Who else wants Simms to teach us schemes and stuff during the offseason when there are no stories to talk about? Kobie Turner should have gotten the award last year. IF Bengals safety Jordan Battle had started more than 8 games last year I think he wins it. He didn’t become a starter until there were 8 games left and he had 69 tackles, 2 sacks, 6 pass deflections, 2 interceptions. In 8 fucking games!! He made the All Rookie team because his 8 games was better than the 17 games of some of the others. Let’s just double that. 140 tackles, 4 sacks, 12 pass deflections, and 4 interceptions. That is FAR more impressive than an outside linebacker who got 7 sacks.

Chris understands how much BTJ will make a difference with the talent we have, our offense was hampered by a lack of vertical threat, Ridley was just a more athletic Kirk, BTJ and Gabe Davis help us take the top off and create space for everyone else to include the run game. T law is at his best when he has the longer physical athletic target. He had so many over throws that would have been caught by WRs like Gabe and BTJ.

To be the next Jalen Carter this year I’m going to go with one of my top 3 this year. Byron Murphy, Johnny Newton, or Kris Jenkins. Most people don’t realize this but Byron Murphy played Nose Tackle for about 50% of his snaps at Texas. Yes. Even when both he and Sweat were on the field. Sweat would be at 3 tech sometimes and Murphy at the zero at the nose. All the time I saw that. There is a misconception out there that you HAVE TO BE at least 325 pounds to play nose tackle. No you don’t. Murphy is about 300 pounds. Listed as 308 during the year. Kobie Turner is a nose tackle and he weighs about 292 lbs. the Bengals have 2 nose tackles on the team Jay Tufele he is 305 and a NT. Jake Bell is 310 and a NT. But now that drafted Jackson who is 330 he is the new nose tackle the primary but you don’t have to be that size. And also if you are 330+ you can play 3 tech. He’ll end 5 tech if you have the speed.

As a Titans fan, let me help Hawaiian shirt out:
Sweat could be considered a reach, sure. But there was no player with his skillset that would’ve been available in the 4th round. Meanwhile, Fiske is 24, a 3-tech and has NO PASS RUSH MOVES.
Cedric Gray will start from day one and has starter upside. You’d rather us take a WR who’ll fight for WR3/4 at best, and have no legit #1/2 upside? When we have talent that was misused under the last regime still on the roster?
Media needs to stop being lazy with their draft takes. It just shows you don’t have the nuances of the NFL teams that aren’t covered nationally every day.

You know in 2017 Carl Lawson was a rookie and he had 8.5 sacks and made the All Rookie team but wasn’t even considered for defensive rookie of the year because he was a 4th round pick and not a 1st. That Defensive tackle that the Rams got last year should have been the rookie of the year. He. Was either a 3rd or 6th round pick and he had 6.5 sacks. In 2018 Sam Hubbard was not a starter for the Bengals yet but still had 6.5 sacks. The next year he was a starter and had 8.5 sacks. Yea there were a lot of people more deserving of that award last year besides Will Anderson. The year Bosa won it it was definitely deserved.

Darius Robinson did not impress me. Especially not in round 1. If this was the year 2000-2005 he might have been a 1st round pick then because you had a lot of true 3-4 defense and Robinson is or has the build of a 3-4 defensive end lined up at the 5 technique over the tackle. That’s truly what Leonard Williams is too a 3-4 DE. Not many people run a true old school 3-4 anymore. Robinson is 6’5’’ 285. Pretty small to be pumping DT or 3 tech in a 4-3. But I don’t like him in the edge either because he doesn’t have the speed or agility to play there in the NFL. He ran a 4.95, which so did Sam Hubbard the Bengals DE, but Hubbard has elite agility numbers and great 10 yard split which that the 3 cone and 20 yard shuttle are far more important numbers for an edge that 40 time. So Robinson had a 4.95 40, a 1.73 10 yard split which is terrible, a 4.76 shuttle not great and a 7.87 3 cone which is great if you are a fucking offensive lineman!!

Herbert had a way better rookie year than Stroud did. I think Stroud takes a step back this year. DC’s have a year of tape on him now. And your rookie year is always easier when you have a Pro Bowl left tackle
And multiple 1st round picks on your line.

Fiske is 24 and will be 25 during the season. He has 31 inch arms
Too. Not many Days and Edge guys with arms less than 32 inches make it. In fact 32 is the cutoff point. Fiske is athletic as hell but I don’t think he can hold up against NFL Guards and Centers.

