      @@timmygibsonkc JUDE 1
1Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ: 2Mercy unto you and peace and love be multiplied.
3Beloved, while I was giving all diligence to write unto you of our common salvation, I was constrained to write unto you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered unto the saints. 4For there are certain men crept in privily, even they who were of old written of beforehand unto this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
5Now I desire to put you in remembrance, though ye know all things once for all, that the Lord, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. 6And angels that kept not their own principality, but left their proper habitation, he hath kept in everlasting bonds under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. 7Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them, having in like manner with these given themselves over to fornication and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire. 8Yet in like manner these also in their dreamings defile the flesh, and set at nought dominion, and rail at dignities. 9But Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing judgment, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. 10But these rail at whatsoever things they know not: and what they understand naturally, like the creatures without reason, in these things are they destroyed. 11Woe unto them! for they went in the way of Cain, and ran riotously in the error of Balaam for hire, and perished in the gainsaying of Korah. 12These are they who are hidden rocks in your love-feasts when they feast with you, shepherds that without fear feed themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13wild waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the blackness of darkness hath been reserved for ever. 14And to these also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, Behold, the Lord came with ten thousands of his holy ones, 15to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their works of ungodliness which they have ungodly wrought, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. 16These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their lusts (and their mouth speaketh great swelling words), showing respect of persons for the sake of advantage.
17But ye, beloved, remember ye the words which have been spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18that they said to you, In the last time there shall be mockers, walking after their own ungodly lusts. 19These are they who make separations, sensual, having not the Spirit. 20But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22And on some have mercy, who are in doubt; 23and some save, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
24Now unto him that is able to guard you from stumbling, and to set you before the presence of his glory without blemish in exceeding joy, 25to the only God our Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and power, before all time, and now, and for evermore. Amen.

I think people are leaving Christianity because it's clearly been debunked. Jesus told his disciples they would live to see the son of man return. So unless one of them was a vampire, this was a failed prophecy. The disciples expected Jesus to ride in on a cloud with an army of angels to kick off judgment day. It didn't happen. Debunked.

The Preterist took the Futurist to school
It seems like mainstream versions of Christianity never win debates. Even the fringe denominations like Preterism and Unitarians take mainstream denominations to school in debates.
The debates are the biggest things that took me out of Christianity besides my dad passing away. I've never seen my dad go to church. It was always me and my mom. After my dad died, I was scared he went to heII. Thats when I started rejecting Christianity. My dad was a good guy who was in my life daily. He took care of me. I could never choose any God over my dad.

Additionally, those accusations came out shortly after YT demonetized his channel for talking too much against the vax and other globalist agendas he is striking back against. Further nothing came of the SA accusations because it was a smear against him... Probs would suit you better to actually give the man some time of day to check him out for yourself and hear what he is about. No one is perfect, and no one has everything correct, but he is sincere, and his life journey has been quite intense and varied; not to mention he spent far more years researching, dabbling and practicing in all kinds of faiths, from new age to Buddhism before he even came to Christianity. I believe there is afterlife and eternal sould but afterlife is "home" rather than heaven or hell as describedby Christianity. I think reincarnation is real. However sometimes when I am struggling I still turn to psalms for encouragement and pray to God. It's a bit inconsistent but this is as far as I've gotten.

If you are a believer (I am not anymore either - just playing "the devil's advocate" here ... oh well ... ), believing in virgin birth, resurrection, Jesus was God and man in one, miracles etc, is not all that difficult. Because as a believer the underlying assumption is that Christianity (or some specific brand of it at least) is True and that the religious authorities really know what they are talking about, and then you just assume that God chose to defy natural laws in those few specific instances
It's not all that different from other beliefs that are more "rational". For instance: I believe that gravity is a real thing and that the earth is "round" or maybe rather "ellipsoid", but I still don't understand how this gravity really works or why we and everything else don't fall off. I just assume the scientists have got gravity (more or less) right, and I'm too lazy to look into it since I live happily with that assumption.

