Wow I just bought a 2007. I came on here to see how to Bluetooth my iPhone ( not seen on the manual) I am so glad I saw this. No issues yet but still can’t find how to connect my phone 😩 Great video!
You know your stuff. I have a 2007 Murano and had 2 of these issues. The seat and tailgate. I was lucky that the seat one day slid back on the track itself one day. My car only has 86k miles but it burns oil in the engine. Its a very slow leak because the oil does not go down when I check it and no temp gauges or oil gauges come on. But you can smell the oil burning sometimes really bad. I am sort of used to it by now but every once in a while a little smoke comes out of the engine but no engine lights come on and all fluids or normal. Only keeping it for another year or less though. The biggest issue on these vehicles which should have been a recall is the power steering leak that many/most of these had.
The oil is probably because the valve cover gaskets need to be changed. It is a very easy fix and not very expensive. Breathing those oil fumes is not good for your lungs or for the environment and could cause an engine fire after it builds up on your engine. Get that fixed ASAP.
The Japanese engines (in the 350 & Murano) did not suffer from faulty upper tensioner wear as did the North American built engine (in Maxima, Frontier, Pathfinders, Xterra, and Altima V6). I bought a brand new onr in 2006. Started having problems with drivers seat in about 2009. The seat became loose , took it to the dealer a few times about that. Otherwise, it was a great truck
At the end of your video, "Top 5 Problems...", you state to use the comments section for other issues, question or concerns. My concern is with my 2006 Nissan Murano. It has recently left me stranded on an extremely hot day. (Extreme heat may or may not be relevant). I began driving when, without any warning of any kind, my Murano stopped accelerating coasting to a stop. Engine was still running smooth, but would not move forward or in reverse. Check engine light did not come on, nor were there any other warning lights on of any kind. Nothing indicating there was a problem. I had just left my house and had only driven a block when this happened. I put it in park & raised the hood to check the transmission fluid while it was still running.
My alternator went out at same time caused battery to die got stranded on highway barely able to pull over loss of all control but got new alt & battery and fixed it also needed new connectors
I have a 04 Murano it started off great and I have some service records from the previous owner ( family member) But now it’s making a crackling noise upon acceleration, the rpm are stuck at almost 3 when picking up speed and it smokes on the passenger side upon long distance traveling. I just want to junk it but the miles are exceptionally low on it (154,000 ) and there is no check engine light so I’m lost for words with this vehicle
+tootie seckinger We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
154K, you need to spend some money and fix it. Check engine lights are only for emission related issues, not oil leaks. If the rattling noise is the convertor it's already to late as the broken catalyst will turn to a grit and enter the engine resulting in oil consumption, though a ck eng light would have surely come on if that were the case
rattling (crackling?) can be the exhaust heat shields cracking, very common issue on Nissan V-6's over 100K. It's normal for any CVT transmission to maintain a constant RPM under acceleration. Have a mechanic check for an oil leak (valve covers) causing smoking.
Hi...I have a 2006 Murano that i recently took in because it has a burn smell when i park it. Originally i took it to the dealer because when I drive it in the morning at first start it feels like it's going to stall. After I use it it drives fine. The car has 116k miles on it. No oil on the floor. I was told it has a torque converter seal leak, oil pan and gasket leaking and possibly power steering rack leak. I know it's an old car but i can't afford a car payment right now. Can the car be driven with these issues as long as the fluids are checked? Any advice is appreciated... thank you.
Nice that the smaller problems.. now lets Talk the CVT going out and what going into safe mode feels like and how about the Speed sensors and Cam sensors ???... all crap !! in fact every Murano made has been crap with these ongoing problems..
@@rubychavez1325 Check the air intake duct from filter to throttle body. The rubber ducts get very hard and will disconnect. This issue usually happens after an air filter replacement causing the duct to pull off because it is not flexible. Issue is more noticeable upon acceleration as the engine rocks back causing the gap to expand.
I am having the same problems with my Murano 2006...loses power out of nowhere both when going uphill and when its flat..when you press the throttle pedal nothing happens..then it jerks and stalls
can you post a link to Nissans updated parts for this car? every single issue is what I'm having I'm about to replace throttle body and everything listed.
