Thank you for watching Mark! :D Glad you liked it! I was also skeptical at first but it really turned out better than expected.. I'm now thinking about making 7 more for my future dining table..
Talk about big toys. That jigsaw was the biggest motor and blade I've ever seen (on a jigsaw). The reciprocating saw to cut multiple veneers simultaneously is a magnificent. The chair turned out well. It's not just the craftsmanship, I really get a lot out of you demonstrating your creative talent too. Thanks for the video. Cheers, David.
Simple & elegant design, lot of steps to get there, but that's bespoke furniture. I'm amazed at the age of most of your tools, but still functioning well
WOW, you have so many big tools, size envy in a non homic way I love the chair, I have seen this done on a smaller scale but still amazing watching you work. Thanks for sharing
Me encantan sus trabajos, soy de Chile y cuesta creer lo atrasados que estamos en métodos de producción. Siempre veo que su taller está full equipado... me imagino que todas las herramientas y maquinarias son de bajo costo. Saludos!!!
You use such a wild mix of these massive industrial machines, and handheld jobsite power tools, to build your pieces. I could approximate most of the techniques you use, but not all of them. ... and then there's the robots
Every once in a while I try to use simplest tools as possible.. This one is quite simple to recreate and some of my industrial tools are not necessary, 1.5mm spruce veneer is not that uncommon and before I got the machine I always used that..
Daniel H. Try contacting veneer suppliers; they’ll oftentimes have special thickness veneers. Certainly Wood in New York currently has some species up to 1/16” but I’ve seen ⅛” thick veneers on their website before
dobar dan. very interesting. Maybe you should consider that strengthwise, wood is the ultimate carbon fiber lengthwise and can take silch across. Croatian design have for the last twenty years gone pompeus like some other european contries, with sofaes filling up the whole room, etc. At the same time your potential customers are moving in to smaller and smaller appartments. Interesting choice of wood though. With the amount of hrast being cut every year and not enough replanting to sustaint it. We will all have to get used to fast growing poplar.
i love watching your videos for both the projects you do as well as all your behemoth tools! do you do mass production, too, or just one-of-a-kind pieces? that shop must be used for more than just your projects, amazing though they are. and greetings from So Cal!
Very nice! Question: I don't see how you're over coming the racking forces. Can you elaborate or is this more of a show piece and not really meant to be used?
The seat and back panels resist racking. But the only thing that seems to prevent twist (from left to right) is the fact that it's a chair, which normally sits on a floor (which is presumably flat) when loaded. But if this needs to be shipped, I suppose it would be disassembled anyway.
You are right.. The seat and back keep everything in place.. As with most of my projects, details are decided along the way and I wasn't sure if some additional reinforcements would be necessary until it was complete, but it turned out it was strong enough as is..
@@lignumchannel Alvar Aalto pioneered bent lamination back in the 1920's, look up some of his furniture; the dimensions are really quite small, and the wood handles the forces with no problems. They have some flex, but it mostly adds to the comfort of the chairs. His "Armchair 42" especially has very similar design to yours.

You guy's always make it look so easy, I know a lot is to do with having the right tools etc but still 💯%👍. I'd still love to see you make a house with these technics or even a workshop now that would be cool 😎 💯%👍🇬🇧

If you don't have a strong wood connection between arms except of those thin seat and back pieces of plywoods then it will wiggle after a couple times of use side to side and eventually it will collapse under some fatty butt.
It's amazing to watch someone work who knows what they are doing. Great piece man.
I appreciate that! Thank you so much! :D
I never would have thought I'd like mahogany and spruce together, but that turned out fantastic! Thanks for posting this!

Luka Modric of woodworking!
Great Job!!
:D ahaha! Thank you very much!
Between the simple and repetitive shapes and the color contrast in the two types of wood, I absolutely like this design!
Thank you very much Harko! I'd just like I had more time to put on some finish before I went on vacation to make that red color pop!
Der Meister hat wieder zugeschlagen - Excellente Arbeit
Thank you Barny😁

Thank you very much David! I'm glad you like the project! That jigsaw is an old Fein model, probably older than myself, but it gets the job done..

Finally, natural sounds on the Lignum channel! Shopsounds are so much better than any music.
Best woodworking videos out here, always a pleasure to see a new one. Beautiful chair, well done.
You guys can make the wood do anything you want it to do. That was a beautiful piece. Thanks for sharing your impressive skills with us.
WOW, you have so many big tools, size envy in a non homic way I love the chair, I have seen this done on a smaller scale but still amazing watching you work. Thanks for sharing
I love wood working. You are very creative..
You continue to outdo yourself, your sense of design is amazing! As always thank you for sharing your workmanship with us!
Thank you once again Tom!😁

