We have the same taste in plants 😅. So far, every plant that I got or plan on getting, you have a video on it 👍🏽👍🏽. And, AND, all your plants are beautiful!!! I'm in Tempe Arizona, SW desert area of the US, and I'm determined to get my plants as beautiful as yours, in my arid environment 🤣.
The outdoor growing season is winding down around here so now my interest shifts back to indoor houseplants. Thanks Sean, and I’m glad that you didn’t fall off the chair.🌺💚🙃
Thank youu. i have this feeling too but some aroids growth buds are a little bit above that and can veer to the left or to the right. I guess it depends on the species 😅
Thank you for this video! I wondered if buying "mature" cuttings makes any sense as most plants just revert to juvenile stage after cutting. But I can see that if the leaf is big enough it will actually produce fenestration on the new plant! I know we could've expected that, but it's great to see the proof!
For me, i rather get small plants and stake em up and get big. I enjoy the process more than the results 😀 also I spend way less money this way. But everyone have different preferences
@@onlyplants I generally enjoy getting plants as small as possible too :) But for some climbing aroids it seems it's impossible for me to mature the leaves. I've had my lechleriana for a year now and the leaves have barely gotten any bigger. I know it's me not the plant, but this particular process is getting way too frustrating and I just want a mature monstera leaf at this point :) Or my Rhaphidophora beccari... it just grows the long vines and each leaf is an inch long, no sign of any improvement... Some plants are just hard, man...
it can grow taller if there is a place to cling to. like near my backyard, it grows wild as tall as the gaharu tree that is old in my ancestors' time.Because he climbed the tree. Its leaves are bigger than an elephant's ear. Thanks Shawn for showing me how to trim it..
Can You explain what is difference between Cebu Blue, Baltic blue, Albo or variegated Cebu blue… and maybe there’s something else? How do you call them in Indonesia?
There are a few mutations of cebu blue… with different fenestrations and color tones. I believe they are either found in different regions, or have unusual mutations/forms… Now the variegated ones just have variegation on them… there seem to have different names for different variegation mutations as well. Unfortunately its not something I deep dive into… the one I grow happens to be the one I got my hands on easiest lol.
@@onlyplants it's interesting you say that there are a few mutations of cebu blue because I'm noticing that people's cebu blues tend to look different from each other, and not just with the color changing because of light levels. I've seen some that longer to fenestrate, have less flexible leaves and are more whitish-silver than silver-blue, yet nobody else seems to have picked up on this.
Cebu Blue is abundant in the forest near in my house here in the Philippines.... They love climbing a coconut tree....
The coconut tree is the perfect moss pole hehe
That subtext about your landlord is oh so so soooo relatable 😂all my plants are climbers and I'm living in a one room studio apartment xD
🙈
Holy moly this is crazy! It’s HUGE!!! I just got my first cebu blue last week. I’ve got a looooooong way to go.
They are actually one of the fastest growing aroids. Make sure its got something to climb on to.

cebu blue goals
Hello Shawn! Sleeping bud is always under the sheath inside the axil of the leaf and the stem, there's is always one if it isn't damaged.

Time to add one to a pole...wowsers those are massive

What is the black powder for your plant?sir please❤🙏😀🌲
Activated charcoal powder. Its food grade some people use it for baking I guess
So funny how you are worried you are hurting plant. I always worry about their pain level also
Of course they can sense pain hehe. They have defense mechanisms that we have not fully understood yet.
What is it that you are rubbing on the cut ends?
Food grade activated charcoal 😀 its safe on our skin and its highly antimicrobial