Just had ECM replaced by dealership in our 07 Nissan Murano due to P0605 code, but engine won't accelerate barely 5-8mph.. just out allot of money & car still having issues
5/23 just bought a n 06 and when I go to start I have to set the choke to start it will start. Just get in and go, have to start 2x and starts is that a problem? I had it a month thanks Kevin
Looking at a 2004 SL with 180000 miles. The dealer is replacing the head gasket and they want $3995 for the car. Should I walk away or would this be a good deal? Thanks for the vid!
Sorry about that I must have hit send. Anyway as I was saying check the transmission fluid the oil did not smell burnt it was didn't indicate it needed any. The fluid is light in color not real dark. I then looked around to see if maybe a belt broke, but I believe that would have made it shut down. or then I ended up turning it off tried to start I started it again
i have a 2004 Nissan Murano and Im having a problem with enough power going to the crankability of the car. Also, throughout a days driving, turning the corner to get home, I lose acceleration and the car idles as if the car is in park yet it will accelerate as if you take your foot off the brake to roll into acceleration. Do you have any suggestions about how to correct the imperfections?

My Nissan murano has these symptoms but I don’t know what it could be any suggestions •Press on gas and the car doesn’t seem to move the speed it’s intended to, can’t even go up hills •It rejects gas when I know the gas is low •takes a while to turn on when I put the key in
I have a 2004 Nissan Murano. After driving it for about 20 to 30 minutes I have a issue. When I am stopped at a red light, then the light turns green, I step on the gas to go but for about 3 to 5 seconds the engine does not go. The RPMs don't move either. Just nothing. Then it takes off like the gas is rushing the the engine. What can my problem be?
06 Nissan Murano SE 60,000 miles just developed a vibration when AC is on seems as if rpm’s are raising the higher the fan is on but not 100% sure of that. Does this sound like an ac problem or possibly something as simple as old belts? Thanks in advance. Brian
My 06 Murano keeps acting like it has no power. The catalytic converter was stopped up and I fixed it but it is still doing it. Does this have something to do with the transmission? If not what could this be? I am at a loss right now
I have a question. I have an 04 model. I went to take to get serviced and parked it on the road. They rung 10 minutes later saying it wouldn’t drive forward or reverse. It could start fine but thats about it. It couldnt even rev. Would that be a transmission problem?
So I had a friend she took her Murano into Firestone because the hose keeps falling off well they had it twice and the hose keeps falling off would you happen to know the issue I was told the hose clamps are on backwards
my 2006 Murano. i changed Crankshaft sensor & Camshaft sensor & temperature sensor and Vias control Solenoid Valve .but Still sometime after runn like two hours normally. then in the traffic jam or moving very slowly the Engine stopped. to restart again need at least 10 min . ?
Have a 2007 nissan murano AWD and there is a slight high pitch sound that's changing with the RPM of the motor and stays in second gear and also the motor rev's at 4000 RPM at 100 Kilometer Per Hour and does not go into drive. Whats up with this?
Len, I think you're misleading people a bit on the throttle body. My understanding is that most people who aren't jamming the heck out of the butterfly valve can do a simple throttle relearn process on it, which they also need to do on a new tb assembly. www.nissanhelp.com/diy/murano/projects/nissan_murano_idle_air_volume_learning.php Prob a good idea to take a pic with your phone before starting, or measure the distance the top of the butterfly valve is from the side. Clean, slightly move the bf valve, clean some more, move it back into position. Still have to relearn most likely, however should be close. Aside the transmission which Nissan replaced at 116K under extended warranty, the only other problem has been cam position sensors, which are a cheap and easy fix, and it likes going through front rotors. Also burning close to 1L oil every 1200-1300 miles at 156K miles now. Just had the drivers window die on me, but if it doesn't have any other major failures I am liking the no car payments for the past 10 years and will drive it into the dirt. Will NOT be buying a Nissan again. At this point, not sure if Nissan is as bad/good as Mitsubishi.
Most oil consumption issues are due to catalytic convertor failure resulting in a fine dust from the catalyst entering the engine cause cylinder/piston ring wear
Good day, so i own a 09 murano awd, and recently the car as driving the stability control light starts flashing and the car sorta lacks acceleration, took to shop supposedly code c1204 came up. Any idea on cost of parts? Or whats parts to replace?
Hey friend I have a Nissan Murano 2007 and it bounces sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t I changed front driver side axle, new brakes and new rotors and still doing the same vibration I don’t know what to do next do you have any idea what it is ?
Might be a bad strut or shock. Find a speed bump and drive over it slowly a few times. If it bounces more than once then it probably needs a set of struts. Any shop can replace those and it doesn't take very long or cost very much.