As for him claiming to be Christian is very interesting considering eastern philosophy and meditation is what got him off drugs, i think hes just trying to reach a bigger audience not because of money because he truly cares about all of us truly hes a man of god , besides eastern philosophy has plenty of different yogis for inspiration jesus could easily be considered one ( if he even existed) . When you say other religions look at other religions as false is false actually alot of hindus and Buddhist and janes are totally ok with jesus . Hindus believe everything is god including you so there not so separated from the rest of us like Christians or muslims or the jews . Actually it seems you havnt done your research on other religions because you were told not to from your old religion,. I highly recommend looking into Hinduism and Buddhism its fucking fascinating! and as for proof of what happens when you die in my opinion NDE's are it , iv watched hundreds , alot of similarities and the ones that are drug induced i dont even listen too it has to be caused naturally for me to give it a chance. Monotheism is the instigator of ignorance, oppression, and violence. Monotheism has been a "totalizing discourse", often co-opting all aspects of a social belief system, resulting in the exclusion of "others". Monotheism is less pluralistic , because monotheism stipulates that people pigeonhole their beliefs into one tenet. "Monotheism is irreconcilable with the existence in our nature of the instincts of benevolence" because it compels followers to devote themselves to a single Creator. The logic of monotheism yields little basis for tolerating other religions". Monotheism anesthetize the sense of wonder as if one were committed to a single line of thought by a cosmic legal contract"..

I was raised in an Evangelical Lutheran church. I then left and became a Satanist. I was friends with LaVey's second wife and grandson, until their respective deaths in 2022.
About 6 years ago, I had a near death experience ... full OOB experience, life review, including parts of my own future.
I told myself it was a hallucination for 3 years as everything happened in real life.
I am now a sincere Christian. I am not any longer an Evangelical, BECAUSE of the the fundamentalism.
Every LESSON taught in that book, is true.... but the parables ARE stories. It's the insistance that everyone see it the same, and understand it the same, and dress the same, and criticized differences like long hair on a man (never mind the man on the cross has long hair in most of their depictions). It's the cultishness. That's what drives people away.

I feel you on just having a sincere hunger for truth. My EXPERIENCE however has led me to Yahusha, and the love of Yah. I get how corny that must sound to the Lotta ya. I grew up with my sister while she was playing with weegie boards n ish and seen some weird things. A lot of things you said show me that you are not as knowledgeable as you should be for being a pastor for that long.. manuscripts have kept their integrity and still stand the test of time. Yea, newer translations are continually eroding the message, but that doesn't change the og manuscripts and how the KJV sticks with them. Also the books that have been taken out are very interesting but its obvious that some are gnostic texts written much later or just extra biblical. A lot of what I'm seeing is pointing to the opposite of a lot of things that you have mentioned but I understand there must be a great falling away, and mainstream Christianity is a joke, it kept me far away for the long time. I listen to a lot of deconstruction videos. I am a believer. I live in europe (9 years in los angeles in the 90s) and american christianity is a phenomenon to me. It is eiter/or.
This is what i ask myself.
    Bear with me, please
I live in switzerland. 9 major parties and 7 presidents. We vote on almost all decisions, government can only act by our votes. That keeps a good balance and prevets shifts into extremes.
So, growing up you have a very wide range of inbetween to choose from.
In america, i was shocked, by the 2 extreme views. And the opposition is evil.?!! That was scary to me. Because here, my views on certain things are middle or a bit more left or right, depending what it is about.
My faith is the same way. I have a lot of questions and am fully aware, of the humanity of the writers, yet i see (fir me) the inspired part. (I think God choose humans, flawed, on urpose 😉 relateability 😂)
That makes it alive and interesting, „let us reason“ God says… okay, God, you made this brain, so i am supposed to use it to doubt and question, right?!
What i know for sure, is that i am fullfilled, off drugs (12 years heroin+) healed from traumas and depression (from SA and violence in childhood) and have a great relationship with my 2 adult kids. I am a widdow (lost my live in a fire) and have MS. Mostly bed bound often.
But the world, in all its cruelness and beauty makes now sense and i am more at peace and grateful, than i ever was (and that is with my story a miracle in itself)
I know, this is all too compressed to go into debt, just a attempt to explain a bit.
So, i have a hard time understanding, that when one leaves christianity and church, that one also gives up on Jesus. He makes sense to me like not much else in this world.
I am almost 60, lived in many continents, worked as a translator in the political arena and for articles and books. Did research work and paralegal work, before i got sick. So i am not religion based. I just got changed by my relarionship with God and even though i doubt most things and am horribly critical to most things, my faith is tge thing that keeps me sane and grounded when all around me goes more and more insane.
I struggle to understand, how people can leave the relationship part of faith.
I do not let any christian tell me that i live my faith wrong, none of them will stand next to me in front of God. But that love is the purest and realest thing to me in this world and it is far from religion. Did you never miss Him? Besides the doubtable stuff, is He not different from what humans make Him out for their agenda?
Science and evolution does not contradict faith, it prooves it to me.