So because his arm length is one short of the minimum he won’t be good player? The one thing he has in his favor is a quick get off and blazing speed he ran a 4.7 forty, I disagree with you I trust McVay and Snead over a keyboard opinion 😆

Dude JUSTIN HERBERT had a FAR better rookie year than CJ fuckin Stroud. It’s not even close! He played 15 games his rookie year and had 4400 yards 31 tds 230 rushing yards 5 rushing tds. Stroud also played 15 games and had 4100 passing yards 23 tds 167 rushing yards and 3 rushing tds. Herbert 36 tds. Stroud 26. Herbert 67% completion percentage Stroud 64% completion percentage. Strouds passer rating was 4 points higher. Herbert threw 10’pkcls stround through 5. Now on what planet is Stroud better than Herbert in his rookie year. Why because he threw 5 fewer interceptions? Because his passer rating was 4 whole
Points higher? You guys don’t know wtf
    You are talking about.

How do people not think Dejean can play outside? Base defense? In base defense Dejean should be a CORNERBACK…. You can’t tell me James Bradberry will be a better corner next year than Dejean. God I can’t wait for this guy to make so many people look stupid.

  • @NathanDean79

Wait hold on a sec. You think Jalen Carter is one of the top 3 defensive tackles in football? What?! He had 33 tackles, 6 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 td. That’s ok but it’s not top 3. Or top 5. Might be top 10. Kobie Turner was a rookie last year too a 3rd round pick and he plays Nose Tackle so it’s harder for those guys to get sacks. He had 57 tackles, 9 sacks, 2 pass deflections. He should have been rookie of the year not Will Anderson. In 15 starts last year Sheldon Rankins had 37 tackles, 2 forced Fumbles, and 6 sacks. Which is basically almost identical to your boy Carter. And Carter was also playing on a fucking stacked Defensive line.

wtf are you talking about PFF guy? Jermaine Burton hasn’t been to ‘a bunch’ of different schools. He played for Georgia for 2 years then transfered and played for Alabama for 2 years. So where is the bunch of schools in there? Are we calling two (2) schools a bunch of?? There are guys that were drafted this year that went to a bunch of schools. Burton is not one of them. There are guys that were drafted this year that went to four (4) different schools. When I say a bunch of schools that means 3 or more not 2.

How does Cooper Dejean get 0 love. Slept on in the draft for god knows what reason. Dejean is gonna get on the field early unlike what most think. Dejean will be the top rookie DB this year. Love Mitchell, popular pick, Dejean is gonna create more splash plays. Dejean should’ve been a top 15 pick. It’s ridiculous how he fell to 40, his value is degraded bc of how versatile he is, and is gonna make so many people look stupid asf

Chargers fans don’t understand the real issue that having Pipkins start at RT is. They want points, explosives, 300 passing yards a game. Except that’s gotten the team nowhere since Herbert was drafted. Give him a dominant OL, keep him healthy, give him a good running offense, give him a good defense, and watch Herbert take over the league.

Almost all Charger fans are happy. Before the Draft there was rumors they are turning down Vikings offer of two 1st rd & a 3rd rd picks for #5 so they can take JC Latham. Then we will trade down w/ our 2nd rd pick for depth(& be unable to get a good WR) The truth was Min didn't offer us a big package. We didn't draft Latham. We moved up for a WR & we didn't overdraft Michigan players. So now we're estastic.

Lol Chris, Ruke isn’t anywhere NEAR as good as Kris Jenkins is. Jenkins was the second best run defender in the whole
Country last year after Sweat. Their measurables were almost identical. Jenkins’s is about an inch shorter and weighs about 6 pounds more than Ruke. They are both 22 and will both turn 23
In October. Ruke was a 5th year player and Jenkins a 4 year player. Ruke made 3rd Team All ACC last year and that’s it. Jenkins was 2nd team All American and 2nd team All Big 12 and a national Champion. And
He was a team captain for 2 years. And there is Ruke with his 3rd team All ACC. Lol. There
Isn’t even a comparison. Their 40 times were virtually identical their vertical and broad were almost identical and they both did 29 reps on the bench press and they both have 34 inch arms. There is absolutely no question that Jenkins
    Was better in college and
Will probably be a better pro. In 4 years we aren’t even going to remember who Ruke is.

Awful Olave take. Just awful. Cleanest routes. Of course it’s Olave and not Carr who abandons the play and throws 16 passes to Kamara every game. Just a god awful take. Olave has the smoothest routes and hands for days. Doesn’t drop. He can’t pass himself the ball. But 3/76? More like 5/95 with Carr every game realizing in Q3 when they are down by 2 scores that he can’t keep checking down to Kamara

  • @NathanDean79

See I didn’t really like the Chargers draft that much. They had a golden opportunity to heft Justin Herbert his Jamar Chase in Malik Nabers. Yea they did get a dam good tackle but they don’t even need a LT. You have an All Pro there. What you have is a dam good left tackle that now must transition to the right side. And wasn’t as big on Mckonky. I think there were better WRs available in round 2. Like Adoni Mitchell for instance. Big guy who runs 4.34.
