I also have this variety in my collection. Since in general Epipremnum Pinnatum is endemic in the Philippines, no doubt that mutation is really possible and that’s why you cannot see these varieties outside the country as of the moment. I hope people locally will be able to prioritised or highlight these beautiful endemic plants that we have. There’s is also a “variegated” Cebu Blue in the local plant market nowadays which these varieties is not known yet in the global plant community.
I will soon post my EP collection and also my Cebu Blue collection. hope to post next weekend. Around 1st week of December. This post is so inspiring that I just purchased a matured EP mint. What I have right now are just juvenile plants
thanks to your post. It’s my first time to see this plant here in your post. after watching your post I looked for an EP mint and now I have this beautiful plant. I posted my plants in my Channel
I was waiting for cebu blue! 😆 I haven't seen much of it from other vlogs as well, being mature and well fenestrated. I hope you'll have one in your collection soon. Thanks for a really informative video by the way

Lahat naman po ng variegated plants are either mutated or genetically engineered. So if that epi. pinnatum had mutated into something like mint variegated, it's still a mint. I saw a post in instagram about a mutated dark majesty with huge splashes of pink variegations. There's no such thing as variegated dark majesty or pink majesty yet in the market, but I'm pretty sure that mutated dark majesty could still be considered a variegated majesty because it has mutated.
agree, sellers just make things up and hype them in Facebook to excite the community, drive prices high when in fact, it is a plant that just mutated due to amount of light, fertilizer and other factors like soil acidity etc
hey there Neil its my first time here and im enjoying it. i have a question for you. a neighbor gave me a regular dragon tail cutting its been uprooted trampled and abused by kids. to make it short it survived. had one in soil and one in water. how soon/ long will fenestrations form in your experience? thank you
Don't get your point on "properly Id'ed". I'm a horticultural taxonomist and if something is not in the literature and is distinct and stable, we assign a new name. Now it's proper and valid. What is wrong with your 'Mint' that is doesn't somehow exist? This is a common type of genetic mutation called "virescence" (becoming green) that occurs in many genera, most notably Monstera where the Aroid Society has registered a number of mint type clones. Virescent Japanese maples are also very common in seedbeds. And what is a "regularly mutated pinnatum" as opposed to 'Mint'?
Understand now. The IAS has registered on their website cultivars called Monstera deliciosa 'Monstera Mint' and 'Brasil Form Variegated', both of which violate the ICNCP. Not sure they're credible at this point. Besides the ICRA cultivar registration organization is not a legally or scientifically binding entity and is a purely voluntary process. Their authority is self-proclaimed and in many cases local patent courts do not even recognize their name choices. The RHS, Plantscope, and Open Registration Of Cultivars are alternative registration processes staffed by experts who know the codes and the plants. I work with OROC and our forthcoming book has 73 described Epipremnum cultivars exclusive of Scindapsus.
I have one of these and bought it as a “Mint” the leaf mid cut was really nice but it pushed out two pure green leafs but then randomly the “Mint” coloring came back. Def not mad since it’s a beautiful plant. Should I refer to it as a “Mint” or should I say sport variegated epi? Thanks for this video!