This religion got me when I was really lost, and figured this was the way to go. I was in it for awhile thiinking it was making a difference and for the record it did.... Until, I started to question all the stories in the bible had nothing to do with me. It felt great being part of a group, however once you tell them your weakness that's what they use to keep you. The control they want over you is really too much. It accrued to me the more involved you get with the church the less you question things. The men were sinners, the women were victims. Every week was like groundhog day, people sitting in the same seats, talking about the same things like everyone was on autopilot. I am sure if I visit these churches 10 yrs from now nothing will change. I refuse to live life like that. I am also sure this is not how God would want people to live their lives as robots.

I am seeing a great deal of conversation to both (or perhaps reversion) from Christian fundamentalism. For the catholic faiths, eastern and western, tradition is as important as the Bible. It is more than a collection of customs or habits. It encompasses the whole of the teaching and how it has been applied to life and worship. @@ryanrevland4333 It's a fair question. My answer is that it's not the only was God spoke to me.
Here's another, even stranger. 15 years ago, I was teaching a community Jujutsu class at my church. It wasn't really getting traction after months. Only 3-4 sporadic students.
One night, no one came at all. Weary from setting up week after week, I knelt down in the middle of the mats and prayed "I want don't want to keep doing this. But, if you want me to, I will". I opened my eyes, and directly in front of my knees was a red stress ball with "Trust God" on it. This was in a sealed room on raised mats. I had swept the floor and rolled them out myself. I gave it another week, and 50 students had signed up within the month. I led that group for 10 years.
6 months ago, I was setting out to leave my bi-vocational church position to build a church with only volunteer (unpaid) leaders. I was worried about it, but had experienced too much dealing with the mixed motives of some (not all) peer pastors to keep serving that particular denomination.
I was walking around and praying about it when I happened upon something in my footpath. I leaned over, and it was another of those "Trust God" stress balls. I hadn't seen another in 15 years. I've got that one in my car, and I'm giving it a go.
I could be crazy and also seeing things. On the plus side, I've been married 28 years, have 2 kids who are both doing well, have been blessed enough in my day work (IT) to provide for my family, and I've have been able to serve God in some interesting ways.

From my research I have done over the last twenty years, I would say that the majority of people that confess to being Christian, truly believe what their bibles are telling them. I am not a religious person, but I know for a fact, that they're far more important criteria in understanding a persons reasons for practicing a particular faith, and adhering to it, than just a haphazard guess to why they do so in the first place. Expanding Knowledge.

I think someone figured out a long time ago that people are going to make mistakes and they're going to commit acts against one another that they'll have to atone for.
Once they convinced people that those actions could be called sin, then the guilt trips started and you needed a Grand Security Camera to make sure they were following along dutifully because they were scared of having their "sin" exposed to them.
Once that was in place, we were off to the races.

I'm a Christ follower, but I believe the Bible is a book mentions some of Christ's teachings. I have a serious problem with the concept of mindless obedience, and belief. Also, Christ's miracles do not prove that's he's G-D! It proves he's got powers. So we are to take his round about mentioning that he's G-D. Like Adam and Eve we are to be punished for not understanding something? And G-D is okay with this??? I feel like this book is just the writings of ancient men. But as of late I do believe the Lord is real.

