I'm selling my EVH Iconic. I do a playthrough& full mix with the EVH Iconic before I let it go.
The Iconic is the perfect first tube amp for a teenager who has put in the work for a couple years
Well said!
I still think it's one of the nicest amps I've ever played, and I usually keep all the knobs at noon and just plug straight in, no funny business no massive board just a good amp and guitar and it works well with how I play.
I mean it still sounds sick af, has an awesome punch and tone. In your case you have more than han enough, so it's kind of like selling the Mustang because you have three lambos and a Ferrari.
Think I'm gonna pick up a 50 watt stealth this weekend. This channel has been very helpful. The Iconic really sounds like more of a "Rock" Amp, than metal, and I kinda dig that, but I can't get over how the stealth sounds :)
The stealth is a awesome choice! I actually looked at one and found the LBXIII was similar, two different beasts but both crazy good for what they do. 🤘🏻
I know it’s not a 6505 or EVH III, but when I was a kid I would have loved to have an amp like that. I never understood the hate towards this amp.
Noooooo… but seriously, gear comes and goes. Eager to see what comes next!
Looking over the different amp heads you have there I would agree with this Choice🤘
I wasn't crazy about the amp when I played it. But totally understand how some guys could like it. Everyone is different!
Glad you found a home for it, brother.
Love the ODD box!
Now I need a darn Mud Killer.
Kind of reminds of the cheap looking feel you got from the B-52 AT-100 amp series. Budget cheap looking but surprisingly good sounding for the money.
I got one thing out of this...........There's no reason to sell it!!!!!! Unless you have some particulars in your ear. Seriously, it's all preference. Don't let someone else's opinion, make you sell it! This is a great vid though, don't get me wrong. I've had this amp, and upgraded yes......but it is a great amp period. I think people forget budgets and what not. I've dialed this thing in a mix and it slays!!!!! We shouldn't be making vids on why we sell when some people can just do the minimum. Crank your shit that you love, and dial it in baby!!!!
A+ in that price tier! You get that baby dialed in to perfection.
If there aren’t any obstacles the other amps just do so much more. I imagine it’s more satisfying to trigger boost Karens with a $3k amp too 😉
Haha, thank you. I love triggering boost Karens
There’s a whole lot to love about this amp and no shame at all in owning one. Zero. None. But it’s harder to justify it in a stable of other stalwarts.
Hope you don’t regret selling it, Jarrod. Sounds excellent, but I am on the other end listening through an iPhone. Maybe the difference between this guy and the all tube are much different in your basement studio?
Idk if you've played an og block letter, I wonder how it compares to the stealth
I did a comparison with those two amplifiers a few years back. I prefer the stealth because it's more aggressive and the gain structure is better in my opinion
On the other hand. The OG Peavey 5150 is the amp you keep.
I always felt that it was good to have the Iconic on the channel because 1) you could use it to compare to other budget amps and 2) to demonstrate how well it sounds up against higher end amps (which it does quit well). Oh well...end of an era. Good-bye little Iconic. 😪lol
Thanks for commenting. I thought the same thing. I did do quite a few comparisons and shootouts with it, along with some dial-ins. It's definitely served its purpose, and it's time to move on. Maybe someday I'll revisit this amplifier
I feel this with my guitars and amps. I have to know they're going to someone who isn't a total chucklef*ck.
Have you sold off your Badlander?
Thanks for asking. No way! After I put the Mr scary mod in it, it's a total keeper
What the hell are you gonna play now? lol jk
Blurring, it really didn't work. lol I knew immediately what it was.
Haha yeah the blurred Pic wasn't blurry enough. Oh well. I'll get ya next time😂
