally underrated punch in boxing nowadays.

    Under Emmanuel Steward, Cotto regained three things: his confidence, his jab, and his footwork. If he had fought Pacquiao intelligently, as he did here, instead of just planting himself in front of Manny and eating shots all night, he could have at least finished that fight.

    Mayorga wasnt a very technically sound boxer. Often times he didn't even apply the basic fundamentals of boxing. But something about watching him fight brought the chills out of people. He was an absolute savage. A warrior that held little to no regard for his own life when he stepped in the ring. The men that he beat he absolutely DESTROYED. And the men that beat Mayorga had to go all out to beat him. Cotto and Mosley both didn't knock him out till round 12 and both were far better boxers. Mayorgas only edge in a fight was that he would hit you with bad intentions. This was a very angry man with a twisted mature. All of his fights were exciting especially the ones he lost in lol. He sucked as a boxer. But he had the heart of a true warrior. Dude would fight a cop with a loaded gun, and i guarantee you before it went down he would convince himself that he can dodge bullets.

    Man I feel sorry for mayorga because mostly everyone in his country didn't like him because of the stuff he used to do like smoke before his fight party hard knowing those things kills your energy. He didn't listening to his teammate like he should of. Mayorga was a good fighter but he didn't take this sport seriously like he was supposed to knowing his people were looking up to him

    Miguel es uno de los pocos boxeadores del mundo que prestigian este deporte, por lo decente y humano que es. Mayorga un payaso que inventó una lesión que no se de cómo se la causó..., sabía que Cotto lo iba a noquear en el último raund y lo iba a hacer para taparle la boca de todo lo necio que fue antes del combate...

    Mayorga's balance is gone, that's what happens with age. He's a tough guy, no doubt, and I respect him. He knocked out a terrific fighter in Vernon Forrest, which is his signature win, and beat him again in the rematch and by those two performances, he will always be considered world class. But he's fighting for money now and I don't blame him one bit. He's always been entertaining and gives the fans a fight.
