  • The Top 40 QB Countdown is in full gear as Chris (@CSimmmsQB) reveals QBs 35-31, and Ahmed (@ahmedNBC) asks some of your questions about QBs 40-36. Plus, "What's My Grip?" features a look back at Kurt Warner's unique style. #NBCSports #ChrisSimmsUnbuttoned #NFL
    Chapters:
(0:00) Ben Roethlisberger was underrated, even if he didn't know his grip.
(4:30) Behind the Curtain: What changed in this year's Top 40 process?
(7:30) #35 Jameis Winston: "Arguably the best big-play backup QB in the NFL. But there’s a DGAF aspect that you can’t completely trust.”
(16:10) #34 Bryce Young: "Great natural feel for the QB position. But there are too many games where he’s overwhelmed, and that scares me.”
(27:15) #33 Sam Darnold: “He still has starting-caliber traits, especially his quick release. But he’s been in bad situations that expose his mechanical flaws.”
(24:40) #32 Anthony Richardson: “His skillset alone makes defenses change the way they play. Sky’s the limit. But we obviously need to see him play more.”
(44:30) #31 Ryan Tannehill: “He can’t do the above-and-beyond anymore. But if you give him a few pieces, he can still get it done, especially downfield.”
(54:35) “What’s My Grip?”: After failing Monday, can Chris go 5-for-5 today?
(1:01:35) Homies react: Why is Kenny Pickett over Gardner Minshew? And why didn't Aidan O'Connell make the Top 40?

Might I remind you that you had a bottom 3 offensive line, bottom 3 running back room, and the worst pass catching group (WR's/TE's) last year. Guess what you addressed in the draft?
You also upgraded your head coach from one of the worst hires in NFL history, to one of the best, proven offensive minds (Dave Canales). Some coaches are different by how they articulate. Canales will bring stability.
Eagles fans didn't believe in Hurts after year one. Same thing in Miami and Buffalo. You're in the same boat. At the very least, if he doesn't improve as a player, he will perform significantly better with what's around him.
Personally, I've watched him grow up. He has the mental makeup that can take all the criticism, the processing speed to exploit defenses, and one of the most accurate arms, to all levels of the field.

If you believe that Chris you are far more foolish than I thought. Brownjng should have been from 30-32 on your list. Jamie Winston is better than Browning? I think not. Browning went 4-3 last year had 1936 passing yards, 12 tds 7 ints, a 98.3 passer rating and a completion percentage of 71.4, and a QBR of 60.2. Please let me know does someone actually like ahmad repeating Novice Film Watcher, sort of like saying Chris Simms NFL analyst.. But seems unnecessary for it to be a repeated phrase

God Ahmed is the worst. It really sucks that we have to suffer through Ahmed’s incessant unfunny, distracting jokes just to be able to watch and learn from Simms

Still in SHOCK over the Bryce Young pick… too small, too slow, too weak, throws from toes, blind to segments of the field, fumbler … bust.

@@evansspeightsdenzelwell we can see how it goes but we know he’s not gonna be an elite QB ever. He doesn’t possess the traits. He’s sooo small. It’s just not gonna happen. And that alone tells you that it was a foolish pick

Worst take ever. Rookie QB who was given the worst supporting cast in football. If you watch him, he makes incredible reads and has accuracy. Its way too early to call him a bust.

    Long standing Panthers Fan Here.
His Bryce Young take was pure BS. To the point where I lost a ton of respect for Chris Simms because it’s so far from reality. Anyone watching Carolina football last year can tell you Bryce played like his size didn’t matter. His Oline was nearly the worst ranked in the LG, his OC was a first timer who got fired, his HC didn’t know how to call a game and got fired, he is the third most sacked QB since sacks were recorded, he didn’t have a single WR who could separate AND we were the 30th in Run Block Success Rate (per ESPN) so our running game was a non factor. To not mention anything above and say Bryce left “a ton” of plays out there and they had to manage him “so much” is unfiltered BS.
I can only conclude that Chris Simms’ take lacked any semblance of reality is because he put Bryce behind CJ because of his size and got a lot of hell for it and now he’s double downing on his original narrative as an F you. This take was wild distortion of reality. You don’t gotta like Bryce because you fear his size but don’t mislead viewers.
AlexRollinsNFL did a great video on Bryce titled “The Panthers run ONE play on repeat” that is a far more accurate telling of Carolina and Bryce last year than Chris Simms could ever hope for.
