  • S1F having a little more speed is definitely way more appealing to me. What do you care about the most when you choose a scooter?

    I will review and share things I know or learn about electric scooters in this channel. I live in Vancouver. I just fell in love with electric scooters and I would love to try as many of them and make contents out of them.

      Range, Quality (Durability), Top speed, and great and useful feature like the turn signals.

      Range, reliability and comfort. Speed...not as much.

      Everything. Range, speed, price, tires, brand (quality), ratings, drive wheel, brakes, ground clearance, etc.

      Range, chances of flats/breakdowns, must be waterproof as I live in a very rainy city and last for me is suspension and speed.

    Does anyone know the mechanical difference between the s1 and s1f? And can I upgrade my s1 to s1f?

    I have read online about the overheating issues with the L9 and S1. Did you get the error code for overheating on the escooter during your time using it?

    How much did you ride the S1? Did you get overheating issue?

    Do you feel the rear motor makes the hill climbing more stable, as I found the front wheel drive motor easy to slippery for the front wheel when accelarte or climb a hill.

    • @electrifyingrider
      @electrifyingrider  2 года назад

      I personally prefer front wheel but I didn't climb much hills when I was riding a single motor scooter. :)

      Thought you said you prefer rear wheel motor at 2:45 lol
      But yeah I prefer rear wheel motor since it's better for hill climbing and better for slippery surfaces. And better handling just like in cars.

    I am curious - the motor at the rear is nice and gives a greater speed response, but what about braking? Especially when the L9 has the motor at the front, that means that the rear brake makes it very hard for the rider to be pitched over the handlebars. Thus, the L9 would be considered safer than the S1F, no?

    • @electrifyingrider
      @electrifyingrider  2 года назад

      When it comes to safety, I really can't tell much difference. And since L9 can't go as fast as S1F, I find it much safer.

    • @joshuamcpherson007
      @joshuamcpherson007 2 года назад

      I hadn't thought the difference in the brake placement...but I think you might be right. I have never been thrown forward while braking with my L9...even under emergency braking. Not sure what might have happened if the brake was in front, like in the S1F.

    • @carbrickscity
      @carbrickscity 2 года назад

      Not sure if it would make a difference. But it would also depends if the wheels are locked or not. Some scooters have anti lock brakes which is safer. But rear mechanical brakes could potentially make the rear slide as well. So not sure which one is safer. But other than brakes, rear wheel drive is better imo, same as he said in the video himself.

    Where did you come up with 40kmh??

    • @lensref
      @lensref 2 года назад +1

      S1F = 40km/h (lower torque, higher top speed)
      S1 = 30km/h (higher torque; lower top speed but better hill climb)

  • @overbettor13
    @overbettor13 2 года назад +1

    The specs everywhere I look say the same 30kmh as the L9

    • @lensref
      @lensref 2 года назад +2

      It's a bit confusing because there are two models of both.
      S1 = 30km/h (higher torque so better hill climb but lower top speed)
      S1F = 40km/h (lower torque; worse hill climb but higher top speed)
      L9 = 30km/h (higher torque)
      L9 high speed = 40km/h (lower torque) (I've only seen this available at ewheels so far)
      As far as I can tell the S1 series have the motor in the rear and drum brakes in the front
      the L9 series has the motor in the front and disc brakes in the rear
      other than that I think they are basically the same, but the manufacturer makes it really difficult to get definitive comparison info

      @@lensref Thanks for that. I need better hill climbing and speed limit is limited in Europe so will go for either L9 or S1.

  • @OladipupoAdaraloye

    it almost seems that the InMotion S1F is better just because the top speed.

    • @electrifyingrider
      @electrifyingrider  2 года назад

      That is true for me. Why do you want to limit your speed if you can get a little more? Again, just my thought. I am fully aware of safety issues. Thanks for watching!

      This scooter does not go 40kmh? It specs say the same 30kmh as the L9. I have no clue where this dude came up with this..
