You two are to much. I just enjoy the mill work and hearing what is going on. I have a friend that has a mil and I have helped a few times. Lots of fun.
Oh my Em! Congratulations🎉 Somehow, I am just so sure that this lucky young man is of the highest caliber. I thought I noticed a little slkip in you step of late😊
We had them really bad in my home area of Virginia back in the 1970s. They took out tons of trees. We got some nice lumber and about 15 years off firewood. I hate those critters with a passion. There were for several big bald patches on the mountain for about a decade.
We had the gypsy moths here in way upstate NY. Two summers, 21 and 22. I thought my oaks were going to be done. It looked like the middle of winter in July, not a leaf on a tree. LOL, unfortunately the sound you thought of them munching away is actually their poop falling. Sounds like light rain. One co worker working in his oak lot thought the same until I explained. He said, so that sound is them sh..ting on me? I said yup. 23 and 24, my trees have recovered.
They came through Pike County in 1972 for the first time. Two years in a row. Trees recovered just fine... Were back again last year but not so bad. Neighbor sprayed his mega land and over spray helped us this year.
That was the best product placement I have ever seen when you're giving your monologue. A ghost opened the wood-mizer door right behind you charge them more for that
The Gypsy /Spongy moth actually originates from Europe. A scientist imported some ,from England I believe, and was trying to breed them with silk works in Medford Massachusetts in 1879 ....they escaped.
When I was growing up in Wilmington Massachusetts gypsie moths caterpillar nests were everywhere. We used to cut them off the trees and burn them. I don't see them around anymore. I mean they were everywhere.
Reminds me about how starlings were introduced to USA back around the 1800's when some who were fans of Shakespear, started importing and releasing them.
@36terraplane57 Pretty sure she’s talking about the Spotted Lanternfly which apparently hitched a ride on a shipment of stone from China or Vietnam about 10 years ago where they are native. Not a moth, but a devastating insect nonetheless, ready willing and able to do serious damage to forests and vineyards alike. Boo
Pole barn on Out of the Woods is perfect for your needs. Cheap cover from elements. Customers might like a dry area to look over the wood. And wood stays dry.
Hi Emerald and Jade thanks for another great video. Also Emerald you seem exceptionally happy, did something special happen that you are just dying to tell us about p.s. I saw the photos on Insta. Congratulations 🙂🌻🌻🧡
You girls are doing a great job, are smart, pretty, and making your parents proud. Keep up the good, hard work. Keep reminding people that cutting trees isn’t a climate problem but helps our eco system. Keep it up.
Watching from Canada, Calgary City, your great girl proud of you , you show to the world girls , how you can do as men jobs, keep going show more video , may god bless you sweety.
@@caseykelso1 I did not repeat what you said but maybe there is no real difference to you. There is no railroad contract; it don't work that way. There has been a need to upgrade to a faster mill, regardless of what is being milled, The extra speed is handy now that they are racing to cut the dead Red Oaks. One of the things they make with the Red Oaks is railroad ties.

A question from the EU: The railway sleepers are intended for decorative purposes or for fences, they are no longer really used as sleepers for rails, are they? Greetings! 🇪🇺👋
USA rail is way different from the EU. The Railroads here use about 23 million wood sleepers a year! (Railroad Ties to us) These sleepers, made by LCLY, will be sold to Koppers who creosotes them and then sells them to the Railroads. A injected creosoted sleeper can last 30-40 years according to Google.
If there was a way to give more than one thumbs up I definitely would you two are awesome together. Please continue making content its a pleasure and brings laughter to my life.Congratulations Emerald. God bless you .
Wow, you girls are like national heroes. Or heroines. Imagine having the instinctive desires and abilities to save lumber from going up in smoke. As a railroad employee I salute you. 👍👍👍
that is helium not laughing gas. Laughing gas is Nitrous Oxide and would be a bit more dangerous to play with. However I do think that this is a fun video!
A debarker would be nice. The lumber yard ( Hoge Lumber, New Knoxville Ohio) I worked at had one for its saw mill. At its heyday they had 2 shifts and provide all their own electric and supplied the grid with the excess. They had kilns and produced KD rough sawn lumber and produce bowling alley lanes and a variety of broom heads and brush handles. Plus a custom cabinet shop and a truss shop. Now all that remains in operation is the cabinet shop. They failed to re-invest in the company and search for new markets.
Well if the lumber identifies as railroad ties and not firewood, I guess that is how it goes. It makes sense since when you get down to it, I would rather be run over by a 20 ton locomotive, than be slowly burned to ash! 😳🤔😋🌳
The "munching" you are hearing is actually secondary insects, they are eating the actual wood in the trees. Gypsy moths are defoliators, they eat the leaves of their"victims" and if enough moths defoliate the trees in successive years the trees can not produce enough food to continue to survive😢
Great to see young ladies (& lil bro) continuing the family business and not afraid of hard work. God bless.

Nice to Jade getting some camera time!
Was the thought process something like... we got this big railroad tie contract , let's upgrade to the lt70 so we can get the job done faster ???🎉
