Lignum videos are never a disappointment. That's why I try not to miss a single one, sadly I feel very few people are really doing anything 'new' on RUclips. Lignum however never ceases to provoke such deep thought. Love it.
This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection ruclips.net/user/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.
I watched this and thougt "I wish I had the shop and skill to make that." Then you marked for all those dowels and I thought "I wish I had someone to do that." :D Very nice work.
ensen89 - Well watch more videos like this, learn all you can about having and maintaining a wood shop, If you learn all you can without hands on experience and you feel like it's something you'd enjoy, look for woodworking classes in your area, or someone who could have you as their apprentice. Woodworking is slowly coming back so I'd say the more the merrier! Personally I don't have a workshop but that's something I'm striving for as I see this as something I'd like to make my living Remember, experience is invaluable Mistakes are moments for learning and are precious! Admire where you're at with you skill but never stop striving to improve! and last but not least, find a job you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life

Your chair looks like something out of the future. It has transversed the time barrier. This chair should be the model for chairs in the Mars rocket. UNBELIEVABLE !!!
@@lignumchannel What's the tool actually called, the one you use to cut the wood into laminate panels? Could you link up make/model please? LOVED the chair. Discovered the channel today, subscribing :)
Your designs are always so simple, yet of course are very labour intensive to fabricate. Always worth the effort though. That's more like a stunning piece of art rather than a lounger seat. Thanks for sharing 5⭐'s
Hello ! I live in the DRC 🇨🇩, I am still preparing my workshop and I admit that you inspire me a lot and I do not fail to view your works. Good job and go ahead 👍
Wow Antoine, I honestly appreciate it! I wish you all the luck in the world with your workshop, I know you will be successful! I hope I'll see your work when you start working in it!
Its a pleasure to see a masterpiece being made with such care and attention to detail. I like how everything is planned and sanded and polished to get that perfect finish. Great work.
Beautiful work and very cool chair...Pfft, it took a while but...Not bad for 11 minutes worth of work! :).................Carpenter for 30 years...Just ribbin ya!
@@lignumchannel I just want to know the thickness of the strips which you cut or made from that long wooden bar. And how many strips you made from that bar? Please let me know.
Love the trick of pencil and tape. I use that method all the time with 1mm spacer stack and until it's still working I won't get a marking gauge :). Also love the way you you put the electric core around your neck LOL. Dad told me off all the time doing it but I can't resist haha. Thank you for sharing another amazing project :)
Once again, beautiful work on both the project and the video! I really love the look of the spruce and the lines of this lounger. Unmistakable 'Lignum' style. :)
Seeing it was wood. My initial thought was this eould break easy. But using many thin pieces is acrually brilliant. If i am correct it weakens it slightly but makes it more flexible. So harder to break in the end.

this is one of the coolest chairs I've ever seen... that laminate saw (if that's what its called) is amazing too
industrial tools for specific uses are awesome
Thank you Nicholas!
Same principal as the old wind powered saw mill in the Netherlands. Really cool
That saw is incredibly cool. For such a labor intensive build a little power tool help is awesome

ロープで背もたれと座面を創るというのは良いアイディアだと思います。資源の節約にもなりそうですし。
それらが破損した既存の椅子(安楽椅子やデスクチェアなど)の修復にも使えるのではないかと。

Thank you, I'm glad you like the chair! This is one of the first comments I got from Japan! :)
wow very nice handmade chair
👏👏👏👍👍👍🖐🖐😁
Smooth lines, and looks comfortable as heck. I bet there is a cat somewhere nearby, frantically looking for that ball of rope.
Judging by that mouse I saw a couple days ago, I think that cat is on strike.. XD I'm glad you like it!
Those two massive robot arms gathering dust in the corner of your shop ? That’s indecent 😭😭😭! Beautiful work, thanks for sharing!
They took a break from this project ;) Thank you for watching Arnaud!

Ahaha, thanks Jose!😁
BEAUTIFUL!!!!
And people wonder why custom furniture cost a lot to buy. Cause its a lot of work!
Is it just me or could he not have just used like 6 sheets of plywood to do this?
Then again he has a whole lumber mill in his shop so...
Que buen trabajo, les escribo desde Bogotá, Colombia
Another beautiful chair!
Thank you Ellie!

Apprentice: “Master, how many clamps should I put ?”
Master: “Keep clamping until you can’t clamp”
Something like that in this case :D
All of them. Steal from the neighbour if you have to
When you want to start woodworking and notice you have to buy 60 clamps first.