Just curious if catalytic converter issues could cause fuel deficiency. I have noticed that I'm not getting the same mpgs that I used to on my '03 murano and it keeps throwing a catalytic converter code every other week. I tried the bottle of catalytic converter cleaner and the code went away for a bit and came back. If that's not the issue do you know what could cause fuel deficiency?
My 2nd gen 2011 started illuminating the tcs and slip lights. I just got it. Yes it was in a minor accident on the front. Is this an issue? Or is it normal for this to happen?
Sounds like a wheel sensor issue, does it happen on turns or going straight? I had an Altima with a faulty bearing sensor ring, a tooth missing, causing this issue. Was only able the find it using an oscilloscope and rotating the wheel by hand while watching the squire wave pattern, sure enough it skipped one tooth, wasn't enough to set a code, but would active the anti-lock & traction/dynamic control system as that wheel was determined to be rotating slower.
I was gift nissan murano sl awd 07 3.5l v6 with the annoying cvt Trans but it will not move it has burn smelling Trans fluid that's about it I was thinking might be stepper motor but I'm a gm guy any help would be awesome
Do you think is worth replacing and buying a new transmission on a 2005 Nissan Murano with 150K miles? My transmission died and replacing it with a new one will cost close to $5,000. I really love my Murano, but I think is too much of a risk fixing an old car, and I can use that money for a down payment on a new, or barely used car.

+Carlos Francis Thanks for the feedback!
Good info and tips included.
Oil filter adapter oil leak, a/c amplifier relay those are the most common problems transmission those years is pretty solid
The power train in general is pretty bullet proof, Japanese engines don't have the same issue as the North American engine
Thank u it's very usefull for the owners of this car or who intends to, but what about the cvt?
and could u do like this video for renault koleos 2011 2.5 petrol if it's found in you country?

I bought a brand new onr in 2006. Started having problems with drivers seat in about 2009. The seat became loose , took it to the dealer a few times about that. Otherwise, it was a great truck
Thank you for the checks and quick tips 😍😍😍
trustworthy video, thanks
Got an 04 with 165k. Only major issue was the valve cover gaskets. Still runs like a clock.
forgot the power steering and rack and pinion problem
You are soo good , thanx for the info
It sounds like the car was not charging any more. Are you sure the battery light was not on? Have your battery/alternator checked.
My alternator went out at same time caused battery to die got stranded on highway barely able to pull over loss of all control but got new alt & battery and fixed it also needed new connectors
I have a 04 Murano it started off great and I have some service records from the previous owner ( family member)
But now it’s making a crackling noise upon acceleration, the rpm are stuck at almost 3 when picking up speed and it smokes on the passenger side upon long distance traveling.
Rattling is normally the catalytic converter coming apart on inside
154K, you need to spend some money and fix it. Check engine lights are only for emission related issues, not oil leaks. If the rattling noise is the convertor it's already to late as the broken catalyst will turn to a grit and enter the engine resulting in oil consumption, though a ck eng light would have surely come on if that were the case
It could also be that the engine oil is burned up or leaking and that you have to fill it up. I also have that problem on one of mine.
rattling (crackling?) can be the exhaust heat shields cracking, very common issue on Nissan V-6's over 100K.
Any advice is appreciated... thank you.
The biggest issue on those Nissans is their CVTS

Ur handsome and I like the way u explain things quick and efficient. Nice!
Great presentation!
Great Video information
Nice that the smaller problems.. now lets Talk the CVT going out and what going into safe mode feels like and how about the Speed sensors and Cam sensors ???... all crap !! in fact every Murano made has been crap with these ongoing problems..
You're talking about 1st gen cars with many years/miles on them. What car doesn't require repairs at 200K/15 years?
This Murano was ahead of its time. The new one? Not anymore.

Very nice
I have 04 murano and loses power after driving certain time no chk engine am asuming is the throttle body or can anyone give sugestions
Thank you
Same problem I'm having, just replaced the battery also was corroded and thought that why the car was losing power
Did you figure out the problem? I'm having the same issue😔
Question if I do have motor mount troubles how fast should I treat them
Let's play the "of course" drinking game!
5/23 just bought a n 06 and when I go to start I have to set the choke to start it will start. Just get in and go, have to start 2x and starts is that a problem? I had it a month thanks Kevin
What is the little button hidden in the the tail ligh
Great. Are these issues just specific to Murano or they cut across?