Hvala Mato! :D

You can do it, so simple and so elegant, beautiful..!
Thank you Karl!
This channel reminds me of Archimedes
"Give me enough tools and a shop to use them in, and I shall make the world."
:D Thank you so much! I cant agree more!
This is one of the best things I have ever read, well said
Perfectly made to perfection 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks a lot 😊
Отличная работа!!!
Это выглядит очень пластичным.
A master woodworker if there ever was one
Thank you very much Fred, I really appreciate it.. :)
Круто. Руки у вас золотые. Удачи в творчестве)
Another beautiful piece!
Thank you so much 😊
Beautiful design!
Крутая работа! Сколько времени ушло на работу?
Well done, another one added to your collection.
Thank you Robert once again!🙂
Vision, experience, perfection a good days work
Well, that was sad. The poor robot didn't even have anything to do today...
Don't worry, He was busy on another project ;)
Beautiful. So much work!
nice job and nice machines you have 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Eres tu uno de los mejores del mundo SEGURO
It's beautiful! Nice to see your working!
Thank you very much!
So clean. Love it, and it looks comfy to boot!
Thank you very much! New profile pic, almost didn't recognise you😉
Admiro tus proyectos y la combinación de uso de herramientas incluyendo a "Mr. Kuka"
Congratulations!!! 🇲🇽
Beautiful, viable using a leather seat?
Todo espectacular amigo! Congratulations!!!!!
Thank you very much! :D
Excellent work
The first piece took a while to make, but after you have the template ready, you can make them very fast
Yes you are right! I'm thinking of making an entire dining set..
@@lignumchannel I'm thinking of making one inspired by this but I don't have any tool to cut thin slices of wood

I thought it was wood and leather at first from the thumbnail. Great looking piece.
Muito bom, parabéns pelo belíssimo trabalho, esses trabalho é inspiração pra aprender a profissão.
Классный ролик! И стул прикольный!
as usual, awesome stuff. Thanks for sharing.
What a work!
Great design...as usual.
Thank you very much Hazem!
Beautiful chair! Was wondering with the seat and back added does that stiffen up the chair very solid without wiggling side to side?
Yes they do, I wasn't sure if I would need to add some reinforcements but after it was completed It turned out quite rigid..
I have the same doubts. It seemed like no glue for the seat just 8 or 10 srews. Time and usage can only answer 🤔🙂
Enjoyable video. Thanks for posting.
Thank you for watching Mike!
Nice! Really like the design. And your editing is engaging.
Thanks a ton Chris! :D
Cool to see bent lamination without the use of a steam box
:D I'ts every day for me.. I never used a steam box tbh but I would like to try that technique..
Amazing job
what is the machine at 4:20? it's amazing!

WOW man excellent stuff do you need a apprentice?
Incrível a pessoa, e o trabalho é impecavel👏👏👏👏👏👏😊
How long does it take one laminated beam to dry?
It depends mostly on temperature and hardener amount but it takes 8 hours on average.. During summer heath 5 hours..
@@lignumchannel Thanks
Me: 'That chair looks so flimsy. Needs a cross brace'.
Lignum: *stands on rock solid chair*

M Smith still think it needs a cross brace. Over time these tiny screws will chew up that thin wood veneer.
I was doubtful myself😉
How wide should trail steps be?
Wow!
Rad resaw machine and air clamps (looks like Taylor clamps)!
Awesome chair!
Where you located brother?
:)
Considering Agadmator ( ruclips.net/channel/UCL5YbN5WLFD8dLIegT5QAbA ) lives only a hour from him, I'd say he's in Croatia.
Hello from Bordeaux ( city of wine in France 😉)! I'm so in love of this chair, really élégant. Did you imagine the design yourself too?
Thank you! 😊 Yes I did:D
Beautiful
Cool design bro but i dont think it would last but still looks cool
What type of board did you use for the seat?
When you say melamine glue, is that a urea formaldehyde glue? Love your work.
جميل وراااائع ، beautiful & perfect 👌 job
Thank you! Yes that's it.
04:02 What's this machine called?
Bravo, sekoja cest !
Thank you Ognen!
Maybe someone can enlighten me: What did he put onto the negative and positive sides of the mold before pressing? Water?
I put mold wax to prevent glue from sticking to it.
Excelente trabajo
Superb... As always...
Thanks a lot 😊
what a great job!!
Очень крутой стул!!!
you should look up studio jeroen wand, your lamination of veneers reminded me of his work
Thank you Joep. I wrote it down and will take a look at his work when I get home from vacation.
Hello from Easton Maryland. Wonderful videos. What kind of glue you use?
Thank you Juan! :D For the mahogany I used vinyl acetate and for the spruce I used two component melamine formaldehyde glue.
What's the name of the saw/machine shown at 3:58 till 4:28
Looks comfortable. Very well made. Love the curved wood frame. Question, what type of glue do you use?
I use melamine and vinyl acetate glue. Glad you like it!
what is the name of the machine who split the wood in 10 slice ? Awsome work !!!
Most likely "the wood in 10 slice splitter". It would make sense to me.
But someone else mentioned something called "thickness veneer".
Great work!
Thanks! :D Glad you like it Wender!
Like an all wood buff Eames chair :)
Perfect 😘❤️👍👍😎
cool job! how long did it take to work?
Well to be honest I didn't keep the track of time.. I would say somewhere around 15 hours or so..
can you bend space?
Fantastic!!!!
Could also make a matching table?
I could and now when you said it I just might.. :D
Shop tour, please. If you do not speak English, just include closed captions.
