Yet again, this tidbit supports Cloud’s love for Aerith as does AC and On the Way to a Smile. It has always been so obvious to me but there are those FF7 fans who like to argue otherwise. The algorithm of the game gives Aerith a 50 point advantage over any other character for the date scene at Gold Saucer with Cloud. That’s solid support in itself.
I’m a clerith fan but I’m coming to terms that cloud loves both of them, maybe in slightly different ways. Tifa as a friend/partner who he can depend on and trust; aerith as is his tragic love/his princess/etc who he can never forget. Different tropes but both valid nonetheless. Although I do think clerith is more of an OG canon when it came out. That doesn’t change.
@@sleepiexpanda100% this. Rebirth kinda hammered that Cloud is sexually more interested in Tifa... but more pure love affection is for Aerith. Which is even more tragic since they didn't even kiss. This also kinda sucks for Tifa. If she has a kiss, sex or whatever and Cloud doesn't get closer to her and keeps Aerith in such high regard... I'm a clerith but damnnn it sucks for Tifa. In og I had two feelings about Clouds love interests: -since I didn't have the high affection Tifa, she just seemed a good friend or sister vibe even -alternatively none of the romance mattered. Hard to say that since Clouds last words about meeting Aerith in the promised land. But we could look at the game as Aerith just flirting, Tifa being a sis and Cloud being Cloud around girls. Though re-trilogy Cloud is more active and shows jealousy to both of them.
Squall catching the white feather representing Rinoa and Cloud standing in a field of Aerith's yellow flowers right after. SE couldn't have made it any more obvious.
I like how Cloud’s crystal is shaped like the Ultima Materia. Although it sucks how his story arc here is wrapped up much earlier than the other characters. He could’ve fought some other villains like Kuja or Golbez before Sephiroth
