Lmaoooo resell culture is not dying the retail is slowly and steadily become to resell value. Look at those wack foams they just dropped 300$!??? And those new black toe 1s for 300$??Shoe should be at LEAST half that. These corporations really got yall saying anything lol
Yep. I'm still buying and the excitement is still there. Latest pair i got, the WuTangs. Funny part is that nike messed up and sent me a second pair. Paid for 1.
@@Bigdookie-z9wresale isn’t quite dying but it’s drying up for sure. Ppl will always love quality fashionable sneakers, whether vintage or late models. But the days of thousands of ppl standing outside for hours, waiting for “exclusive” sneaker releases that if the store sold out ppl would have to overpay as much as twice the original retail price from private sellers tryna resell them, those days are over. Stores will sell some foams for $300 sure but thankfully most ppl aren’t hyped enough to pay that amount anymore, which cuts out many private sellers tryna use hype to jack up the price that’s already expensive to resell them. Personally I’m glad resell era is drying up.
I’m not gonna lie! I’m so glad that this happened. I’m 52 yrs old and I was there when the RUN DMC adidas first dropped the day when the Air Jordan 1, and Sky Jordan 1 first dropped. I think its cool if people are hustling shoes rather than that Mr. Sniffles. Although now that the market has crashed I believe now kids, and OG’s like myself can go back to the love of the shoes! Thanks for the video. Keep dropping that dope content… 😉👍🏾
Speaking of RUN DMC Adidas should re- issue those track suits we saw in this vid!!!... i would definitely buy a sweater... and 90s Starter jackets should make a come back, idk wtf these companies are waiting for, its EASY MONEY!!!
I definitely agree, as a matter of fact I have been saying that for years! If there stocks are low all they got do is drop them suits and jacket. Umma buy them all.
@@noblea487 a couple of months ago i found a RUN DMC bucket hat at my local Walmart for 6$ CND, thats 3$ USD... its a bold look but i dont care i still wear it sometimes
Great video dude! One thing I’d add from a European perspective is that adidas/diadora were one who really started the sneaker culture. During the late 70’s and early 80’s the casual football culture (hooligan culture) became obsessed with the flat soled adidas and diadora models like the Handball spezial, All team and Borg. These rare terrace models were extremely coveted as you could only get the in Europe on away days. This was then shot into the stratosphere with the release of the city series. Models like the Milano, the Dublin the Amsterdam the Liverpool. Goosebumps. It’s because of this that I will be three stripes for life, got my very fist pair of sambas (mundial version, the one for actually playing football) at 5 and never looked back. My dad was a massive adidas guy back in the 70’s, 80’, 90’s. The first picture of me and him is him in a full Beckenbauer Tracksuit, Berlin rain mac (that’s the classic navy blue with light blue stripes) and a pair of Berlins. There’s also a really good argument for the Japanese starting the current culture of collabs and hype. They were doing that back in the 80’s when American brands were still quite far behind.
Loved the video. And i love being a sneakse head in these days in times. I will add one thing comfortability jordans and most nike shoes you cant wear the whole day. Hokka, Asics, On Cloud are taking up larger portions of the market.
The slowly decline of all this Resell Culture is such a blessing….me as a 43 year old sneakerhead loves the way the culture is heading to…. Thx for the content and much love from Germany 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Just another cycle. I am glad this era of the subculture is coming to an end. Gone are the days of 13yrd old kids treating shoes as stock investments and buying shoes based on base return.
Nice video, with an interesting perspective on the commercial evolution of what are, ultimately, widely available sneakers, or trainers if you're in the UK. Greed and profiteering are issues across many industries, whether that's corporates tightly controlling the relaease of cheaply made shoes to artificially inflate retail prices, or re-sellers overcharging based on hype alone. I agree with the conclusion, art always emerges from the most unlikely of places. Thanks for making and sharing your thoughts @Take Flight 214.
Most of those resellers are a bunch of clowns that truly don’t have any passion for the sneaker culture just tryna get over on ppl that do love sneaker culture. I love sneaker culture but Fk those resellers I’m glad they’re hustle of jacking up shoe prices has dried up.
People who coat tail ride any subculture will eventually go away and move onto something else to hype about. Sneaker culture existed for years and Hype beast is what ruined it.

The hypebeasts that don’t know anything about sneakers are the ones that really killed it for me. Resellers have always been a thing in any collectible hobby, they suck but they’re trying to make money at the end of the day so I can’t really hate on the hustle. Hypebeasts on the other hand are clout chasing losers who pretend to have knowledge and experience they don’t have. Pick basically any medium to large RUclipsr that’s started a sneaker channel and you’ll find them saying some crazy stuff. They also always skip over releases that are widely coveted in the community due to them not having the prerequisite knowledge. Case in point Elliot Page just dropped a video where he loses his mind over basic cement 4’s while scrolling through a website and talking through the biggest releases of next year yet he doesn’t acknowledge the existence of the Black out 11’s which have been talked about now for over a decade. It’s just embarrassing and devalues the entire hobby, it’s just like when a sports pundit who doesn’t know or play the sport they’re broadcasting starts telling the viewers who do know the sport what the rules are.
I came from a time where it was all about “what are those???” Rare meant IFYKYK. Then when “hype” came about, basically the ones “you know” became hype. To this day, I prefer more obscure, “what are those?” type sneaks. Resellers feed the sheep that only know what they know. Real sneakerheads, and I’ll include the fashionistas, know REALLY wussup. Fashion-wise, the average hypebeast and sneakerhead are fashionably one-dimensional. You can rock your ‘holy grail’ and dress like a bum with it. So what’s the point? Either way, they’re gonna keep it in the box anyway. I love all footwear, sneaks, hard bottoms, boots. But I think GenZ is catchin on and gettin over that. I feel Travis Scott’s line will be the last of the hype. Jordans and SB dunks and the like will hold their value over the years. But I don’t believe anything coming out after will hold any of the same value. And we can get back to uniqueness and being different.

I think Nike stole the Jordan 1 design from the 1978 Hi-Tec Sierra Lite. Correct me if that design already existed before Hi-Tec Sierra Lite. Resellers killed sneaker culture
Yeah it got pretty crazy at one point. The bubble had to burst at some point

For me the only thing I really blame resellers for. Showing Nike they can charge us 250 for 4's and 350 for 14's
