- Before transitioning to a locally revered modern rock radio station of local note in 1994, WDOX FM 93.1 started off as an easy listening beautiful music formatted station. WDOX FM "home port" was given as Wildwood Crest, New Jersey though the studio itself was supposedly offshore.
Love this! Thank you for bringing back this great music! 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Very Welcome! I had no idea back in Summer 1993 when I made these cassette recordings via the radio that one day they'd be treasured by a global community on something called 'RUclips'. Enjoy!
And we also had WGAY radio station back in the day in the Silver Spring, Washington DC area.
"93 WPAT, the place to relax...at home, at work, or IN YOUR CAR....especially IN YOUR CAR...tune out all those silly traffic noises, sirens, screaming pedestrians, or any of those other driving nuisances, listen to WPAT, and let the world (and your life) slip away..." (this was an actual commercial.
Hi Ray Gordon Teaches Chess : How I remember Easy 93 WPAT AM & FM in New York City. Remember "Midnight Blue "? What beautiful memories & the music that was played there. 🎵
We're building a network of internet-based, mostly locally-oriented, not-for-profit easy listening/beautiful music stations across the US in order to preserve and expand the format. Two Sometimes When We Touch covers in the first 20 minutes. Lovely stuff.
We had a few Beautiful Music stations in my area. WWMD 104.7 in Hagerstown MD and WFRE 99.9 in Fredrick MD. Toward the end of WFRE's run as Beautiful Music they had talking DJs and not recorded IDs.
Reminds me of KCTC 96.1 FM in Sacramento, CA during the 1980's. They air TV commercials that featured their call letters that were cut from sponges, to promote their soft music format.
The beautiful music station I grew up with was KXL FM 95.5 in Portland, Oregon 1965-1990. “With beautiful music for the great Pacific Northwest this FM KXL 95.5 Portland.”

It reminds me of w w s h when I was a kid I used to listen to that to fall asleep I'm into this kind of music and I'm also into something totally different kind of music house music if you can believe it now only if there's such a thing as easy listening house music if there is such a thing that would be interesting
At 6 minutes in. Classic EZ listening song WYEZ used to play in 80s.
Does anyone know who performs that EXQUISITE version of Bread's "Make It With You" at 20:20?
06:00 "If You Can Read My Mind"
DarkCloak Thank you for this awesome Easy Music it is something I have Missed badly for Many years do you have more of this? Any Way Thank You.
Personally, I have a huge collection of easy listening music... As for radio station beautiful music easy listening archives I have, I have uploaded everything I have to date, including some music of the same format from the late great WSNJ 107.7 FM via Bridgeton, NJ. I have found scores of easy listening/beautiful music radio recordings right here on RUclips. WDOX was started off as an "E-Z Listening" station for a few months in late summer 1993 until it flipped to a modern rock format in spring 1994. I recorded several tapes from that early period of which all have been uploaded here onto RUclips. If I come across something, I'll gladly post more. Thanks for the positive feedback!
Who or.what orchestral is playing If you could read my mind love? Can't find it on RUclips...
Ahhh yeah
0:13 & 2:59 kind of beg the question "Why would you have "beautiful music" versions of songs that are ALREADY "beautiful music", to begin with?!!!!"
Dose anyone knows what's this song name at 20:20
"Make it with you" by Bread
9:21
wait it existed in 1992? I am triggered.
No, WDOX went on the air as a "Beautiful Music/EZ Listening" station in August 1993. Then adopted a "Modern Rock" format the following late spring in 1994.
All the songs with vocals sound like The Chipmunks LOL