And then they have nothing to say, or if they are still stubborn i ask them why are bibles printed in china by a company found by a former catholic? When china is 80 percent athiest and about 10 percent of budhist and street preaching is illegal in china? And if they are still not convinced, i ask them why the read king james version bible which is printed in china and dedicated to kind james of england, who was a secret homosexual and wasnt even a religious figure, or why billy graham was a freemason and very good friends with bush and jfk , who were freemasons from yale ??? My deconstruction began the day I truly came to believe that God loved me exactly as I am. The church preaches a sinless existence that isn’t possible, which equates to being in a constant state of want and need for approval from God and others. Christians pick and choose what to believe from the Bible….thats red flag #1. But more importantly God either loves us or he doesn’t. He’s not keeping a score or rating us like Olympic athletes and there are no awards in heaven (bigger crowns, bigger mansions, etc.) Just love God and know he loves you. Don’t try to figure it out, don’t try to be perfect, and don’t follow the hypocrites. One of my favorite (and conflicting) statements I heard growing up in the church was that there would be Buddhists in heaven and Christian’s in hell. If any Christian truly believe that, then you already have your answer about the love of God.

It's so wild, the people that are in this comment section. I never believed in any religion so i still have some trouble understanding how something i see as so objectively bad (the emphasis on might makes right and violence is justified because the person doing the violence gaslights you into thinking you deserve it, etc).
My parents were religious (my mother moreso than my father) and they almost couldn't marry because they were from different denominations of the "same" faith. I never believed the stuff at church and it wasn't reinforced at home constantly so it felt weird when i'd go somewhere and people would do things like thank god for the 3 course meal made by their mother as if she had no hand in it, or praying for sports games instead of for the people who actually needed help. I went to some wed night things with some friends and stopped going because i was ruining everyone else's time by asking the hard questions like why would god torture a baby for a week and then kill it (king david's kid), or kill every human infant in the flood instead of neutering the parents so they couldn't perpetuate the cycle (i was a farm kid, and i would never accept the idea of drowning a cat and her kittens because i just didn't feel like getting the cat fixed safely and for free.
Having people come out of the woodwork to tell you that they're glad you'll suffer for eterntiy because you don't worship their god just proved my point that the religion wasn't good. And since then, the best christians i've ever met were the ones least involved in their religion

      JUDE 1
Amen.

It's very simple... "They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us." 1 John 2:19
Most professing Christians, today, are very worldly, so it doesn't take much for them to fall away. So many asked Jesus into their hearts, repeated a prayer after someone or came forward at an altar call (none of which are biblical), but they never repented and exercised the gift of faith to the saving of their souls.
The born-again child of God is kept by the power of God. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will not lose any of us but will raise us up at the last day just as He has promised. We are changed creatures who are sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise unto the day of redemption.
When the lying signs and wonders take full effect, this falling away that is happening now will not compare to what will happen then, but those of us who are born of the Spirit will not be deceived. All glory to God.

There are a number of reasons people leave it. First and foremost, it is a very white male-oriented religion that completely disassociates from women and goes so far as to blame women for "sin." Second is the cult-like, if not outright cult behaviors within that allow one to venerate a single man (the pastor/minister/preacher) and treat him as if he can do no wrong. If he does, it is someone else's or the Devil's fault rather than requiring that he repent and make amends to those he has wronged. The third is deconstruction, which can happen in two different ways. One is to begin to sit with one's faith and work through it to realize that no one should tell you what to believe. Belief is personal and a method and measure of growth where we move from literal to philosophical and more introspective seeking of truths rather than trying to make everything about facts. I am sure that there are others, but this is where I have gotten in my journey. In all of this, though, I have not lost my ability to read the Bible and find within it teachings and comforts that are personal for me. I simply do not require anyone else to tell me what to believe about anything I do as long as what I do still falls under "Love thy neighbor".

People are leaving protestantism because there are no roots man, no tradition or authority, if you don't like your pastor and/or his theology, you just go find another one, it's a commodity. Worship has lost its solemnity, it's just an effeminate display of forced emotions. Some of us go on to live degenerate lifestyles that are spiritually damaging for years. But nobody talks about that eastern orthodoxy is seeing a huge influx of people disenfranchised from protestantism and the roman church. Orthodoxy is the ancient apostolic church, it has deep strong roots, the services are solemn and rich in meaning, symbolism and Grace, the theology finally makes sense, and the mysteries (sacraments) truely heal the soul. Orthodoxy has a place for formal theology, but puts more emphasis on the practice of the teachings of Christ and the apostles, we have 2000 years of testimonies of the saints who show us how men and women look like after the Holy Spirit transforms us, and they aren't just stories, they can truely pray for us and help us.
