      The US Open was on clay between 1975-77 but Borg failed to win any of them, in fact, he only won 1 FO during that period ...
      Contrast that with Nadal's almost 100% dominance in all clay tournaments and majors around that same age ... Nadal was in fact already compiling the longest winning streaks in history on clay.

Some body in future may break this record ( as now health standards are fast improving and a player can play upto around 38-38 years of age until retirement. Also Novak 's all records wiil also be broken in the future ( for example, Alcaraz has a bright chance to do this if he stays healthy as has already won 4 slams at 21 years of age and if he plays like this he can beat many records by 8-9 years) whereas nobody in the future will play tennis like Federer . Nadal is playing well, looks like his level in that match could beat Alcaraz and Djokovic, so I'm happy for him. I don't regret comments of rebuke over the years for his notorious and unsightly butt-picking before serving but he seems like a nice enough guy and his game is looking prime time, I'm all for it. Let's hope Leo Borg is someone we can watch coming up, I find him interesting to watch and he doesn't do anything to make you want to root against him, like pick his butt (Nadal) or bully people (Kyrgios).
    Despite all the butt-picking he still does some butt- kicking and you have to admit Nadal looks poised for a gold medal at the Olympics.

    A mi me da igual ya que gane o no, es lo que me hace sentir verle ahí dentro golpeando la bola, siendo Rafa. Es muy raro porque siempre me enfadaba cuando no ganaba, pero ahora ya solo verle jugar me hace feliz.

    6-1, 6-0

    I would love to see Nadal go back in time and face Bjorn in the French Open. Nadal would also be using a wooden racket, no modern tech. That would be quite a match.

    • @karmicselling4252
      @karmicselling4252 6 месяцев назад +2

      Bjorn would smash Rafa if they were both using small hooped racquets with natural gut strings. Rafa's weapons are a function of using a large hooped racquet with very stiff poly strings. He would not be able to generate the same level of topspin using the racquets / strings of the 1970s.

    • @nordattack
      @nordattack 6 месяцев назад +2

      @@karmicselling4252 Agreed. And that is simply what people do not understand about the modern tech enhanced game.
