    If your ego doesn't stand in your way then this bakkie is the best value for money. What's more the spares are cheap compared to ford and toyota and you can make it work hard without worrying too much about depreciation.
    My teenagers refuse to get into it though. They reckon it is an old oom's bakkie which is exactly what I am!!

      As a younger man (27) I love older styles of bakkies, I love the look of the Mahindra Bolero the old block/square style is for me
      only thing that concerns me about Mahindra is getting parts, takes ages to get the parts

      @@nicolaasgrobler6063 really?? Do you buy directly from mahindra? At my local spares shop they carry basically anything and if not you order and get it the next day. I suppose it depends where you live...???

      I actually don't mind the looks.
      My critique (at least for the base mhawk single cab) is the seats. Compared to similar hilux or rangers they do kill your back on longer trips. If you're planning on doing cross country your back will thank you for choosing a used Toyota or Ford instead.
      The wind noise is also worse, but I mostly drive a 70's Datsun, so I can live with it

      Firstly it doesn't compare to your moster sized trucks like the ram1500, f150's or chevy's
      The closest it gets is to be compared to the toyota tacomo or the ford ranger.
      In relative terms it is about $22k US bearing in mind the ZAR is 15 to 1 USD and even after the conversion South African cars cost 20 to 40% more than the same US cars. For example toyota corolla.
      Your country would not import it due to it's emmisions restrictions. Also these pick-ups have mostly manual gearboxes which americans don't like. They are doing autos though but your mid sized pick-up market is just too competitive for mahindra to be a player. If mahindra had to comply to your emmisions restrictions this pick-up would need a more powerful petrol engine. The ones in south africa is all diesel

    • @liamwest5123
      @liamwest5123 2 года назад

      This would not compete in the US.
      It's too small and way down on power compared to your machines. Not to mention the manual gearbox

    Honestly this makes sense reading the review. In hindsight it’s a paid advertisement. I have emailed Car magazine no reply. No dealers the gps doesn’t work it noisy dust pours in. Anyone promoting it is being paid. Trust me the worst absolutely worst vehicle ever. Tried to trade in at Ford 2000 km then 5000 km cost R380k would not even give me 200k on a brand new Toyota or Ford. Stay away. The wheel alignment cost R2000.00 took 5 hours. This guy talks crap. I cannot even go into 4x4 the service light is on prior to service date. I guarantee this guy got a financial incentive to minimize the problem with the noises and problems. This is not a vehicle for 4x4 they sold me 17 inch rims/tires when in the manual it states the vehicle can only take Mahindra 16 inch tyres. Ask any 4x4 specialist they will explain the basics are at least 10 years old thus the problems with even a basic wheel alignment. I believe the safety standards may have been compromised in order to get Mahindra to come to SA and create a few jobs. SABS shocking.

      @best of telegram Well, I own a Mahindra Scorpio, and it has taken me all over the dangerous Himalayan mountains. So, according to my experience, it's a tough car. But then again, I don't know if South African versions are different, or if the pikup version is different in terms of quality.

      The reason is mahindra's mistake and also a bit of lazyness. They shouldve made the pickup first then the suv and when you do the other way, it goes like this. But still it looks great in my eyes, the bed looks a bit bad I agree.
