Tina wrote most of their songs in the 1970s but Ike was the mastermind. He was writing and producing other artists as well. Tina was the show, but Ike put it all together.

NICK Lovell I’m sure here she’s probably saying he was very put together. Ike cared a lot about being presentable in addition to practicing and performing well. I don’t think she meant that he looked like a model as in being good looking. lol.

Ike wrote, produced and arranged most of their music. He was also the bandleader. BB King said Ike was the best bandleader that he ever saw. Ike was an established musician before he discovered Tina. He was a talent scout for Sun Records and he wrote the first rock n roll song "Rocket 88". He used to play piano on BB Kings early records. He then taught himself how to play guitar. Tina wrote most of their songs in the 1970s but Ike was the mastermind. He was writing and producing other artists as well. Tina was the show, but Ike put it all together.