Looking at a 2004 SL with 180000 miles. The dealer is replacing the head gasket and they want $3995 for the car. Should I walk away or would this be a good deal? Thanks for the vid!
Sorry about that I must have hit send.
Anyway as I was saying check the transmission fluid the oil did not smell burnt it was didn't indicate it needed any. The fluid is light in color not real dark. I then looked around to see if maybe a belt broke, but I believe that would have made it shut down. or then I ended up turning it off tried to start I started it again
CVT TRANSMISSION!!!!!!!!!
What about it???????
thank you very much
i have a 2004 Nissan Murano and Im having a problem with enough power going to the crankability of the car. Also, throughout a days driving, turning the corner to get home, I lose acceleration and the car idles as if the car is in park yet it will accelerate as if you take your foot off the brake to roll into acceleration. Do you have any suggestions about how to correct the imperfections?

Good content there...👍. My murano's engine can't completely switch off even when I turn it off from ignition. HELP.
How about CVT?!
Now for the Murano 2009🙏🏾
My Nissan murano has these symptoms but I don’t know what it could be any suggestions
•Press on gas and the car doesn’t seem to move the speed it’s intended to, can’t even go up hills
•It rejects gas when I know the gas is low
•takes a while to turn on when I put the key in
Can I get some advice on VVT Valve replacement? Like location and best way to do it
Yeah, I need advice on this problem also...
Thank you.
I am at a loss right now
Great video!!! Thank you 😀
I have a question.
Nothing about rear main seal. Seen alot about how bad they are. I'm dealing with it now in my 04 murano.
Hi Any idea how to adjust hatch switch so when closed I don't get 'REAR DOOR OPEN' on dash when driving?
Have a 2007 nissan murano AWD and there is a slight high pitch sound that's changing with the RPM of the motor and stays in second gear and also the motor rev's at 4000 RPM at 100 Kilometer Per Hour and does not go into drive.
Whats up with this?
Len, I think you're misleading people a bit on the throttle body.
My understanding is that most people who aren't jamming the heck out of the butterfly valve can do a simple throttle relearn process on it, which they also need to do on a new tb assembly. www.nissanhelp.com/diy/murano/projects/nissan_murano_idle_air_volume_learning.php
Prob a good idea to take a pic with your phone before starting, or measure the distance the top of the butterfly valve is from the side.
Most oil consumption issues are due to catalytic convertor failure resulting in a fine dust from the catalyst entering the engine cause cylinder/piston ring wear
how many oil liters do you put on a nissan murano from 2006?
Good day, so i own a 09 murano awd, and recently the car as driving the stability control light starts flashing and the car sorta lacks acceleration, took to shop supposedly code c1204 came up. Any idea on cost of parts? Or whats parts to replace?
My 2006 murano when am driving I see that the speed is very low and cannot run very well when I start on a hill. What is the cause of that?
I have no one of those issues but my ESP light and engine light are on and i have many difficulties to start my engine.
After changing my oil sensors all three of them check engine light still comes on with the same codes I don't understand what the problem is
Hey friend I have a Nissan Murano 2007 and it bounces sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t I changed front driver side axle, new brakes and new rotors and still doing the same vibration I don’t know what to do next do you have any idea what it is ?
Might be a bad strut or shock. Find a speed bump and drive over it slowly a few times. If it bounces more than once then it probably needs a set of struts. Any shop can replace those and it doesn't take very long or cost very much.
What about the big one - the CVT! Or is that the next generation?
Just curious if catalytic converter issues could cause fuel deficiency. I have noticed that I'm not getting the same mpgs that I used to on my '03 murano and it keeps throwing a catalytic converter code every other week. I tried the bottle of catalytic converter cleaner and the code went away for a bit and came back. If that's not the issue do you know what could cause fuel deficiency?
O2 sensor.
Can i use a O2 sensor that supposed to go to a 2004 Murano for my 2006 Murano?
I was gift nissan murano sl awd 07 3.5l v6 with the annoying cvt Trans but it will not move it has burn smelling Trans fluid that's about it I was thinking might be stepper motor but I'm a gm guy any help would be awesome
Do you think is worth replacing and buying a new transmission on a 2005 Nissan Murano with 150K miles? My transmission died and replacing it with a new one will cost close to $5,000. I really love my Murano, but I think is too much of a risk fixing an old car, and I can use that money for a down payment on a new, or barely used car.
Buy a new car I hope
