Thanks a lot! I was about to buy thermostat and one of the machenic even told me it's a Top gasket but since I bought both water bottle and cap no more leakage 👏👏
Hey actually I topped up my coolant before driving for 15 mins and forgot to close the coolant cap. Ran A/c for the whole 15 min drive and I was driving under 40 kmph. When I checked back the other day I saw my coolant was gone so I topped it again. Am I safe? How to check for any air stuck in the coolant tanks?
For taking out any air bubble you will have to squeeze the lower radiator hose while the cap not fully tighten. If your coolant level keeps dropping don't ignore it there's a leak somewhere.
@@sidewaysfijian when I topped it again as I said I observed that there was no coolant leaking to the ground and its maintaining the coolant level. Am I safe?
Let me know how it goes. I had minor leak towards right of the engine, just above the auto transmission there's another coolant flange adapter which has seals that worn out attached to the engine block.
Bro my car is doing exactly what is happening in the video but i changed the water tank and the cap and changed the thermostat and fixed the radiator, and still doing this. And the car is not overheating. And this problem shows only at long drives. What may be the problem?
Was the Cap and water tank genuine Volkswagen? If it is, best get a mechanic to do a pressure test. Another thing is, make sure you have taken the air pockets out or purge it. You will find video online on how it. Mainly by leaving the water tank cap open and pressing along the coolant pipes
@alidaher4356 yeah I also used cap and water tank for a regular auto store but when I changed it with a genuine part it stopped. As I mentioned on the video, only works with the genuine part (cap and water tank)
Bro I got oil mixed in the coolant so that I changed oil cooler after that they advised me to change thermostat and changed it too. Now the water is boiling but no oil mix should I change the tank or check something else?
Yeah I reckon check with the simple cheaper stuff. If you can first get the top blue cap 1st and make sure its genuine VW. After that's done, since you already replaced thermostat do check if the lower radiator hose has water flowing well to cool that water via radiator
Hi i have 2018 VW Tiguan the car drops water levels but no leaks as we did pressure test, the right hand side water pipes are not having the same temperature as the left side water pipes. The car still drives well and the temperature gauge never goes beyond the 90 mark and oil presence in the coolant bottle.
Sounds exactly as what i had, once i replaced the water tank cap (original VW) that water level stayed same. What about checking for residues around the water tank. I had to leave a few wraps of white cloth to pick up any coolant residue. Esp around the water tank. Along with cutting small strips of white cloth to tie on the connections.
My radiator burst and is leaking . Could a bad cap have caused this to ruin the radiator? My coolant boils with the cap off that’s the only confusing part
Sorry to hear that, sounds like a trouble you dont want. To be honest it could have been due to any reason. Probably when installing a new radiator do real proper coolant flush with distilled water. And then diagnose from there.
@@sidewaysfijian I’m actually in the process of flushing the system . I did a block test it stayed blue after I flushed everything a few times. I’ve noticed my heater core hose is bent , do you think that would cause the heat to back pressure
Hey, did you buy the original VW Cap. I didn't work for me when I bought a similar fitment from an auto parts store. It would have to be an original VW part Cap
Hey, bubbles would normally indicate air trappedin cooling system, its important to release help release it. You can google search more about purging/burping bubble out of your cooling system. Tonnes of content on how to, important only begin process when coolant is cool.
I recently bought this car as a project car. The cars runs but that timing chain noise is disturbing. Im planning on replacing it, but now every video I find on yt about this AXW engine has exactly the same noise. Im starting to think its normal, whether your replace the tensioner or not. What do you suggest? Since you have experience with this?
Hmmm ive treated my sustem atm due to fkush it all was lookimg good bothom hose now getting warm but today (foush tom and do another ciean ) coplant over engine . Im unsure if its the rad or exp tank ..it all was ok for few dats unless the shit in system is occasionally causing issues . Ill flush tom........the mog has jumoed from 39 around town to 51 mpg hop9ng hg is still ok
Hey mate, I used drive my car for 15-20mins after temp goes up to normal. Later park the car back home and lift up bonnet to see where coolant is exploding from. I'm sure from the expansion tank hoses
@sidewaysfijian ooh OK well tomorrow I'll pick up some treatment solution again I got water today 4 x 2.5l .......I'll fkush it out ..I've got a new radiator on route anyway if I need it as I was sire a lottke while ago I had coolant on top of rat maybe it's over pressured amd gone bad (,leaking ) . The exp tank is new oe . Really hoping to remedy the issue and all else is ok . Fingers crossed ..I'll do a bit of testing Tom.once I done so amd look for fans kicking in again..they do function obvs more so if ac is on and I'm.sure I've heard them.recently. new sensor in car btw ty ill let you know

@intrudxxx sounds like you had it easy 👍, you should be safe. I would regularly check the coolant for a week atleast just to be safe.
