    I was considering the Rep FT-500 and the Titan, as both had great specs like adequate weight stacks and aluminum pulleys, but ultimately, I went with the Titan.
    The 2 reasons I bought Titan is because the 82" height was a better fit for my basement gym than the 85.5" RT-5000 and the Titan's wider 64" width allows for better crossover and fly exercises than the 58" FT-5000.
    Build quality and smoothness are very good and I'm pleased with the decision.

    I personally don't like functional trainer all that much but the one sold by rep fitness with all of the additional attactments looks worth giving ir a try.

      Yeah, it definitely depends on how you prefer to train as well. Out of all the ones I've looked at, the compact FT-3000 from Rep looks solid for home gym use, so I agree with you!
      Thanks for watching Rocio! It means a lot as always:)

    Good review!
    I’m 5ft7 10st will the rep 3000 be good enough for me to do bicep curls / tricep push downs / chest flys?
    Thank you

      Thanks man! I definitely think you should be good for any movements you want to do at that height. plus, the new 2.0 model has made a bunch of improvements so it's a great choice with a smaller footprint.

    Debating between the torque f9 and the rep 3000?

    • @RedgraveStrength
      @RedgraveStrength  2 года назад

      I would go with the Torque F9 most likely as you can increase the weight stack up to 225 lbs compared to just 180 on the FT-3000.
      Plus, it'll take less time to break in overall.
      Hopefully this helps Marco! Let me know what you go with!

    Should I get repfitness with ares or force usa or jacked up rack with cable systwm and Smith machine? I also like the rft bodycraft

    • @RedgraveStrength
      @RedgraveStrength  2 года назад

      Hey Marco good question!
      It just depends on your budget and what you need to use.
      Force usa has their G3 all in one trainer that has a power rack, functional trainer, Smith machine, pull up bar, etc. It is plate loaded but that makes it the best value by far.
      That's what I would go with if you just want everything in one unit. It's a great price too.
      Here's the link so you can check it out Marco.

    Comments on a Precor S3.23?

    • @RedgraveStrength
      @RedgraveStrength  2 года назад

      It seems pretty solid overall but the only issue is the weight stacks.
      Since it has a 2:1 ratio for the cable pulleys, the 150 lbs on each stack is effectively only 75 lbs.
      So if you plan on doing things like cable presses, you're only working with 150 lbs max.
      If that’s enough for you then you should be good.
      However, there are a bunch of other functional trainers that are rated just as well but have much heavier cable stacks for a lower price.
      Hopefully this helps!

    I am seriously considering the rep 500 vs the rep 300. Which would you recommend?

    • @RedgraveStrength
      @RedgraveStrength  2 года назад +2

      I would definitely recommend either one as they're both solid.
      If the extra 350 for the FT-5000 doesn't matter much to you, I would go with that as the weight stacks are around 40 lbs heavier on each side.
      However, if you have a limited amount of space and want to save some room, the FT-3000 is just as good and you can get some gympins to add weight plates to the stacks.
      Either way it's a great choice. Hope this helps!

    I just order the functional trainer from Valor Fitness. Amazon has it for 825, Valor has it on its website for 738, however Valor does have a veterans discount which brought my price down to 664. Just over month ago I ordered a tall wall mount tower from Titan and they kept pushing back delivery date citing manufacturing delays. I decided to cancel and get a refund as I am not sure when or if it would ever arrive. Titan's functional trainer looks like identical to Valor's and both are rated around 4.5 stars. However Titan's functional trainer costs 900 as opposed to the 664 I just paid for Valor's. Also after the poor experience in this order I do not think I will be doing any business with Titan. I think the functional trainer will be far better than the wall mount tower, but at first I did not want to spend that much. I already ordered new attachments and now can not wait to try out the new functional trainer when it arrives next week.

      Makes sense to me Tony! You aren't the only one that has had trouble with titan.
      But I've definitely heard things about Rogue, Rep, Amazon, and others as well.
      That's great you got one with such a sweet discount! I hope it works perfect for what you need to do in your training!

      Hey man, just ordered mine with Veterans discount for 664 as well. How's your experience with this equipment? Please let me know so that I can either look forward to it or call and cancel before it's too late. Thanks

    • @tonyrobinson9328
      @tonyrobinson9328 2 года назад +1

      @@chadguru9565 It works great smooth motion and very stable. I am still very satisfied with it, and highly recommend it. I watched a video to see how to run the cables as the instructions are not very good on that part, but not complicated after you see they run from one side to the other. I have not tried to bench on it but do not think it would work well for that. Also note how close the sides are, that makes cable crossover kind of ackward as you do not have much room inside there but they can be done by stepping forward a few steps. Not counting that minor exception I have tried many exercises with it and it works great on all of them and that includes all muscle groups. I hope you will be just as satisfied with it as I am and I think you will be.

  • @steverapos3904
    @steverapos3904 2 года назад +1

    I had something like the Titan/Valor fitness models before and I would say it has some downsides. First off, it is a lot less smooth - you have a high pull, low pull, and. 2 side pulleys all connected to the same weight stack - that means it will go through a lot of pulley's - and there is major drag on the eccentric portion of movement. For doing some exercises with lighter weights like triceps, biceps and shoulders this is rather noticeable as the eccentric is like 10 pounds or so less resistance then the concentric portion. Next, they are bigger in terms of depth then a normal functional trainer and have limited weight storage so you will need even more space dedicated to a weight storage tree. As for cost, you got to account for the weight plates as extra (which are costly these days) so it is not as cheap as it seems. Furthermore, dealing with weight plates is not as fast as weight stacks, and you will need to leave some weight on the unit if you want to do higher weight loads on it (which means needing extra weight plates). Finally, being a cheaper option it is not like quality control is great - the guide rods are often bent which adds even more drag to pulley. Don't get me wrong, it is still the cheapest while offering higher weight loads and a high and low pulley so it will work for some - but I think many people would be better served by a traditional functional trainer.
