We really enjoyed this visit to Luning! It was a lot of fun. That graffiti was something else. It was so well done. Loving these visits to the small towns. Thank you!

I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Small towns are special places. Unfortunately they're disappearing at a rapid rate. I'd like to visit as many as possible. Thank you for watching.

That mill looking building you walked through was where they processed magnesium from Gabbs and loaded it onto train cars. That church was originally the school house. That building across the street from the Rest Area, with the fading red paint, was a saloon. It closed about 30 years ago.

Facinating town! Population: 80. It's nice they have a post office open 10am-12pm 5 days a week except Sat, it's 8am-12pm. I would love to see that town grow. So many homes which could just be remodeled. That church could be a school too. Lot's of potential. Wonderful video, thank you dear sir for sharing your adventures with us

Hello very interesting town I did some research the town of Luning Nev before 1891 was called Deep wells then the new name came after the railroad came .The building that looked like a church was a school. And the big building with the tubes looks like a fertilizer plant but turns out it was a transfer station for magnesium trucks would bring to transfer station to load on rail cars .At the edge of the big building with the tubes what looked like a pump is a capstone type winch like on a boat you would use a rope to move the rail cars .The old name Deep wells i have heard before as a mining town maybe heard the name on DEATH VALLEY DAYS ?Any way love your walk arounds like you say never know what one will find or learn ⛏️🇺🇸🤔 thank again for the tag along

The building with the pipes and bins looks like a small grain storage place. Either way,,in the basement would be a sorter to select which bin the material would be placed. The paper rolls, I guess, would be used for lining box car doors before material placed in them. Nice explore, busy road.

That church with the swing set looked like it was maybe a schoolhouse, I could be wrong lol, but my family is from small town South Dakota so I’ve seen some of the old abandoned schoolhouses and that’s what it looked like to me! Awesome explore as always 😀

In 1983 my family lived in Luning and I rode a bus to Hawthorne to go to school. Luning is without a doubt the biggest shithole I've ever lived.

I was a driver as well going up and down that road at least two or three times a week. Did you ever stop in Mina? and explored the old train depot they had there?
